Anti-LGBT hysteria: NC high school to allow students to carry pepper spray to defend themselves

A North Carolina high school will allow students to carry pepper spray, razors and other items which one board member suggested they might need to defend themselves against transgender classmates they encounter in the bathroom.

The Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education removed prohibitive language in its policy on defensive weapons this week but will continue to debate which items will be allowed on campus, reported the Salisbury Post.

One school board member said pepper spray and other chemical irritants should be allowed in case a court strikes down the state's controversial HB2, better known as the anti-LGBT "bathroom bill."

"Depending on how the courts rule on the bathroom issues, it may be a pretty valuable tool to have on the female students if they go to the bathroom, not knowing who may come in," said board member Chuck Hughes.

A Swiss town that is billing itself as a hub for the digital currency industry will accept bitcoin for some payments starting this summer, in what proponents call a worldwide first by a government body and a sign that "crypto finance" is growing in legitimacy.

The town council in northern Zug last week approved plans to accept payments of up to 200 Swiss francs (about $200) for municipal registration fees starting July 1, in what Mayor Dolfi Mueller called Wednesday an "experiment" aimed at making the digitally-minded town a pioneer in finance.

Many in Zug tout the town's reputation as part of "Crypto Valley," with some 15 companies linked to the digital currency business. The council's move is designed in part to help those firms, while providing a coming-of-age push to bitcoin, which has been used widely already in private-sector transactions.

Niklas Nikolajsen, CEO of financial services company Bitcoin Suisse AG in Zug, said the city's decision is "the first example of a state entity that accepts bitcoin."

Not political: Turkish fruit and vegetables face total ban in Russia

Russia's agriculture watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor has announced plans to halt the remaining imports of fruit and vegetables from Turkey next week.

"We are considering restrictions on the remaining fruit and vegetable products which have not yet been banned," said the agency's deputy head, Yulia Shvabauskene, as quoted by Interfax.

Rosselkhoznadzor is going to impose ban on imports of products still allowed on the Russian market, including marrows, lemons and grapefruit, due to the systematic violations of sanitary requirements.

Black Magic

FBI's manufactured terror plots often directed against Jewish community, driving more division between Jews and Muslims

FBI Seal

Recent alleged terror plots reveal deeply troubling patterns in the FBI's practices.

Since 9/11, the FBI and NYPD have solved dozens of terror plots that its own agents and assets manufactured, including some against synagogues. Even if the plots were less than real, the foiled "attacks" have greatly impacted both the defendants and their alleged victims, spreading fear among Jewish-Americans and triggering panicked reports about heightened threat against Jews.

The arrest [3] this April of James Medina, a recent convert to Islam with an extensive criminal history, may be the latest evidence of the disturbing practice. An FBI affidavit showed an FBI source suggesting that Medina bomb the Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center in Hollywood, Florida on a Jewish holiday.

The source even encouraged Medina to claim the attack in the name of ISIS—a group he had no affiliation to. "Yeah, we can print up... something and make it look like it's ISIS here in America," Medina said, one of a series of statements evincing an erratic mental state.

"Aventura, watch your back," he continued. "ISIS is in the house."

The FBI ultimately gave Medina a fake bomb and arrested him. He is now on trial for planning to commit an act of terror with a weapon of mass destruction, a charge that could land the 40-year-old in prison for life.

Although there is still much to be known about Medina's case, it appears to be part of a broader pattern. Before his arrest, there were several other Muslim men, most of whom had mental illnesses or developmental disabilities, who were drawn into FBI dragnets and encouraged by federal law enforcement agents to attack Jewish institutions.

Among the most shocking cases was that of Ahmed Ferhani, a young, clinically bipolar Muslim teen currently serving a 10-year sentence in prison for terrorism-related charges.

Comment: The FBI is the domestic equivalent of the CIA. Where the CIA funds, trains and provides all kinds of support for terrorist forces in the Middle East, the FBI helps create terrorism - or the perception of terrorism on U.S. soil. In targeting Jewish-Americans via hand-picked Moslem patsies, the FBI further ramps up Islamophobia, feeds the national security state apparatus and pushes Jews into identifying with Israel's victimhood narrative. This is psychological warfare we're seeing, pure and simple.

A French teenager has broadcast her suicide on social media, showing viewers the moment she jumped in front of a train in Paris. The girl announced on the video she was a victim of sexual violence, naming the man who she claimed raped her.

Using the live video-streaming app Periscope, the 19-year-old shared the suicide with around 1,000 viewers on Tuesday afternoon, according to France Info.

"What's about to happen will be very shocking, but I'm not doing it for the hype, I am doing it to send a message," she said before jumping in front of the RER C train at Egly station, Metro News reported.

People watching the video commented on her remarks, saying: "We're waiting" and "Give us a hint."

Before jumping, the girl "spoke of a rape and named the aggressor," a judicial source said, as quoted by AFP. The source said the claim is being treated with caution at this stage.

In addition to the Periscope footage, the suicide was also captured on CCTV video at the station, which is located in a suburb about 25 miles south of central Paris.

Emergency crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Police seized the woman's phone and have since launched an investigation.

'Ban Islam from America': Islamic Center site vandalized in Washington state

The Islamic Center site in Mukilteo, northwest Washington, has been vandalized with "Ban Islam from America" flyers left at the proposed house of worship's location. Both local police and the mayor's office are investigating the incident.

"That type of action is hateful, no matter what the words were. There's hate behind it," Mukilteo Mayor Jennifer Gregerson said, according to KOMO News. "That's the way that I feel about it."

Last week, the Mukilteo Police Department learned about the act of vandalism from an anonymous caller, who informed them about the flyers bearing "anti-Islamic" rhetoric left alongside an American flag at the intended site of the Islamic Center of Mukilteo. Titled "Ban Islam in America," the leaflets were attached to a sign that announced the construction of the mosque.

The mosque's sign was also hit by vandals.

Rat, human DNA found in burgers, says study

Upon ordering a burger in a fast food chain, diners might have already come to terms with the fact there is a very slim chance of horse meat lurking under that tomato.

But the additions of rat and human DNA could be harder to swallow.

A new study from US-based food testing company Clear Labs has discovered, from a sample of 258 burgers, two cases of meat in vegetarian products, three burgers with rat DNA and one case of human DNA.

"The most likely cause is hair, skin, or fingernail that was accidentally mixed in during the manufacturing process," it read, referring to the human DNA.

"What many consumers don't know is that some amounts of human and rat DNA may fall within an acceptable regulatory range," the report added.

It also found that there are "gaps" in food safety and quality standards, but overall the beef industry has "benefited from stringent regulation and aggressive testing requirements".

Of larger concern than the "unpleasant" DNA findings was that almost a quarter of vegetarian burgers have different ingredients to those on the label. Two veggie burgers contained beef, and one black bean burger contained no black beans.

Psychopath: Woman who orchestrated the murder of her family as a teen speaks about why she did it

Erin Caffey
© ITV/YouTubeErin Caffey orchestrated the murder of her family
A woman who orchestrated the murder of most of her family has spoken of the "bad choices" she made.

Erin Caffey's manipulative actions led to the deaths of her mother and two brothers and the attempted murder of her father in 2008.

The former church pianist, who was then just 16 years old, persuaded her boyfriend, Charlie Wilkinson, 18, and his friend Charles Waid, 20, to wipe out her family, apparently after being told she couldn't see her boyfriend anymore.

One night, while Erin waited outside in a car with another friend, 18-year-old Bobbi Johnson, Wilkinson and Waid entered the Caffey family house in Emory, Texas. They repeatedly shot members of the family and used a samurai sword to stab Erin's mother, Penny, and Erin's brothers, Matthew, 13, and Tyler, 8.

Her father, Terry, was shot numerous times but managed to drag himself out of the house before it was burned to the ground by the attackers.

Comment: Erin Caffey appears to have manipulated her father into believing her lies. There are comments from objective observers who've dealt with Caffey that reveal a more likely understanding of her. Criminal therapist Israel Lewis, who worked with her after her capture, is quoted as saying, "I've never come across anyone as dangerous as Erin". That comment is probably not in reference to her physical appearance, as a woman of short stature with an All-American face. Most people never would nor could think she would capable of the things she's done. But anyone who's studied psychopathy knows, appearances mean nothing when it comes to pathology. Anyone could be a psychopath.

Spotlight success: Baltimore Archdiocese posts lists of 71 pedophile priests

priests
© Reuters
The Archdiocese of Baltimore has posted a list of all priests accused of sexual abuse of children on its website, as part of the fallout from newspaper investigations portrayed in the Oscar-winning film "Spotlight".

The list features 71 clergy members who have been accused of sexual abuse which the church found to be "credible."

Victims and advocates hope the list will allow others who suffered abuse to come forward.

The list was published in January by Archbishop William Lori, but was not publicized until the Baltimore Sun broke the story this week.

Following revelations by a Boston Globe investigative team into its city's diocese, which inspired this year's Best Picture Oscar winner "Spotlight", Baltimore's church leadership was one of the first to list accused priests publicly in 2002.

Comment: In the film version, Richard Sipe reveals that around 6% of clergymen are pedophiles. He gives a bit more detail on his website. It's hard to know whether this figure means the percent of pedophile priests is the same as the number of pedophiles in the general public, or whether they're overrepresented among the clergy. Even if the numbers are the same, the significance is this: the status of these priests gives them special access to children, potentially more than they would be able to abuse than in other positions. They were and are also 'protected' by the clergy as a whole.

On the other hand, the scandal should teach us a lesson: that pedophilia is rampant, much more so than we tend to believe. Think about it: up to 6% of people in any profession are potentially pedophiles who abuse children.

28% of Americans terrified of Trump presidency are considering leaving country if he gets elected

The US Treasury Department reports a 1700% increase in renounced citizenships, as compared to the Bush era, as the United States comes to grips with the possibility of a scandalous bottle-blonde politician.

In a public opinion poll released on March 15, 28% of Americans responded that they would consider leaving the country if Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election. That once-remote possibility creeps nearer to reality with the controversial billionaire television producer securing the Republican Party nomination after rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich dropped out this week.

Trump's likely opponent, Hillary Clinton, continues to struggle in the Democratic Primary against Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, and now faces a possible FBI investigation after infamous hacker Guccifer announced he had repeatedly compromised her private email server which contained improperly stored top-secret information.

Many US citizens have decided not to chance the likely instability of a Trump presidency, with a shocking 1700% surge in the number of Americans renouncing their citizenship. In the first three months of 2016, the US Treasury Department reported that a record 1,158 individuals had renounced their citizenship.
