The admission by the former Pakistani defense maven adds weight to what India has been saying since the attack almost 10 years ago.

Mahmud Ali Durrani, former Pakistan National Security Advisor, admitted that Pakistan-based groups were behind the Mumbai attacks of November 26, 2008.

Though Durrani said the Pakistan government had no role in the attacks, his admission has added heft to Indian claims that the Mumbai attacks were hatched and carried out by Pakistani terror groups.

"26/11 Mumbai strike, carried out by a terror group based in Pakistan, was a classic trans-border terrorist event," Durrani said at a conference on combating terrorism at a defense think-tank in Delhi.

Delusional US ex-intel chief Clapper believes Russia-Trump claims, despite 'no evidence to his knowledge'

James clapper DNI

Former US Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has said on NBC's Meet the Press show that he is unaware of any evidence that the Russian government colluded with the Trump campaign during the US election, but still believes contacts existed.

"We didn't include evidence in our report that had any reflection of collusion between members of the Trump campaign and the Russians. There was no evidence of that included in our report," Clapper said, referring to a paper compiled by the NSA, FBI and CIA, together with the office of the DNI.

When asked if such proof even existed, he said: "Not to my knowledge."

Comment: Clapper is still clinging to a narrative that might explain Killary's 'inexplicable' loss of the election. It must be more comforting than the one where the citizens recognized she is a elite-controlled, corrupt, criminal warmonger.

Dear President Trump: Iran is a nation of peace-loving people!

Happy Iranians
© Atta Kenare / AFP
According to Western media, the Iranian Islamic Republic is the source of all evil in the world. Its very existence is a threat to all God-fearing, peace-loving nations, most of all the United States - this shining beacon of tolerance.

Ever since Iran had the audacity to proclaim itself independent within the limit of its national borders - imagine the nerve! - thus began the demonization of a nation, a system of governance, and faith.

Over the past decades, the Islamic Republic has been accused of many grave sins, the majority of which were born in the depth of US propagandists' hyperactive imagination. From Tehran's purported hegemonic political ambitions to its pursuit of nuclear technology, Iran has existed in a vacuum - the one nation to be feared and abhorred, so that America could rise like a Sun in all political galaxies.

Control over six villages to the west of the Syrian city of Manbij has been turned over to the Syrian Army, sources in the Manbij Military Council (MMC) said.

According to the sources, control over the villages was handed over to Syrian forces as a result of an agreement with Russia. The move aims to prevent a possible attack by Turkish troops and units of the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

On condition of anonymity, a senior MMC official told Sputnik Turkey that six villages were placed under control of the Syrian Army and that the United States delivered a large shipment of weapons to northern Manbij.

"These six villages were liberated from Daesh during the Al-Bab operation. They are located 22 kilometers to the west from Manbij. Under an agreement with Russia they are now under control of the Syrian Army," the official said.

Russian Central Bank continues to crack down on shady lenders

An official at the Central Bank of Russia says the regulator will continue to revoke licenses of fraudulent or unstable banks for another two years. Since 2013, the number of banks in Russia has shrunk from 900 to 570.

Despite a large number of closed banks, crime is still popping up, and the regulator needs until 2019 to finish the crackdown, said Vasily Pozdyshev, a deputy governor at Russia's central bank in an interview with Reuters.

It is likely Russia will end up with 400 lenders in two years, but there is no target number, according to the official.

"Our work to clean up the banking system is sometimes much more like the work of a financial investigator, an investigator of financial crimes, than the work of a modern banking regulator, which checks whether a bank is sufficiently capitalized or not," said Pozdyshev.

"We are up against a whole business of creating fictitious borrowers. ... This is a whole virtual world managed by IT programs and servers which very often aren't located in the bank," he said.

Here's why Bashar al-Assad's brand of Ba'athism is the right solution for Syria

Bashar flag
© Blogs Financial Times
Far from being a 'dictator' President Assad leads a progressive, modern, secular state which is being attacked because of its independence.

Ba'athism can be viewed from two different perspectives: firstly by its objective virtues, and secondly by its opposition. Ba'athism, as a political theory, combines Arab nationalism with socialist ideas, high quality secular education, a mixed economy, and a strong central government that oversees a secular society in which all religions are treated equally and worship is freely allowed.

It was a philosophy adopted by several post-colonial Arab states. With the exception of a few occasions where Ba'athists argued over whether or not to pursue Nasserist Pan-Arabism, modern Ba'ath parties concentrate on a single state, although many still see Pan-Arabism as a noble ideal. This especially became the case after the Ba'athist party split in 1966 in Syria, where many of the new militant Syrian Ba'athists expelled the old guard, who fled to Iraq. Iraq and Syria became enemies thereon, and relations between the two countries never fully recovered.

Comment: FYI: Ba'athism (meaning "renaissance" or "resurrection") is an Arab nationalist ideology that promotes the development and creation of a unified Arab state through the leadership of a vanguard party over a progressive revolutionary government.

Ba'ath party: Arab political party, in Syria and in Iraq. Its main ideological objectives are secularism, socialism, and pan-Arab unionism. Founded in Damascus in 1941 and reformed, with the name Ba'ath, in the early 1950s, it rapidly achieved political power in Syria.

Comment: All countries have the right to figure out governance for themselves and the Syrian model is a whole lot better than most.

Concern high as number of civilians displaced from Mosul reaches 200K

The number of refugees fleeing Mosul continues to escalate, as the Iraqi government makes significant gains in its battle against Islamic State in the city. With more than 200,000 escapees since last October, it is now on the verge of a humanitarian disaster.

"Forty-five thousand people have left their houses in the last nine days. The numbers are expected to increase - there is huge concern for them. All organizations are working overtime to expand the available camps, and to build new ones," Hala Jaber, a spokesperson for the International Organization for Migration - which calculated the 200,000 figure using its complex Displacement Tracking Matrix - told RT.

More than half of those who have fled are children and the majority of the rest women. The UN estimated at the end of February, that 250,000 people could leave the city in the coming weeks - home to about 750,000 before the siege. Iraq's minister of displacement and migration said there was a "shortfall" in the work of international agencies in coping with the mass exodus.

Comment: There are so many basic necessities needed for completely displaced populations. Who is going to provide these? Even worse off are those who have no way out of the city and are forced to stay. Terrible and more terrible options for hundreds of thousands of folks who never chose this destiny, pawns in the play-out of self-serving, psychopathic agendas. Not safe to stay, no safe way out.

Netanyahu to meet with Putin, rebuke Iran's influence in Syria

Bibi
© Reutersmedia"Vlad...it's me, your little Bibi. Promise me no more Iran. They annoy, I suffer. Oy gevalt!"
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on March 9 to express his opposition to what he described as Iran's attempts to establish a permanent foothold in Syria.

"Iran is trying to establish itself permanently in Syria, with a military presence on the ground and at sea, and also a gradual attempt to open a front against us on the Golan Heights," Netanyahu said on March 5. Netanyahu said he would state "Israel's sharp and vigorous opposition to this possibility" at the meeting with Putin.

Comment: Whose Golan Heights were they before Israel usurped them? Syria's.

Iran has been a major backer of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, providing him with military and financial support. Russia, also a key Syria backer, has conducted military air strikes in support of Assad.

Israeli officials have warned against Iran's growing influence in the region.

Putin and Netanyahu last met in June 2016, when Putin called Israel a "key country" for the Middle East.

Comment: Bibi is a political squeaky wheel that uses annoyance to his advantage. He deflects Israel's actions onto his 'enemies', then demands someone else fix it. Part and parcel of his repetitious whining is the calculation that when persistence becomes overly annoying, he will likely get someone else to do what he wants. It has worked so far.

Hollande claims his 'ultimate duty' is to ensure France won't choose Le Pen

In an interview with several European newspapers, outgoing French President Francois Hollande said that his "ultimate duty" before leaving office is to prevent Le Pen from winning the upcoming presidential election in France.

The interview was published in Le Monde, La Stampa, the Guardian, La Vanguardia, Suddeutsche Zeitung, and Gazeta Wyborcza.

"My ultimate duty is to make sure that France is not won over by such a program, and that France does not bear such a heavy responsibility," Hollande emphasized.

Hollande added that the "threat" of a Le Pen victory "exists," because "the far right haven't had such high level [of support] for the past 30 years," Le Monde reported.

Kiev resolves UkroNazi blockade at Konotrop railway

Kiev blockade Ukrainian Railways Konotop
The Company "Ukrainian Railways" ( "UZ") reported that the situation with the blocking of railway communication from Russia in the city of Konotop resolved.

"The participants agreed to not hinder the blockade of trains movement and leave the lock," - stated the company's press-service.

"Ukrzaliznytsya" also said that the railroad agreed to provide monthly a state deputy giving information - the railroad will send the participant with information about the goods transported between Ukraine and Russia.

Comment: Donbass and Kiev have established yet one more ceasefire regime. But, as the DPR Defense Director said, "We will see whether Ukraine [will] manage to control radicals."

For more info, check out: Donbass is breaking away from an agonized Ukraine
Let's sum all this up:
  1. The Urkonazis completely close down the unofficial border with Novorussia
  2. Russia recognizes Novorussian documents
  3. The DNR and LNR nationalize all the Ukrainian industry in the Donbass
  4. The Ukronazis declare that the line of contact is now to be considered a border
  5. The Novorussians declare that the Russian Ruble is the only legal currency in Novorussia
  6. The Novorussians will now export their entire production of coal/anthracite to Russia
  7. All the factories in Novorussia will no longer pay taxes to Kiev
I don't know about you - but to me this sure looks like the DNR and LNR are cutting off their last ties to the Ukraine and the junta in Kiev appears to go along with this plan.
