RT's crew has witnessed first-hand the violence in Jerusalem, as Israeli police violently dispersed Palestinians protesting Donald Trump's decision to recognize the city as Israel's capital. Around 230 Palestinians were injured in the clashes, the Red Crescent said.

Running battles between Palestinian protesters and Israeli security forces entered a fourth day, with violence reported in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza Saturday.

227 Palestinians were injured in clashes with Israeli police and military during the day, Red Crescent said in a statement. "171 people were wounded in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and 60 others - in Gaza," the statement read. Those wounded were hit with rubber bullets and suffered from tear gas inhalation, the Red Crescent added.

Vltchek: Cambodians continue to pervert their own history - for dollars

Cambodia tour
I have already written a lot about Cambodia, but each time I return to this ancient and scarred country, I get so outraged by the cynicism that confronts me there, at every corner, that I have to start writing again, re-addressing the same essential issues that I have already been covering for years and decades.

One question always comes back to my mind:

'How could a nation that suffered so much, losing hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of sons and daughters (official number stands at 1.7 million), accept a totally twisted narrative fabricated in Washington, London, Paris and other Western capitals? And not only 'accept' - Cambodia is actually profiting greatly from helping to spread vitriolic anti-Communist propaganda on behalf of its lethal handlers.'

In all the bookstores around the country, the official Western propaganda narrative ('Khmer Rouge killed them all' - style) is on display and on sale: Pol Pot's biographies, gruesome accounts from the so-called Killing Fields, from the torture chambers at the former high school 'S-21' in Phnom Penh, as well as countless and detailed testimonies of the victims.

Comment: The West, ie. the U.S., not only "pitched local people against each other" in Cambodia and at that time - but continues, to this day, to employ many of the same 'divide and conquer' tactics and methods (and some new ones) on a much more far-reaching scale. What may be even worse though, as the author points out, is the sheer numbers of people who, unaware or willfully ignorant, go along with it.

RT's audience are 'socially inferior', its 'pundits' cranks and fanatics or Why RT is a valuable source of #REALNEWS

Comment: SOTT ran this piece by Clark over three years ago. As you can see, it is slightly tongue-in-cheek. But since that time, this has gotten a whole lot more serious, with the full-on attack on RT from American authorities - and Clark demonstrates why RT is such a valuable source of real news. Russia Insider has a note about Clark:
The author is a well-known UK pundit who writes frequently on Russia. He is currently running a crowdfunding to raise money to fund his legal costs for his court case against Oliver Kamm, a writer for the Times newspaper, who he has sued for libel and harassment. If you like this article, please consider supporting this writer. He is one of the best out there on Russia.

For more info about that see: The Times, RT and Oliver Kamm, an Obsessed Neocon Stalker and Creepy London Times Moron Cyber-Stalks Leading UK Russia Expert (Video)

As RT UK launches, attacks on the channel in the British media have stepped up...

The latest is a piece by Mr. Cyril Waugh-Monger, a very important newspaper columnist for the NeoCon Daily, a patron of the Senator Joe McCarthy Appreciation Society and author of 'Why the Iraq War was a Brilliant Idea' and 'The Humanitarian Case for Bombing Syria.'

Dear socially inferior person reading this article. My name is Cyril Waugh-Monger (I'm called 'Mr Terribly Pompous Neo-Con' by my friends) and I'm here to tell you why on no account should you watch RT and why you should be making complaints to Ofcom about this dreadful channel so that in the interests of 'free speech' and 'democracy' we can get it off air.

1. RT doesn't peddle Russophobia

Outrageously, RT doesn't compare Vladimir Putin to Adolf Hitler. It doesn't join in with the demonization of Russia and its leader. How can we have a channel which is watched by people in Britain, which doesn't do that? We neocons say that demonization of Russia and its leader is compulsory. How dare RT not do as we say!

Comment: Keep watching the MSM!

Hollywood director Bryan Singer being sued by man who claims director made him his sex slave as a teen

Bret Tyler Skopek
© Bret SkopekBret Tyler Skopek
As Hollywood director Bryan Singer is being sued by a man who claims that he was sexually assaulted by Singer when he was a minor, another man is coming forward and accusing Singer of forcing him to be a sex slave while promising him a movie role, when he was a teenager.

When Bret Tyler Skopek met Singer at a Halloween party in October 2013, he told Deadline that the director was dressed in a Catholic priest costume. Singer has directed movies such as Superman Returns, Valkyrie and the X-Men series. Skopek claimed that when he met Singer, he was 18 years old, and the director lured him in with talk of a role in the next X-Men movie.

Comment: Notice how the title says "teen" as if it's trying to imply underage, minor, or pedophilia. Here he admits he was of legal age. If you're an adult, you're not "lured" you're "invited."

However, that promise was never fulfilled, and Singer is not the only one Skopek is accusing of sexual assault. He claimed that he began receiving text messages from a middle-aged computer technician after the party, who offered to help Skopek, as he was new to Los Angeles.

Comment: Promise was not fulfilled, therefore sexual assault. He's not even trying to hide it. If the promise had been fulfilled would it not be sexual assault?

Comment: At this point one has to wonder if there's any aspiring young male actors in Hollywood who didn't get caught up in Bryan Singer's "predation":

An 84-year-old Pennsylvania man turned out to be a challenge for burglars after he fought two intruders who broke into his house. The Korean War veteran, who sleeps with a loaded gun under his pillow, killed one of the attackers with a single shot.

Don Lutz, who lives in Ellport borough some 50 km from Pittsburgh, was awakened by the sound of glass shattering early Friday and saw two men breaking into his house, local media reported citing police. The 84-year-old man (some media report that he is actually 85) got out of bed, and was confronted by one of the intruders.

"I was in bed sleeping, they woke me up," Lutz later told KDKA TV, a CBS-affiliate. "Woken up to them busting in on my front door, and I went out in the hallway in the dark, and I met this one guy, and he went to grab me and that's when I shot him."

In the latest case of Hollywood's spiralling sexual abuse scandal, Variety reports that a veteran 58-year-old Disney executive has been charged with three felony counts of child sexual abuse. One of the reported victims was 15. The other was abused for four years starting at the age of 11, according to the charges.

His attorney Robert Helfend said Heely "vehemently denies these allegations."

SOTT Focus: Something, something ... Tax Cuts For The Rich

Croesus and Solon
© FineArtAmerica.comCroesus and Solon by Johann Georg Platzer. A story worth reading.
Truth is not what you want it to be; it is what it is, and you must bend to its power or live a lie. - Miyamoto Musashi
Writing about taxes is slightly less fun than being spit roasted by someone with cerebral palsy. Reading what someone wrote about taxes is probably akin to being tied to a chair with toothpicks holding your eyelids open and being forced to watch.

People used to like money. We all talk about the death of capitalism. Capitalism is dying, but not from flaws in its ideological substrata, but of fiscal ennui - no matter what the left says, greed is just too vital for modern capitalism. What we really have is the lethargic gluttony of crass consumerism. Can you blame the West? All those ratios and percentages, and progressive pass-through limited partnerships and blah blah blah. Greed used to be sexy, now whining about the 1% while twirling your dreadlocks in between puffs of medical marijuana is sexy.

Greed is dead.

Algerian customs authorities have seized a ship in the port of Algiers carrying three large containers loaded with Israeli made clothes and imported through a private company in Algiers from China, Echourouk newspaper reported.

The paper quoted customs sources as saying that they searched the containers after receiving information that a private importer had brought large quantities of Israeli made clothes for children, men and women.

According to the sources, the customs inspectors found clothes for children, men and women which had "Made in Israel" written on them in all the containers.

Dylan Farrow: Why has the #MeToo revolution spared Woody Allen?

woody_allen
Editor's Note: Woody Allen, who declined to comment prior to publication, has long denied the allegations described in this Op-Ed. Dylan Farrow's allegations against Allen were investigated by sex-abuse experts at Yale-New Haven Hospital, who found no evidence of abuse. Some questioned their methodology. A state's attorney in Connecticut said he had "probable cause" to prosecute in 1993 but did not file charges.

We are in the midst of a revolution. From allegations against studio heads and journalists, to hotel maids recounting abuses on the job, women are exposing the truth and men are losing their jobs. But the revolution has been selective.

I have long maintained that when I was 7 years old, Woody Allen led me into an attic, away from the babysitters who had been instructed never to leave me alone with him. He then sexually assaulted me. I told the truth to the authorities then, and I have been telling it, unaltered, for more than 20 years. Why is it that Harvey Weinstein and other accused celebrities have been cast out by Hollywood, while Allen recently secured a multimillion-dollar distribution deal with Amazon, greenlit by former Amazon Studios executive Roy Price before he was suspended over sexual misconduct allegations? Allen's latest feature, Wonder Wheel, was released theatrically on Dec. 1.

Allen denies my allegations. But this is not a "he said, child said" situation. Allen's pattern of inappropriate behavior - putting his thumb in my mouth, climbing into bed with me in his underwear, constant grooming and touching - was witnessed by friends and family members. At the time of the alleged assault, he was in therapy for his conduct towards me. Three eyewitnesses substantiated my account, including a babysitter who saw Allen with his head buried in my lap after he had taken off my underwear. Allen refused to take a polygraph administered by the Connecticut state police.

Common ties between Russian and US Orthodox Churches may benefit bilateral relations

Head of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, said at a meeting with the Orthodox Church in America (OCA) leader Metropolitan Tikhon of America and Canada on Wednesday that bilateral relations between the Russian and American Orthodox Churches remain at a high level and continue to develop.

Contacts between representatives of the Moscow Patriarchate and the Orthodox Church in America could "promote reconciliation and the establishment of good cooperation" between Russia and the United States, Patriarch Kirill said at a meeting with Tikhon of America and Canada.

"Given the complicated relations between Russia and the United States, the contacts of our churches are gaining special significance, because these contacts connect people who share a common faith, who have a common history, common spiritual values, and can, I am sure, serve as a link between our peoples, promote reconciliation and the establishment of good cooperation," Patriarch Kirill said at a meeting in his residence.

Metropolitan Tikhon, together with the heads of other local Orthodox churches, arrived in Moscow to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the patriarchate in the Russian Church and the election of Holy Hierarch Tikhon as the Patriarch in 1917.
