A Louisiana police officer who fatally shot a six-year-old autistic child was sentenced to 40 years in prison on Friday. Derrick Stafford fired 14 times after pursuing an SUV in November 2015, claiming not to know Jeremy Mardis was in the back seat.

State District Judge William Bennett at the Marksville courthouse handed Stafford, 33, the 40-year sentence for manslaughter along with 15 years for attempted manslaughter, reported WAFB.

Dramatic video footage shows the moment four people were thrown from a capsized sailboat, seconds before it smashed into the Redondo Beach pier in Los Angeles, California.

The sailboat left nearby King Harbor on Thursday in "extremely windy conditions and was unable to turn around and get back behind the breakwater," according to the person who filmed the footage, Jason Wells.

Under a new bill introduced on Capitol Hill, the federal government would pay the Navajo Nation nearly $200 million for water projects, with another $8 million coming from Utah, as part of a deal to end more than a decade of contention over water rights.

Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) introduced the bill on Thursday, with Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) filing companion legislation in the House. Senate Bill 664 would authorize the US government to spend up to $198.3 million for Navajo water projects like wells, pipelines and treatment plants.

It took more than 13 years for a federal negotiations team from the Bureau of Reclamation, the state of Utah and the Navajo Nation to agree to a deal, which the current Navajo Nation Council listed as a priority when it took office in 2015. Formal discussions between Utah and the Navajo Nation began after the two sides signed a memorandum of agreement in 2003.

Lost the plot: PETA Says milk is a 'symbol of white supremacy'

glass of milk
PETA's shenanigans vary from the absurd to the downright offensive. From likening rape survivors to pigs and cows, to calling Pokémon a form of animal cruelty, PETA's efforts to "save the animals" always make the headlines—and with good reason: they're completely absurd.

The animal rights group today released a new video to cry over milk, equating the nutritious drink with Nazism. Following the rise in Trump Derangement Syndrome and the progressive left's hysteria over white supremacism, PETA states:

"Did you know that milk has long been a symbol used by white supremacists?"

Thousands of Jews and Arabs have united for a peace rally against the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands, after Tel Aviv officially approved the construction of a new West Bank settlement for the first time in 25 years, triggering an avalanche of criticism.

Some 2,000 people shouting "Jews and Arabs are not enemies" and "No to a government of annexation" marched from west Jerusalem to the Old City's Jaffa Gate. Holding both Israeli and Palestinian flags, the demonstrators demanded an end to illegal settlement expansion.

Israeli police say security forces shot dead a Palestinian man who stabbed two Jewish young people and a police officer in East Jerusalem's Old City.

Israeli police have neutralized a Palestinian teenager who stabbed two young Israelis in Jerusalem on Saturday, then fled the scene and stabbed a female border police guard who chased him, police spokeswoman Luba al-Samri said, according to AP.

The victims suffered light injuries, Police Foreign Press spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld confirmed on Twitter.

The Palestinian man has been identified as 17-year-old Ahmad Zahir Fathi Ghazal from the West Bank, the Palestinian Health Ministry reports.

Palestinian news agency Ma'an has posted a video allegedly showing the moments after the attack when police officers started their pursuit of the attacker.

Facial recognition tech will make it easier for cops to ensnare innocent people

cctv camera
It's often the case that new technologies arrive on the scene faster than our society and its legal code can keep up. Sometimes this can be a good thing. For instance, 3D printing allows people to print out unregulated gun parts, thus allowing gun owners to circumvent the onerous laws of our government, which has struggled to come up with new laws to restrict the technology.

When technology advances at a breakneck pace however, it can also be quite dangerous for our liberties. This is especially true in regards to privacy. If a new technology makes it easy for the government to track us, you can bet that the government is going to take its sweet time updating the legal code in a way that will protect us from surveillance.

That certainly seems to be the case with facial recognition software. During a recent Congressional Oversight Committee hearing, members of both political parties sounded the alarm on the FBI's use of the technology, and read the written testimony of Electronic Frontier Foundation senior staff attorney Jennifer Lynch:

Dutch TV cancels Dr. Phil after airing episode exposing elite pedophilia

Dr Phil and RTL
"Dr. Phil" has been on television since 2002 and made Dr. Phillip McGraw one of the most prominent mental health professionals in the world.

Recently, however Dutch company RTL has decided to pull the plug on the Dr. Phil Show, and the timing of this action couldn't be any more suspicious.

Only a week ago, Dr. Phil had aired a show where he interviewed a woman who claimed to have been trafficked around the world, to the most elaborate events and parties, as a sex slave for rich and powerful men.

The Vegan Confusion - How vegans and vegetarians kill animals after all...

Vegans kill
© Unknown
Last year Claudio Bertonatti, one of the most renowned naturalists in Argentina, wrote an article that triggered an earthquake. The tsunami reached us here and is likely to extend even further.

In his article, The Vegan Confusion he warns that eating vegetables doesn't prevent the death of animals. Bertonatti has enraged thousands of vegans and vegetarians, as well as other nature conservationists. However, many who read his article learned something about animal rights that might never have occurred to them otherwise.

We spoke to Claudio about his earth-shattering idea and discussed the most important points of the controversy.

Comment: Claudio Bertonatti has hit the nail on the head with his assessments. Our society has become so ponerized and hystericized that we are now slowly losing our collective common sense about the world that surrounds us.
