Stirring the pot: SPLC warns of turmoil as it publishes new 'hate map' identifying Confederate monuments, cities and schools

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a far-left outfit that labels mainstream conservative organizations "hate groups" and whose "hate map" inspired a terrorist attack in 2012, has released a map of every Confederate monument in America. But the map does not just include statues: it also lists towns, cities, counties, and even middle schools that bear the names of Confederate generals.

"More than 1,500 Confederate monuments stand in communities like Charlottesville with the potential to unleash more turmoil and bloodshed," the SPLC posted with the map (emphasis added). "It's time to take them down" (emphasis original).

The post urges visitors to send a letter to the editor of their local newspaper. "White supremacists incited deadly violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, last week in defense of a Confederate monument. We must show the country that [your city's or county's name] gives no safe harbor to such hatred. We must remove the monument at [location]," the sample letter read.

Windows machines are targeted by the CIA under 'Angelfire,' according to the latest release from WikiLeaks' 'Vault7' series. The documents detail an implant that can allow Windows machines to create undetectable libraries.

'Angelfire' consists of five components - 'Solartime,''Wolfcreek,' 'Keystone,' 'BadMFS,' and the 'Windows Transitory File system,' according to a statement from WikiLeaks released on Thursday.

'Solartime' modifies the partition boot sector of Windows XP or Windows 7 machines when installed, allowing the 'Wolfcreek' implant to load and execute. 'Wolfcreek' can then load and execute other 'Angelfire' implants.

Previously known as 'MagicWand,' 'Keystone' loads malicious user applications on the machine which never touch the file system, leaving "very little forensic evidence that the process ever ran" according to WikiLeaks.

More than five dozen human rights groups petitioned permanent representatives of member and observer states of the United Nations Human Rights Council demanding an independent probe into the worst, and perhaps most underreported, humanitarian crisis in the world: the bloody conflict in Yemen and its public health consequences.

Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and 60 other human rights watchdogs from around the globe signed a letter to the UN council renewing calls to investigate alleged violations of international law in Yemen, where a Saudi-led coalition has battled Houthi rebels since 2015. The Saudis allege the Houthis receive substantial backing from their Iranian rivals. Daesh also has a presence in the war-torn nation through a group called ISIL-YP.

Beijing has said it will not allow war or chaos on the Korean Peninsula, as two US B-1B bombers conducted a new flight in the area, joined by South Korean and Japanese fighter jets in a show of force amid mounting tensions.

The statement was made by defense ministry spokesman Ren Guoqiang at a monthly news briefing on Thursday, Sina reports.

Six American warplanes - two nuclear-capable B-1B strategic bombers and four Marine Corps F-35Bs - held a joint flight operation with Japanese F-15 fighter jets on Thursday, Japan's Air Self-Defense Force (ASDF) said in a statement. The squadron flew near the island of Kyushu, south of the Korean Peninsula.

Following that, the US warplanes, accompanied by South Korean F-15K fighter jets, conducted a joint operation over South Korea as well as bombing drills over the Pilseung range in the eastern province of Gangwon, according to Yonhap.

Pakistan court declares former President Musharraf fugitive from justice in assassination of PM Benazir Bhutto

Musharraf
Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf arrives at court in Islamabad in April 2013.
A court in Pakistan on Thursday named Pervez Musharraf, the country's former President and army chief, a fugitive from justice in the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, who was killed while campaigning in 2007.

But the court's decision to drop charges against five members of the Pakistani Taliban linked to the killing has sparked anger from some supporters of Bhutto.

The court ordered Musharraf's property to be seized in what his attorney, Faisal Chaudhary, described as a "disappointing and a flawed judgment."

Dishonoring Robert E. Lee and the undermining of American ideals

Robert E Lee statue
It may seem that the people that have defined America through countless personal sacrifices would finally be left in peace in their final stay. However, thatโ€™s not the case.
The utter deconstruct of the United States of America is underway. Those American "values" former President Barack Obama and his cadre parroted at us, they'll soon be lost like tears in rain. Charlottesville, Virginia and the hysterical liberal response to those events, are of a foreboding all Americans should fear.

Everyone with the sense God gave a goose knows that Jeff Bezos' turned the Washington Post into a wretched rag of a newspaper from the moment he took it over. But an opinion piece entitled "Robert E. Lee is worth remembering. Just don't honor him" by Richard Cohen is cause to burn the once venerable clarion to the ground. Twenty years ago I'd have made the trip to the WP's doorstep to ignite the bonfire myself. Cohen's character assassination of one of America's most venerated heroes is a pitiful reminder that money is the kindling to all manner of caddish hatred. While I shall not waste one more sentence in description of this misogynist, lying scoundrel of a syndicated columnist. I will however offer to meet him at a time of his choosing on the field of honor, confident in my own ability with whatever weapons he chooses. What a piece of work this man is.

"A true man of honor feels humbled himself when he cannot help humbling others." - Robert E. Lee

The battle to recapture the ISIS stronghold of Raqqa by the US-led Syrian Democratic Forces is costing the lives of 27 civilians a day, the UN estimates. And while the terrorists use residents as human shields, the US-led coalition often bombs escape routes.

"The UN estimates that an average of 27 people are being killed in Raqqa, every day," Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Stephen O'Brien told the UN Security Council Wednesday.

O'Brien noted that up to 25,000 civilians are still trapped in the Islamic State-besieged (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) city and are being slaughtered in the crossfire between the sides in the ongoing battle, the last phase of which began in June.

"They risk being killed, either by airstrikes, or by ISIL snipers or mines if they try to flee, or being used as human shields if they remain," O'Brien noted, urging all sides of the conflict to spare civilian lives.

Germany's top diplomat has backed the suggestion of Social Democrat (SPD) leader and Chancellor hopeful Martin Schulz, who has pledged to rid his country of US nukes. Washington, meanwhile, is pressing ahead to modernize its nuclear stockpile.

Sigmar Gabriel's remarks came at the end of his official visit to the US Wednesday.

"Certainly, I am convinced that it is important to finally talk again about the arms control and disarmament," Gabriel told the DPA news agency, as quoted by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper.

"That's why I think that Martin Schulz's words that in the end we need to get rid of the nuclear weapons in our country, are right."

Gazprom said on Thursday 220 kilometers of the gas pipeline to Turkey has been laid under the Black Sea.

"The sea part of the project has seen 220 kilometers of two lines of pipes being laid," said Gazprom CEO Aleksey Miller.

The Turkish Stream or TurkStream pipeline has been under construction since May this year. The pipeline will go from Russia's Black Sea coast beneath the sea to Turkey, and extend to the border with Greece.

It will see two lines; the first will be for the Turkish market, the second for gas to the countries of South and South-Eastern Europe. Each line has a capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters per year.

The length of the sea part of the pipeline will be about 910 kilometers and another 180 kilometers on land in Turkey.
