Earlier this month, a woman and a friend were returning home to Kelowna, Canada when they drove through a border checkpoint in Roosville, Montana. Minutes after entering the checkpoint, one of the women would be facing down her worst nightmare. She now says she will never return to the United States again without her husband.

The U.S. is starting to look a lot like India, Turkey, Saudi, Occupied Palestine and many other dark patches in the world of human rights. Thirty years ago a Canadian could travel freely across the border to shop, spend a week-end or just seek out entertainment. Now a Canadian must ask themselves if they really need to take the chance of being locked up for attempting what used to be a wonderful experience.
Perhaps it's time Canadians begin to act in a similar fashion. Why do we want Americans here anyway? They are generally ignorant and if they are employed by the U.S. government then they are dangerous too.
Trump was right, we need that wall between us. A double wall with broken glass on top and hungry dogs below.
