Liberals attack FL Gov. Rick Scott over AGW denial after Hurricane Michael pummels Gulf coast

As Hurricane Michael pummeled the Gulf coast, a less deadly but equally ferocious media storm formed around Florida Governor Rick Scott, whose alleged climate change denial has been blamed for putting Floridians in harm's way.

Viral videos, New York Times op-eds, and Guardian contributors all highlighted Rick Scott's "backward stance" on climate change after Michael, a powerful typhoon, made landfall along the Florida Panhandle. According to these media reports and commentaries, Scott's "science denial"has endangered Florida residents. In other words, if Scott were more vocal about man-made climate change, Florida would have been better prepared for - or perhaps could have even prevented - the devastating hurricane.

"Florida is the state most endangered by climate change," declares a video published by Now This. "But Gov. Scott's strategy for dealing with it is denial."

Comment: There is actually very little evidence that humans are the cause behind climate change. Studies show that the Earth periodically warms and cools, as do all the other planets in our solar system. This liberal desire to blame the current climate issues on people is less about protecting people and more about getting the government involved in people's lives, which is a favorite pasttime for progressive liberals. This current incarnation of LIBERAL OUTRAGE has found its victim and its especially sweet for them because it's a dirty Republican.

The New York Times' Nicholas Kristof also took Scott to task for his stance on climate change, writing that "alas, denying climate change doesn't actually prevent it." He added: "Some folks will say this isn't the moment for politics. But don't we have a responsibility to mitigate the next disaster?"

Feminism's next victim: Beach handball players' bikini outfits deemed 'too revealing'

Female beach handball players competing at the Youth Olympics in Argentina have sparked a heated debate over bikini outfits they are wearing for matches in accordance with the International Handball Federation (IHF) rules.

Tight fitting tops and skimpy bikini bottoms have been deemed too revealing by fans who also claimed that the players, who are aged no older than 18, are the victims of sexual exploitation.

"The female handball players are competing in bikinis (wide but bikinis). They are exploited. I just want to make it clear men are watching their bottoms," one Twitter user wrote.

Comment: They are not "exploited". People have chosen to participate and to wear the traditional outfits used in the sport.

According to the IHF equipment regulations beach handball male players are obliged to wear tank top and shorts which "can be longer but must remain 10 cm above the kneecap," while female players are required to put on tops and bikini bottoms.

Comment: It's pretty simple. They are playing a sport, on a beach. There are practical reasons why their outfits are bikinis that fit tightly.

Russia will protect Orthodox believers in Ukraine if religious disputes go beyond lawful confrontation, Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov has said, adding that Moscow would only use political and diplomatic methods.

Peskov told reporters on Friday that if the developments in Ukraine "entered the sphere of unlawful activities" Moscow will protect the interests of Orthodox Christians just as it protects the interests of ethnic Russians and Russian-speakers.

He was replying to a question on what Russia's reaction would be if Ukrainian radicals start attacking and occupying places of worship that belong to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate).

After unproven rape allegations and street protests failed, a group of self-described 'witches' plan on stopping Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh the only way they know how: with magic spells and witchcraft. Really.

Catland, a bookstore in Brooklyn that describes itself as "Brooklyn's premiere occult bookshop & spiritual community space" is charging would-be witches $10 to come along on October 20 and put a "hex" on Justice Kavanaugh.

"Please join us for a public hex on Brett Kavanaugh, upon all rapists and the patriarchy at large which emboldens, rewards and protects them," reads the event page on Facebook. Witchcraft, it says, is "often the only weapon, the only means of exacting justice available to those of us who have been wronged by men just like him."

Kavanaugh isn't the only target, and patrons are advised to "bring your rage and and all of the axes you've got to grind." Half of the proceeds on the night will be donated to Planned Parenthood and the Ali Forney Center, an LGBT youth charity.

Russian government supports bill allowing use of phone geolocation data to search for missing children

© Sputnik / Natalia SeliverstovaGeolocation data is priceless for rescuers who search for missing children because their location in the first hours or even minutes after going missing can be of decisive importance in the search-and-rescue operation.
The Russian government has supported a bill that would allow police and rescuers to quickly access geolocation data on the phones of missing children in emergency situations.

News of the government's support for the bill was announced on Friday by the main sponsor of the legislation, MP Irina Yarovaya (United Russia).

The motion, drafted in mid-July this year, obliges operators of mobile services to disclose geolocation data on children's phones when they get a written request from parents or guardians approved by a senior officer of the law enforcement agency that conducts search-and-rescue operations for missing children.

When a child's sim card is registered in a third party's name, this person should also provide written consent for the data disclosure.

More than 500 commuters were forced to evacuate a train traveling from Cologne to Frankfurt after one of the cars suddenly caught fire.

The ICE 511 train was on its way to Munich at 6:35am local time when it caught fire between stations in Siegburg and Montabaur. A police officer was the first to notice the fire on board, and was reportedly instrumental in raising the alarm and evacuating its nearby occupants before someone was seriously injured.

A New York man is under arrest for allegedly plotting to blow himself up on the National Mall on election day. Paul Rosenfeld, 56, wanted to kill himself to draw attention to his "radical political beliefs," authorities said.

As alleged, Paul M. Rosenfeld concocted a twisted plan to draw attention to his political ideology by killing himself on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. risking harm to many others in the process," said U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman. "Rosenfeld's alleged plan for an Election Day detonation cut against our democratic principles."

Rosenfeld allegedly supported a political belief called sortition, which advocates for random selection of government officials. He bought large quantities black powder over the internet to build a large bomb in his basement, authorities said. He had previously made and tested other small bombs, according to authorities.

Comment: From Wikipedia:
In governance, sortition (also known as choice by lot, allotment, or demarchy) is the selection of political officials as a random sample from a larger pool of candidates.

Trade turnover between Russia and China has been rapidly growing, rising 30 percent to reach $77 billion from January to September, statistics from China's General Administration of Customs show.

The volume of exports from China to Russia has grown by almost 13 percent, exceeding $35 billion. Imports of Russian goods surged by around 40 percent to $42 billion, said the customs service.

Last month, trade turnover between the two countries was more than $9 billion.

China is Russia's largest trading partner, accounting for 15 percent of Russian international trade in 2017. The two countries expect bilateral trade to hit $100 billion this year and plan to steadily boost it to $200 billion by 2024.

Comment: While Russia and China continue to facilitate mutual growth of their economies, the US' belligerent threats only reduces its share of global trade.

An Air India passenger plane made an emergency landing in Mumbai after hitting a wall during take-off, damaging the aircraft.

The airline, which is India's national carrier, said in a statement that the Boeing 737 aircraft took off from Trichy Airport in southern India early on Friday without noticing that it had hit the perimeter wall. Luckily, airport officials spotted the collision and contacted the plane's pilots.

The plane was then diverted to Mumbai, where it landed safely - although the aircraft sustained some damage.

Britain's leading medical museum taken over by postmodern ideology, renames women to 'womxn' to be more inclusive

The Wellcome Collection - one of Britain's leading medical museums - has upset many women by demeaning their sex with the unpronounceable, politically correct, trans-inclusive euphemism "womxn".

The "x" where the "e" should be is, of course, there to accommodate all those hordes of transgender activists who want to identify as women, even though biologically they remain as male as ever they were when they emerged from their mother's womb with a set of boys' dangly bits.

Quite understandably a lot of real women are unhappy about this invasion of their territory.

If the trans rights movement were a zombie aimed at destroying Western Civilisation - and it is - then it wouldn't be one of the stumbling, shambling ones you see on Walking Dead. It would be one of those zombies-on-speed you see haring over the walls of Jerusalem in World War Z.

Which is to say no other identity politics movement has suborned our culture with such terrifying rapidity as trans rights.

Comment: The rapidity of the growth of the transgender movement is concerning in the fact that never before has such a movement infiltrated everything from education to corporation. It's the perfect expression of what can only be termed as liberal fascism and embodies the ideology of postmodernists so well; making reality out of fiction and ensuring 'diversity' and 'compassion' with an iron fist.
