A policeman in the US state of Ohio shot a photojournalist after mistaking his camera and tripod for a gun, New York Daily News newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The incident took place in the town of New Carlisle, as Andy Grimm, a photojournalist from a local newspaper, unloaded his tripod from his car to take photos of a traffic stop.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office deputy shot the journalist without warning, but rushed over to help as soon as he realized the mistake, the newspaper explained, adding that the policeman repeatedly stated that he thought the journalist was holding a gun rather than a camera.

The media outlet added that Grimm was injured in the chest and subsequently rushed to a hospital.

Pepe Escobar: How David Lynch's Twin Peaks unveils the dystopian world created by the West

atom bomb
When humanity, an evolving species, also became Destroyer of Worlds by splitting the atom, few were aware this was a point of no return.

MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) prevented the Cold War from going nuclear. MAD does not apply anymore. The US Congress is bent on annulling the 1987 Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, agreed between the US and the former USSR to ban the production of short and mid-range missiles.

If Washington starts building new nuclear mid-range missiles and stationing them in Europe, we will be under a new MAD specter.

Couple it with the DPRK's sixth nuclear test - which may have completed the process of miniaturization of a hydrogen bomb capable of being fitted to an ICBM. President Trump, in an official White House statement, has threatened to launch American "nuclear capabilities". President Putin has warned "the situation is balancing on the brink of a large-scale conflict."

Any attempt at denuclearizing (the Korean peninsula, or anywhere else) is a direct consequence of the original 1945 New Big Bang in White Sands, New Mexico, when Man, as Hinduism had anticipated it, played Creator and Destroyer.

And that brings us to Twin Peaks.

The social isolation of Silicon Valley conservatives

At liberal tech companies, those who disagree on politics say they're more isolated than ever before

Shashi Ramchandani, who manages a team of engineers at Google, has never been shy about being a conservative working in Silicon Valley. He showed coworkers emails he exchanged with Ivanka Trump after he mailed her photos he took at the Republican convention, and on election night, he texted colleagues snapshots from the floor of Trump's victory party in New York City. "They saw me first as a Googler, then as a conservative," Ramchandani said.

In his 14 years at the company, he said he hasn't felt like he had to keep his mouth shut - until last month when Google fired an engineer who penned a memo saying biological differences partly explain why more men work in tech than women.

Politics often don't mix easily at work, but it's particularly fraught in tech, where free thinking is prized yet the workforce is predominantly liberal. Now, as President Trump stirs up the culture wars at the same time as Silicon Valley faces a backlash for being so white and so male, conservatives in tech have their guards up like never before.

Activists tell RT: UK complicit in Israeli drones killing Palestinians

The UK is complicit in Israel's killing of Palestinians because it allows its drones to be produced and sold on British soil, a group of activists claim.

Protesters, mostly from the Palestine Action campaign group, have hit out at the UK for granting a space for the manufacturing of drones that Israel will use in what they say is the "ethnic cleansing" of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.

The Stop Arming Israel protest took place on Monday outside the Excel center, which is this week hosting the Defense and Security Equipment International (DSEI) conference, one of the world's largest arms fairs.

Protesters were trying to stop Israel's drone manufacturer Elbeit, which produces drones that are allegedly being used against Palestinian civilians in Gaza, from marketing its weaponry to people who are "profiting from the murder of innocent civilians".

Message for progressive left: 'If you want to see real Nazis, come to Ukraine'

Nazism in Ukraine
Ever since last month, the US media and the left wing politicians have been up in arm about alleged "rise of Nazism in America." By now, the coverage has been incessant and beyond hysterical, as pundits and 'antifascist' activists claim that a viable white supremacist movement is threatening to take over the country - which is a media-driven alternative reality.

What the America's liberal mainstream media establishment will not mention is the US government's own role, particularly that of the Obama Administration and Hillary Clinton's State Department (and funded by her campaign financier George Soros) in helping to fuel the scourge of Nazism in eastern Europe, in the Ukraine. Likewise, Republicans and so-called 'conservatives' will not want to mention party luminary Senator John McCain's own personal role in promoting Ukraine's Far Right parties and helping shoe-horn them into power in 2014 after a successful US-backed coup d'etat and putsch, and the disastrous junta which has followed.

A North Carolina man is using the bad dream defense - telling a 911 operator he awoke from slumber to find his wife stabbed to death and drenched in blood, reports said.

Matthew Phelps, 28, told the operator in Raleigh early Friday that he fell asleep after taking too much cold medicine and may have accidentally killed his wife in his sleep, ABC 13 reported.

"I think I killed my...," Phelps said to the operator, according to the outlet.

"What do you mean by that? What happened?" the dispatcher asked.

"I had a dream and then I turned on the lights and she's dead on the floor ... I have blood all over me and there's a bloody knife on the bed. I think I did it. I can't believe this," Phelps told the dispatcher.
