Trey Gowdy's response to Trump: "There's going to be a Russia probe, even without a dossier"

trey gowdy
Former Rep. Trey Gowdy
In his interview taped Saturday for Sunday on Face the Nation, Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-South Carolina, responded to President Trump's claim that the controversial release of a memo, alleging the FBI and Department of Justice abused their authority to spy on the Trump campaign, "totally vindicated" the president of wrongdoing in the Russia probe.

The memo was released over strong objections from the intelligence community which argued the memo contained inaccuracies and would have a chilling effect on intelligence sharing and cooperation. Democrats also objected, expressing concern Republicans were using the memo to undermine special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation and that the memo took facts out of context.

Comment: Will the investigation continue the nothing burger that is the Russiagate nonsense, or will it finally conclude and establish once and for all that it was a witch hunt conducted by the deep state? See more:

Russian lawmakers say that Russia must find out where Syrian militants got MANPADS that downed Su-25

Russian lawmakers have called for a thorough investigation on the origins of the man-portable missile launcher that was likely used by militants in Syria to shoot down a Russian fighter jet before killing the pilot in a firefight.

"Certainly, we will investigate, including a great many things: from the type of the MANPADS [man-portable air defense system] to the circumstances of the Su-25 downing," Frants Klintsevich, First Deputy chair of Russia's Federal Council Defense Committee, told Interfax.

He hopes that evidence will be available due to the "abundance of UAVs and space surveillance in the area."

Comment: The US military has said no anti-aircraft weapons have been shipped to the militias it backs in Syria amid speculation the Russian Su-25 jet downed in Idlib, north-west Syria may have been shot down by a US-made missile.
"The United States have not provided any of its allied forces in Syria with anti-aircraft weapons," Pentagon spokesman Maj. Adrian J.T. Rankine-Galloway told TASS. He said the US-led coalition is currently not engaged in any operations in the area where the jet was downed Saturday. He added that the coalition's combat efforts are "geographically orientated on the current fight with Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS, ISIL) in eastern Syria."
A Syrian special forces operation is reportedly underway in the area where a Russian Su-25 jet was downed by a MANPAD rocket on Saturday. The goal is to find evidence allowing the weapon to be traced to its origin.
The Russian warplane was downed by a shoulder-fired anti-aircraft rocket, according to the Russian defense ministry. Moscow is very interested in establishing how exactly the weapon system got into the hands of the militant group responsible for attack, Russian MP Vikotor Volodarsky told RIA Novosti.

"The group that had the MANPAD has been destroyed by the Russian Air Force. Now the Syrian commandos are working on the ground. If they find elements of that launcher, we could trace its serial number and establish its origin to the factory in a few days, find out how it got there," the Russian MP said. He added Russian planes are providing air support to the Syrian troops.

5 things the FBI never told the FISA court about the Trump dossier

Crazy Liar Hillary Clinton

The memo asserts the FBI and DOJ scrubbed the Steele dossier of relevant political context when presenting it to the FISA court as a basis for a surveillance warrant.

The memo from House Intelligence Committee Republicans outlining how the FBI and Department of Justice secured a warrant to spy on a Trump campaign official alleges the agencies scrubbed highly relevant political context when presenting it to the secret court as a basis for the warrant.

Anonymous sources previously claimed the agencies used the unverified dossier produced by Christopher Steele on behalf of Hillary Clinton as a basis for the warrant, and confirmation of that is deeply troubling. But the revelation that the FBI and DOJ deliberately withheld information about the dossier that would have undermined their case before the court - that it was opposition research paid for by the target's rival campaign - is stunning.

Here are five things the FBI and DOJ never told the court when asking for multiple warrants, according to the memo.

The corruption continues: New pick for FBI General Counsel signed tainted FISA warrant application

Dana Boente
2017 acting Attorney General Dana Boente
FBI Director Christopher Wray replaced embattled FBI top lawyer James Baker with Dana Boente to take over as general counsel just days ago.

But that was before Boente's name was divulged publicly by the House Intel FISA memo showing Boente signed one of the FISA applications that has since been proven problematic and chock full of phony information posing as intelligence to seemingly trick approval from the FISA court to surveil Donald Trump and his team members.

Boente may have to step down form his new FBI post. But Wray would have known this before hiring Boente, so why did he hire him? Perhaps Boente's name was one of the names Wray was lobbying the White House to redact.

Comment: So Wray knew, but hired him anyway. That choice would appear to show where his allegiances lie.

16 bombshells in the memo the media don't want you to know about

Hoover grave
In its partisan zeal to protect the ongoing witch hunt against President Trump, our Nixonian media went into hyper-drive last week to ensure that the unethical and un-American behavior of President Obama's FBI and Justice Department remained covered up from the public.

After this cynical effort failed with the release of the Nunes memo Friday, the media quickly switched tactics and is now working feverishly to muddy the waters about the horror show revealed in the memo.

To begin with, it is obvious that a hysterical talking point about declaring the release of the memo a "Constitutional Crisis" has been spread far and wide... Naturally, the "constitutional crisis" in question is not the wrongdoing committed by federal law enforcement. Instead, because we are now deep within the head of the media's fabricated reality where wrong is right and up is down, the "constitutional crisis" is that government wrongdoing was uncovered.

Comment: OK, so the Russians are still evil, they still were working to rig the election, they were just helping the other team. You disappoint us memo. You disappoint us.

The United States' new nuclear policy brings humanity "closer to annihilation", Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said.

His comments late Saturday came a day after the Pentagon revealed plans to revamp its nuclear arsenal, largely in response to a perceived renewed threat from Russia.

Zarif said the new policy was "in violation" of the international Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Comment: The US government continues to be the biggest threat to the planet.

Obama admin's first request to spy on Trump campaign was rejected by FISA court โ€” Added fake dossier

Trump and Obama
On March 7th, 2017 The Gateway Pundit reported - Only 1 in 10,000 FISA Requests Was Denied in 6 Years - Obama's First Request to Wiretap Trump Denied in 2016.

We now know that the FISA requests to spy on Carter Page were based on the discredited and bogus fake Trump dossier created by Fusion GPS and that the dossier's origin was not reported to the court.

We also know that all of these requests were signed off on by the Obama Administration's Attorney General Loretta Lynch and that the first request to spy on Trump was denied by the FISA Court.

Comment: Indeed, despite pulling all the stops to prevent a Trump win, he still won! What does that tell you about the will of the American people?

Nunes: FISA memo just 'phase one', targeting State Department in 'phase two'

FISA abuse folder
Devin Nunes (R-CA) said that the investigation leading up to the four-page FISA memo released on Friday was only "phase one," and that the House Intelligence Committee is currently in the middle of investigating the State Department over their involvement in surveillance abuses.

"We are in the middle of what I call phase two of our investigation, which involves other departments, specifically the State Department and some of the involvement that they had in this," said Nunes.

"That investigation is ongoing and we continue work towards finding answers and asking the right questions to try to get to the bottom of what exactly the State Department was up to in terms of this Russia investigation."

Comment: With all this information coming to light about the level of corruption in the top levels of the American government, will Americans wake up to the reality of the deep state and finally see just how far the swamp goes? See more:

US Nuclear Posture Review: World will not survive American neoconservatives' doctrine of hegemony

Nuclear Posture Review
© WikipediaAmerica's contribution to mankind
The government of the United States is clearly in demonic hands. We are overflowing with proof. Take today (2-2-18) for example. A report from the House Intelligence Committee was released that is proof that the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Justice (sic), and the Democratic National Committee are engaged in a conspiracy against American democracy and the President of the United States with the full support of the presstitute media.

As if that is not enough, also released today is the Pentagon's new Nuclear Posture Review. A nuclear posture review specifies a country's attitude toward nuclear weapons and their use. In past posture reviews, nuclear weapons were regarded as unusable except in retaliation for a nuclear attack. The assumption was that no one would use them. There was always the possibility that false warnings of incoming ICBMs would result in the nuclear button being pushed, thus setting off Armageddon. There were many false warnings during the Cold War. President Ronald Reagan was very concerned about a false warning resulting in mass death and destruction. This is why his principal goal was to end the Cold War, which he succeeded in doing. It did not take successor governments long to resurrect the Cold War.

Ex-CIA director Panetta on memo release: 'I have never in my lifetime seen anything like this happen'

Leon Panetta CIA
Former CIA Director Leon Panetta
Former CIA Director Leon Panetta fears that the release of a controversial memo alleging government surveillance abuses by the Justice Department will cause "some very serious damage."

Speaking with CBS News's Jeff Pegues, Panetta said he had a lot of concerns with the decision by President Trump and House Intelligence Committee Republicans to publish a confidential memo that alleges federal law enforcement officials relied heavily on an opposition research dossier in their application for a warrant to surveil former Trump adviser Carter Page.

"I think the release of this memo is going to do some very serious damage, damage to the Intelligence Committee and the bipartisanship that is necessary in order to do oversight of classified information - damage because the president and the Congress now have a position of distrust with the Justice Department and the FBI - damage to the [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] process which has been important to our national security, and all of this sends a terrible message to our allies who are going to worry about sharing classified information that is so easily released as part of this political effort, and it's also frankly going to encourage our enemies who will see this as a breakdown in our national security process," Panetta said.

He also doubled down on his past comments that it "creates a constitutional crisis."

Comment: As a Secretary of Defense and a CIA Directory Panetta resided at the heart of the connections exposed by the memo and wielded its power. Of course he would be wringing his hands over the 'damage' it has possibly inflicted.
