Deputy Georgian Interior Minister Aleksandre Darakhvelidze said participants in the Tbilisi Pride Fest were safely evacuated from the scene. Festival organizers called on people not to come to the lakeside park where the event was to be held.
Georgian news media estimated about 5,000 people marched toward the site. Many of them waved Georgian flags and carried religious icons.
In a controversial new policy, the Multnomah County Health Department plans to distribute aluminum foil and straws to fentanyl smokers in Portland in July, officials say.
Spokesperson Sarah Dean confirmed to KOIN 6 that city officials announced their plan to distribute the supplies in a PowerPoint presentation last week. The supplies will also include glass pipes and snorting kits.
Comment: The justification for syringe exchange programs was always that sharing needles was potentially harmful in the spread of blood-borne pathogens like HIV. But why would those smoking drugs need a government program to get their gear? At this point, isn't this just enabling?

At least 26 police officers were injured on Saturday at an Eritrean cultural event in the western German city of Giessen.
Police said they were pelted with items, including stones, bottles and smoke bombs as groups of Eritreans opposed to the African nation's autocratic ruler tried to force their way to the venue.

Medical charity Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust has defended suggesting health professionals use the terms 'bonus hole' and 'front hole' in place of 'vagina' to accommodate trans men and non-binary patients for cervical screenings, telling the Daily Mail on Saturday that the guidance on its website is not meant for all patients.
The trust explained the language wasn't directed at "all women," but that it was taken from a guide for health professionals looking to encourage trans-men and non-binary female-bodied individuals to come in for cervical cancer screenings.

At the beginning of this global illness I thought running across something like this was funny. Now I don't. At first I didn't even believe it could be true, now I am not laughing. What does this mean?
I have become a bit impatient with the manner in which most people are seemingly dealing with this. Of course there are some loud voices of opposition, thank God for them, but even those folks are treating all this like these events are typical results of a new ideology — the "woke" culture.
They don't even see it as bad as the Nazi ideology, which is often referred to as evil incarnate and has been bestowed the "that really wasn't human" award back in the '30s — National Socialism was an anomaly of human history, and best be forgotten.
There is zero tolerance for Nazis in these modern times, "we're past that." But many of us sure are tolerant of this, not only tolerant, but encouraging, and even affirming!
So what is this? What is this "woke" culture that is filled with buzzwords like "equity," "inclusion," and "diversity" — all words designed to elicit the response: "well, their heart is in the right place." Is it? I don't think so.
This is insanity, plain and simple, and there should be great concern as to what could have possibly "gotten in the water" to distort people's brains the way they have been distorted.
For three years, pandemic public relations mocked nature, generating fear, illness, inflation and excess death beyond what the virus caused. Digital censorship supercharged the effort to hide reality, but reality is getting its day in court.
On July 4, U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty temporarily blocked numerous federal agencies and the White House from collaborating with social-media companies and third-party groups to censor speech.
Discovery in Missouri v. Biden exposed relationships among government agencies and social-media firms and revealed an additional layer of university centers and self-styled disinformation watchdogs and fact-checking outfits.

Disconnected from current candidates, 49 percent of respondents said the best age for a president is in their 50s, according to the study from the Pew Research Center. That's followed by 24 percent who said they would want someone in their 60s, and 17 percent said someone in their 40s.
Only 3 percent of respondents said the best age for a president is in their 70s or older.
The survey illustrates a disconnect between the desires of many Americans for a younger leader and the ages of likely 2024 presidential nominees; President Biden is 80 years old, and former President Trump, the leading Republican candidate, is 77.
The plan is going through a contract with a company, DT Gruelle, that is specially approved for overseas arms trading. Around $200,000 worth of firearms will be handed over to the company for shipment, according to the Arizona Daily Independent.

The CPS has listed nine types of behaviour which could amount to abuse of trans or non-binary people by their partners or members of their family.
These include "withholding money for transitioning," which would include either spouse refusing to pay for gender surgery, counselling or other treatment in a way that amounted to coercive control or abuse.
