It occurred following a warm weather and rain.

The dust covered the whole city of Nukus. It became difficult to breathe and people wear facial masks.

Locals are complaining that the dust spread even through the windows. The dust contains nitrogen fertilizer, which has been collecting on the bottom of the sea for dozens of years.

Meanwhile, the Turkmen language service of the RFE/RL says that the disaster also struck Dashoguz region of Turkmenistan on the night of May 27.

Winemakers in western France in the famed Bordeaux and Cognac areas were inspecting damage to their vines on Sunday after an "unprecedented" storm saw pebble-sized hailstones cause widespread destruction.

The bad weather struck around midday on Saturday in the Gironde area where many of France's most well-known red wines originate, as well as further north in the Charente and Charente-Maritime regions.

"It's a shock, it was a hailstorm of unprecedented violence for 10 minutes," the head of a winegrowers association in the Cotes-de-Bourg area, Didier Gontier, told Franceinfo radio on Sunday.

Rare waterspout filmed in middle Tennessee

waterspot
Check out this water spout that was captured on video today at Sunset Marina in Pickett County by Madison Hill.

The waterspout in Pickett County today was a phenomena we don't see very often here in Tennessee, says FOX 17 Meteorologist Colleen Mehlberg.

It just so happened that the right ingredients lined up at the perfect time to create this spectacle, says Mehlberg. Looking back and comparing with the NWS, it seems most likely that a gust front from approaching thunderstorms brought in cooler air that interacted with warmer lake waters and the curvature of the lake itself to create a quick spin-up.
