'Auto-anti-Semitism!' Naftali Bennett declares war on Jewish self-hatred

Avner Inbar of Molad

Israeli Education Minister Naftali Bennett could be said to have made a genius triple breakthrough in the fields of psychology, psychiatry and sociology, coining a new term: "auto-anti-Semitism."
"Auto-anti-Semitism is a social-psychological phenomenon in which a Jew develops obsessive contempt and hostility towards Jewish tradition, customs, and observant Jews."
He wrote that on Friday, as cited by the religious-nationalist settler-outlet Israel National News, in response to criticism from leftwing organizations that "Jewish content is permeating more and more into the education system".

Actually, Bennett is simply calling secular Jews "self-haters." But he found a new term to cloak this notion with.

What a novel term. Such invention can only come from the Jewish-home-grown genius of such 'Jewish Home' party politicians as Bennett. His party comrade, Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked is not too bad either, with her genocide advocacies, with the "little snakes" metaphor for Palestinian children. But you have to hand it to Bennnett - whether it's comparing Palestinians to "shrapnel in the butt" or saying he "killed lots of Arabs and there's no problem with that", he really drives his point through.

And now he's really developing his terminology, it's becoming refined: "auto-anti-Semitism."

NYT "bestseller" pulled from list over dubious sales data

handbook for mortals
A novel called "Handbook for Mortals" had a very brief reign at the top of a New York Times best-seller list.

The paper confirmed Friday that it had pulled Lani Sarem's book from its young adult hardcover list for Sept. 3 because of "inconsistencies" in the reporting of sales. The announcement came after online complaints that "Handbook for Mortals" had benefitted from so-called "bulk sales," when hundreds or thousands of copies are ordered by a single buyer. On Twitter, young adult author Phil Stamper and others had questioned how a book they knew little about could reach No. 1 on the Times list.

"After investigating the inconsistencies in the most recent reporting cycle, we decided that the sales for 'Handbook for Mortals' did not meet our criteria for inclusion," the Times said in a statement issued through communications director Jordan Cohen. "We've issued an updated 'Young Adult Hardcover' list for September 3, 2017, which does not include that title."

Comment: It's probably easier to spot a relatively unknown fraud like this than a similar fraud also backed up by massive advertising and public exposure. The question is: how many of those NYT bestsellers are actually bestsellers?

A gran deported despite being in Britain for 30 years has been granted a visa to come back and live here.

Irene Clennell, who was Brit husband John's carer, was put in an immigration detention centre before being sent back to Singapore in March.

She had just £12 and no change of clothes when she was kicked out.

Irene, 53, who lived in County Durham and has two sons and a granddaughter, accused the Home Office of treating her "like a terrorist".

She said: "It is a bloody disgrace, they treat me like a terrorist and anything else under the sun. They embarrass me in front of everybody, the only thing I did wrong was marry a British man and want to stay in the country with my kids and my husband."

Villagers in eastern India beat two Muslim cattle truckers to death Sunday, police said, in yet another lynching on the pretext of protecting a beast considered sacred by many Hindus.

The drivers were transporting cows in West Bengal near the border of Bangladesh when they were stopped by villagers, police said.

"The villagers blocked the road and forced them to stop the vehicle. The two men were then dragged out of the vehicle and lynched. The driver of the vehicle escaped," said senior West Bengal police official Anuj Sharma.

It was too early to say whether the murders were motivated by religion or suspicions the men were mistreating the cows, police added.

Profiting from fraud: Google issuing refunds to advertisers over fake traffic

Some advertisers question level of refunds, want more details about fraudulent traffic

Google is issuing refunds for ads that ran on websites with fake traffic, people familiar with the situation said, as the web giant develops a tool to give marketers more transparency about the ads they buy through its platform.

In the past few weeks, the Alphabet Inc. unit has informed hundreds of marketers and ad agency partners about the issue with invalid traffic, known in the industry as "ad fraud." The ads were bought using the company's DoubleClick Bid Manager over the course of a few months this year, primarily in the second quarter.

Comment: Advertising costs remain one of Google's biggest revenue sources, so there's a conflicting motivation on their part to maximize advertising spend while keeping fraud in-check enough to instill the confidence in companies to spend money on Google ads. Since Google is by far the biggest game in town, advertisers really don't have much of a choice when advertising for search traffic.

One way or another, someone's making a lot of money off this fraud.

Indian authorities dispatch riot police and shut down internet service in two northern states of Punjab and Haryana, as self-proclaimed guru of a religious cult with a vast rural following is about to be sentenced following a rape trial.

Earlier this week, followers of the spiritual leader of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect, who calls himself Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insaan, burned down gas stations and set vehicles ablaze after a local court found him guilty of having raped two of his female followers in 2002.

Bombing trauma torments children brought home to Russia from Iraq

Orphane
Memories of war in Iraq still haunt the five children from southern Russia who were recently reunited with their families with the help of RT's campaign. We caught up with Fatima and Khadija in Makhachkala, Dagestan, to see how the girls are getting on.

There were joyous scenes earlier this week when five children, including the two sisters Khadija and Fatima, arrived on a plane to Grozny and were embraced by their families. But after witnessing terror, the deaths of their parents and spending time in a Baghdad orphanage, it is not easy for them to adjust back to normal life.

"[They spent] three days without food or water in a dusty, dirty basement. She told me that when there were bombs, they would run to a basement. And when she sees a helicopter now - Ah!!" Fatima's granddad Anwar told RT

"A helicopter, an airplane, she freaks out. I tell her not to be afraid, she asks "But who is inside there?"

Cops do nothing as white supremacist fires gun at black people, walks away

white supremist
As conspiracy theories about the deadly protests in Charlottesville earlier this month abound, a new video released by the ACLU adds some serious credence to some of these claims. In the video, we see a man wearing a bullet proof vest pull out a pistol in front of dozens of police officers, fire off a round and not a single cop budged.

"Hey, nigger!" the crazed racist says right before he fires his gun. Whether he was firing at a specific person or simply trying to terrorize the crowd was unclear. He appeared to be firing in the direction of Corey Long who was in an altercation with another group of people and had made a makeshift flame thrower with an aerosol can. However, what was entirely clear was the reaction from police - there wasn't one.

"We all heard it and ran - I know damn well they heard it," said Rosia Parker, a community activist in Charlottesville when speaking about the police. "They never moved."

The man who fired the shot was never arrested that day. In fact, not until two weeks later did police act. On Saturday, Richard W. Preston, 52, was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school during the so-called "Unite The Right" rally on Aug. 12. He is in custody in Towson, Maryland.

Is fake news network CNN faking its TV ratings too?

CNN fake news logo globe
CNN has reacted very badly to the political rise of President Trump, promulgating fake news and presenting an echo chamber of negative commentary. Now, the struggling news channel appears to be trying to manipulate the ratings.

Even if it's not the originator of the Fake News model that now largely defines the MSM, CNN has certainly perfected it. This past week, the situation seemed to rise to a shocking new level with the CNN programs that followed President Trump's prime time address to the nation on Afghanistan on Monday and his 80 minute speech Tuesday night to a campaign-style rally in Phoenix. On Tuesday, for example, CNN host Don Lemon followed Trump's speech with a live appearance by the channel's new contributor James Clapper, former director of National Intelligence in the Obama Administration. Putting it rather politely in an article on Wednesday, CNN said that Clapper:

Comment: A little bit of conspiratorial thinking so always good to exercise some skepticism, but since CNN clearly isn't above producing mounds and mounds of fake news and with its ratings tanking this year, they certainly haven't demonstrated any kind of integrity, journalistic or otherwise, so it stands to reason that they may very well be cooking the books on their ratings in order to delay failing completely as a company.
