Middle East expert: 'Russia killing top ISIS leader should compel US to seek bilateral cooperation'

Abu Mohammad al-Adnani

The time is ripe for the US to seek cooperation with Russia in battling terrorists in Syria, and better before the G20 Summit in China where the two sides may hold side talks, Ali Rizk, Middle East expert, told RT.

Russia's military has confirmed one of ITS air strikes was responsible for killing key ISIS leader Abu Muhammad al-Adnani.

RT: How important was Al-Adnani. We hear he was a head of communications, the media representative so to speak. How instrumental was he in spreading the group's propaganda which has become such an important tool for them?

Ali Rizk: Yes, indeed, when it comes to propaganda or distributing videos, yes, he was the main man, we can say. It is very important to know that Al-Adnani was very close personally to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. If you recall al-Zarqawi, who was killed in the US airstrike in Iraq in 2006, it was al-Zarqawi who began with the practice of beheadings on video - filming beheadings and then distributing them throughout world. This practice goes back to Al-Adnani, who was a founder of al-Qaeda in Iraq. Al-Adnani used the same procedures, or the same practices, which he got from his teacher...

Comment: This presumes that the Americans even sincerely want to get rid of ISIS. So far, ISIS has just been a convenient tool towards the aim of destabilizing Assad's government and/or attempting to balkanize Syria towards its own ends. The war criminals in Washington are also consummate liars who consider Russia's killing of Al-Adnani "a joke" because Washington is, falsely claiming credit for it.

Turkey has taken on a new role: From NATO lapdog to emerging empire

Turkey
The recent Turkish coup attempt marks a turning point in NATO's war on Syria. An emerging empire and portal to the orient, Turkey has always played a key role in NATO's 'Drang Nach Osten'- the drive to encircle Russia, destroy its client-states Syria and Ukraine, and serve as a bulwark against other emerging powers such as Iran. But now it seems Turkey may no longer be carrying out its designated role.

That the United States was behind the coup attempt there is little doubt, though some prominent analysts such as Thierry Meyssan disagree that the coup was orchestrated by Gülenists. Fethullah Gülen is known to be close to the CIA and the U.S. obmutescence during the coup was typical of standard procedure during U.S. covert regime change operations.

While Erdoğan is unquestionably a war criminal who is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocents in Syria and Libya and heavy repression at home, nonetheless, as in the case of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein, the Turkish leader seems to have fallen out of favour in the West. The media have already begun the predictable, clichéd demonisation process - publishing pictures of the Turkish incumbent's opulent palaces etc.

Turkey desperately needs a new, progressive regime, which would contribute to peace in the Middle East. But if the choice is between a monster the CIA wants out and a monster the CIA wants in, the latter is the best option as it weakens U.S. imperialism.

G20 Summit 'honey trap' warning: Prime Minister's officials have been warned to take steps to protect themselves from being seduced by Chinese spies

Theresa May's officials have been warned to avoid "honey traps" amid fears that the Prime Minister's team will be targeted by Chinese spies offering sex during the G20 summit.

British government aides have fallen victim to spying on previous official trips to China, with one Downing Street official reported to have had his mobile phone and secret documents stolen after he was seduced.

Government security chiefs are anxious to avoid a repeat of the incident, which took place during a visit by Gordon Brown in 2008, and have provided detailed guidance to Mrs May's team.

The Prime Minister's officials have been warned to take steps to protect themselves during the G20 summit, which begins on Sunday.

Officials traveling with Mrs May have been issued with temporary mobile phones and email addresses in an attempt to evade Chinese state hackers.

Security advisers are also warning staff not to keep gifts they receive and to be particularly wary of electronic devices, such as free computer memory sticks, mobile phone SIM cards or chargers which they are offered by their Chinese hosts.

Killary's 'Oh S**t' Moment — secret email server was wiped AFTER receiving subpoena

clinton email server bleachbit
Hillary Clinton and her staff's utter bumbling of State Department emails has now been revealed to have included a transfer to Gmail and a lost laptop and thumb drive — meaning a good portion of national security secrets could very well still be floating around with nary a shred of security to protect them.

Following Clinton's resignation from the State Department in February 2013, as Zero Hedge reports, one of her closest aides, Monica Hanley, set about archiving emails which had resided on the personal server created by IT staffer Bryan Pagliano with assistance from Bill Clinton's aide, Justin Cooper.

Hanley — working "from her personal residence" — and Cooper managed to successfully transfer the email archive from that server to an Apple MacBook with a copy saved to a thumb drive, according to documents from the FBI investigation, which were released Friday.

From there, the already makeshift plan began to fall apart in perhaps the worst display of incompetence from State Department employees.

"The two copies of the Clinton e-mail archive (one on the Archive laptop and one on the thumb drive) were intended to be stored in Clinton's Chappaqua and Whitehaven residences; however Hanley explained this did not occur as Hanley forgot to provide the Archive laptop and the thumb drive to Clinton's staff following the creation of the archive," FBI documents state, with all emphasis added.

SOTT Focus: The Truth Perspective: Introducing Political Ponerology, plus some odds and ends

library
One book is missing...
This week on the Truth Perspective we begin the first of a series of discussions on Dr. Andrew Lobaczewski's underground classic Political Ponerology. We'll be taking the book chapter by chapter over the coming months, distilling the most important points in the book and giving examples to help enrich readers' experience and understanding of the work. Ponerology really is one of the most important books ever written, so we hope our conversation will make clear some of what it has to offer. First up is the Introduction: what inspired the writing of the book, and what does it have to offer the world?

Following this discussion, covered some odds and ends: interesting books we've been reading, current events like the recent Eastern Economic Forum and upcoming G20 meeting in China, followed by a Police State Roundup with Brent.

Turkey opens new front in northern Syria, sends tanks to al-Rai west of Jarablus

Gaziantep

Turkish tanks and other armored vehicles have entered Syria's northern province of Aleppo and shelled Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) positions in the area, opening up yet another battlefront within the last two weeks, various media outlets reported.

Turkey sent tanks into the town of al-Rai, located in Aleppo Province as part of its Euphrates Shield operation aimed at pushing both IS and Kurdish militants away from the border, Turkey's Hurriyet Daily News reported Saturday.

Turkish vehicles opened fire on IS installations located in the region, according to the country's Dogan news agency.

"The operations are to work from al-Rai towards the villages that were liberated west of Jarablus," Colonel Ahmed Osman of the Sultan Murad rebel group told Reuters, confirming that the operation is taking place in cooperation with Turkey.

Comment: On September 2, the Turkish General Staff say Turkish jets launched strikes on 3 buildings held by Daesh fighters near Jarablus. The same day, Erdogan expressed his disbelief in American statements that Kurdish YPG elements had truly crossed back to the east side of the Euphrates: "No, they [YPG] have not retreated [from areas bordering Turkey]. We base this on our own data. We do not believe the US claims that the terrorists have moved to the east of Euphrates."

The next day, in Hakkari, southeastern Turkey, the military claimed to have killed over 100 PKK militants, losing 7 soldiers and 21 wounded in the fighting. That same day in southeastern Van province, 8 Turkish soldiers and 11 PKK fighters were killed in clashes.

Meanwhile, according to a Russian diplomat, Ilya Rogachev, the head of the Department for New Challenges and Threats (DNCT) at the Russian Foreign Ministry, Turkey continues to facilitate reinforcements for al-Nusra in Syria:
"We see that the opposition in general and Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham in particular keep receiving enforcements through the Syrian-Turkish border... This and other issues create uncertainty in the relations with the Americans," Rogachev told RIA Novosti. He added that Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham, banned in Russia, is constantly maneuvering, takes in new opposition forces, makes new coalitions to blend in with the so-called moderate opposition.

Russia to Resume, Strengthen Counter-Terrorism Dialogue With Turkey

Russia will resume and strengthen its counter-terrorism dialogue with Turkey, the diplomat said. "The political decisions have been made and we, of course, should, and we definitely will relaunch and then develop and strengthen counter-terrorism dialogue that we had with Turkey some time ago," Rogachev told RIA Novosti. "Obviously, we have certain expectations and hopes related to the soon relaunch of this dialogue, we hope that the Turkish side feels the same," he added.

Best of the Web: Hillary Clinton: Political psychopath, career criminal, root of all corruption (VIDEOS)

Killary
Throughout her entire private and public career, Hillary Clinton has proven herself to be a perfect politician. In other words, she has shown herself to have no moral scruples, to be duplicitous, corrupt, arrogant, greedy, aggressive, self-serving. She is a pathological liar, an inveterate cheat, a war-loving political murderer, and an opportunistic shill who makes herself available to the highest bidder. These two videos from Anonymous's YouTube channel are devastating.

With less than a year to go to secure the hearts of the French people, Marine Le Pen, the leader of far-right party National Front, is offering something no other politician has on their agenda - the choice of leaving the EU. She also promised to defend 'French values' and ban the burkini.

Giving her annual speech to the nucleus of her political support in Brachay, northeastern France, where she managed to secure the greatest percentage vote in any village in the country in the 2012 presidential election, her nationalist-conservative constituents welcomed her vision.

After announcing her ambitions to join the presidential race earlier this year, Le Pen used the UK's June decision to leave the European Union to her advantage, promising to hold a similar 'Frexit' referendum if elected.

"The British had the courage to choose independence despite all the prophets of doom," she said.

"This referendum on France belonging to the European Union, I will do it. Yes it is possible to change things. Look at the Brits, they chose their destiny, they chose independence," Le Pen said. "We can again be a free, proud and independent people."

Paraguayan authorities issued an alert because of an assassination attempt on life of country's President Horacio Cartes on the part of local drug mafia, Paraguayan Interior Minister Francisco de Vargas said.

He added that country's security agencies had been checking information about involvement of druglord Jarvis Pavao Ximenes in the assassination attempt.

"We proceed from the assumption that it would be the worst scenario. Therefore we have strengthened security of the president and other authorities," Vargas said, as quoted by the Paraguayan Interior Ministry on Friday, speaking about the threat of attacks planned by drug mafia.
