Officials at the Agriculture Department announced last month that the agency's computer network is blocking more than 400 websites, including social media companies Facebook and WhatsApp, in an attempt to stop employees and contractors from viewing pornography on agency time.

According to a Feb. 23 memo obtained by Federal News Radio, Chris Lowe, the agency's chief information security officer, told employees that the agency will prevent access to social media websites "not related to official department communications or business" beginning Wednesday. Accompanying the announcement was a list of more than 400 sites that will be blocked, including Snapchat in addition to Facebook and WhatsApp.

"The websites that are included in this block are attached to this message and should be reviewed to ensure official USDA business and communications is not impacted," Lowe wrote. "We have worked with the Office of Communications to ensure this list does not conflict with official USDA channels of communication, however, we ask that you review to check for impact to your mission areas and agencies."

Comment: It's a sad testament to the degradation of society that such measures need to be taken.

Italy shifts away from pro-EU leadership after election

italy
The Italian elections have resulted in the predicted swing against the centre-left pro-EU Democratic Party, the successor of Italy's once mighty Communist Party - the party of Togliatti and Gramsci - and today the Party of outgoing Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni and former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

From a position in 2008, when the Democratic Party won 37% of the vote in the parliamentary elections of that year, it fell to 25% of the vote in the elections of 2013, and has no fallen further to just 19% of the vote in the elections which have been held now.

The result is that the Democratic Party has now fallen to third place behind the combined Beppe Grillo's insurrectionary Five Star Movement (which won 32% of the vote) and the right wing alliance nominally led by Matteo Salvini but whose best know figure is Silvio Berlusconi, the individual who has dominated Italian politics since the Tangentopoli scandal of the early 1990s.

Employers are foregoing drug tests due to tight job markets and legalized pot

Employers struggling to fill jobs have begun to relax or eliminate drug testing requirements amid increased marijuana legalization and a tightening U.S. job market.

Drug testing has been standard procedure for decades across a variety of industries, ranging from finance to manufacturing to healthcare - which several employers have begun to eschew.

Las Vegas based Excellence Health Inc., for example, stopped testing employees for marijuana two years ago - and completely dropped drug tests in the beginning of 2018 for employees on the pharmaceutical side of the business. "We don't care what people do in their free time," said company spokesperson Liam Meyer. "We want to help these people, instead of saying: 'Hey, you can't work for us because you used a substance." The company also provides a hotline for workers who might be struggling with drug issues.

In February, AutoNation Inc. - the largest auto dealer in the country, announced it would no longer refuse job applicants who tested positive for marijuana, while the Denver Post ended pre-employment drug testing last September for all positions that don't require safety precautions.

As the Daily Caller reported in February, the manufacturing industry in Ohio has experienced stunted growth because many potential employees are also addicted to drugs - primarily opioids.

Comment: The Deep State psychopaths want to keep America drugged
As was predicted in Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, the Elite have a vested interest in keeping their subjugated populace drugged to the maximum extent possible so that they do not ever wake from their stupor in order to challenge their soft (and sometimes overt) tyranny over them.

Facebook shocks users after it asks if pedophiles should be able to ask children for 'sexual pictures'

Facebook is under fire for asking users whether pedophiles should be able to proposition underage girls for sexually explicit photographs on the giant social network.

The survey is the latest in a series of missteps by the Silicon Valley company, which has been criticized for allowing content that exploits children.

From violence on its Live streaming service to hate speech to divisive messages sent by Russian operatives trying to to meddle in the U.S. presidential election, toxic content flowing through its platform has heightened scrutiny of Facebook.

Facebook scrapped the survey that posed questions about teens being groomed by older men after it was spotted by media outlets in the United Kingdom. It now says the survey could have been better "designed."

Comment: How is it that the designers of the survey and those who approved it are so far removed from reality as to wonder whether it is okay or not to allow pedophiles to prey on children? Are they so involved in their bubbles that they've surrendered any ability to think and feel like normal human beings? It's no wonder Facebook use is on the decline - rightfully so!

Any foreigner suspected of aiding terrorist or extremist groups will be banned from entering Russia, according to a new bill prepared by lawmakers representing parliamentary majority party United Russia.

The draft amends the existing Russian law on entering and exiting the country that lists five reasons that could lead to an entry ban for a foreigner. These are: violation of border crossing rules, knowingly providing false information about oneself, repeated civil offenses, exceeding the allowed term of stay on Russian territory, and participation in a foreign or international NGO that is recognized as undesirable in Russia.

Once passed into law, the ban would apply to foreign citizens whose bank accounts have been frozen over suspicion of participation in money laundering or any activities of foreign and international terrorist and extremist organizations.

Turkish strikes in Syria's Afrin region reportedly kill 13 civilians

Turkish airstrikes have claimed the lives of more than a dozen civilians in Syria's northwestern region of Afrin as Ankara is continuing its cross-border military operation against the purported positions of US-backed militants from the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) there.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claimed that 13 civilians, including two children and three women, lost their lives on Monday when Turkish military aircraft bombarded Jindires town, located 20.9 kilometers southwest of Afrin.

The Britain-based monitor added the air raids also left scores of people injured, noting that the death toll is expected to rise as some of the wounded victims are in critical condition.

Comment: It's worth noting once again that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights isn't exactly a reputable organization. This doesn't necessarily absolve Turkey either, but it serves as a reminder that the situation in Syria is not cut and dry.

Cop smashes handcuffed woman's head in - takes 'trophy photo' to brag to friends

police brutality

A police officer split a handcuffed woman's head open for no reason, then charged her with a crime to cover it up. He was never fired, despite the incident being caught on video.

A Schenectady police lieutenant - who should've been fired and arrested multiple times - is still on the job in spite of brutally attacking an innocent handcuffed woman, smashing in her head, and then lying on a report, claiming she attacked him. What's more, after he split her head wide open, he took a picture of it so he could brag about it to his friends and fellow cops.

"This is what happens when someone hits one of my men," Lt. Mark McCracken would say as he showed off his trophy photo, bragging about severely injuring an innocent handcuffed woman in the midst of an emotional breakdown.

The victim, then 39-year-old Nicola Cottone had been picked up by police because she had been staying with a friend overnight and the person called city police because he wanted her to leave and she allegedly refused. Cottone had not been charged with a crime by Schenectady police.

Jonathan Davies-Brewin pedophile charges
A police officer has been found guilty of gross misconduct after attempting to meet what he thought was a teenage boy. Jonathan Davies-Brewin, 50, was unaware that he was actually speaking to a pedophile vigilante on a dating app.

Davies-Brewin was arrested in Braintree, where he had arranged to meet an individual who he believed to be a 15-year-old boy, after talking to him on the dating app Grindr. He was handed a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, on January 31.

On December 12, 2017, Davies-Brewin admitted a charge of attempting to meet a child under the age of 16 for the purpose of sexual grooming. Davies-Brewin was also given a Sexual Prevention Order for 10 years, and was put on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.

Anti-fascist protesters stormed an event by an 'alt-right' speaker at King's College London, Monday. Demonstrators wreaked havoc, successfully stopping the talk while scuffles broke out and windows were reportedly smashed.

Dramatic footage shows the moment the left-wing group stormed a lecture theater packed for a speech by Carl Benjamin. Benjamin, who goes online by the moniker of 'Sargon of Akkad', has been described by various outlets as a member of the so-called 'alt-right', although he describes himself as a "classic liberal".

Comment: Unhinged leftists aren't concerned with nuances - anyone who does not adhere to their defined ideology is deemed a threat and becomes a target.

The protesters grabbed the speakers' microphones before smashing windows and leaving threatening notes to the organizers, the Daily Mail reports. Videos also shows the protesters chanting "no fascism on campus," as alarms rang out in the background.
