Chessboard killer Pichushkin appeals against life sentence

Alexander Pichushkin, one of the most prolific serial killers in Russia's history, who was found guilty of 48 murders, has filed an appeal against his life sentence, his lawyer said Friday.

The 33-year-old former supermarket worker has been nicknamed Russia's "chessboard killer" for his habit of marking off his victims on the squares of a chessboard, which number 64. He claims to have taken the lives of at least 60 people, but investigators have yet to find evidence for the other alleged killings.

"Pichushkin considers the verdict too harsh and unfair," Alexander Karyagin said adding that he filed the appeal at the request of his client.

Comment: Amazing but not surprising statement to hear from a psychopath.

Psychopathic Cop who fell on the job sues family of baby who almost drowned

Florida - An officer who went to help when a baby fell in a pool says she slipped in a puddle.

In January, 1-year-old Joey Cosmillo wandered into the backyard and fell into the family pool. When his mother hauled him out, he wasn't breathing. Rescuers were able to bring him back to life, but he suffered severe brain damage and cannot walk, talk or even swallow.

Now, his family faces another burden: One of the rescuers, Casselberry police Sgt. Andrea Eichhorn, is suing, alleging the family left a puddle of water on the floor that afternoon, causing her to slip and fall.

Comment: As if the puddle was left there purposely. It would seem that the people at the scene of the accident were terribly busy trying to save the life of an infant. Who would be running around trying to find any puddles to clean up? Only a psychopath would put themselves and their injury above that of saving a child's life.

Flashback SOTT Focus: Why You Should Think That The War On Terror Is A Sick Joke

The big question, and one that has caused serious arguments in families around the country is:
Is the War On Terror real?
By that I mean, is there, as the US government claims, a very real "Islamic terror threat" to the United States and civilised societies everywhere?

This question needs answering, because much of the world has been turned on its head as a result of the 9/11 attacks and the war on terror, and many hundreds of thousands of innocent people have been killed, and that, it seems, is just for starters. So before we go any futher, we really need to know if this thing is for real or if it is just one big and tasteless joke.

SOTT Focus: Some Days are Harder Than Others...

About a week ago I wrote on my Blog that after four and a half years of reading news stories that scare the hell out of me and everyone else I know, I would be quite content to just have things back the way they were before 911 - you know, some good news, some bad news, a little give, a little take, and plenty of activity moving us toward global peace and justice.

That was our world then. Remember?

Today we are in a world where "Endless War" is our lot, and like beasts of burden, we are expected to take this on our backs, and not complain. Our masters have made the mess we are in and we are supposed to be willing to just go in and kill other people whose masters have made the mess they are in and not ask questions.

I'm sorry to be so unobliging, but my children and my children's children will have to live in whatever world we leave them and for that reason, I am highly motivated to speak out and continue to do so until there is no more breath left in me. But some days it is particularly hard. Today was one of them.

Rabbis disgusted by Madonna's visit

Orthodox teachers of Kabbala reacted with disdain Sunday to pop idol Madonna's Rosh Hashana visit in Israel, during which she took part in a study session of Judaism's most esoteric texts.

"It is a known fact in Kabbala that impurity and evil are inherently attracted to sanctity," said a director of one of the most respected Kabbala yeshivot in Jerusalem who preferred that he and his institution remain anonymous.
