The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have attacked an outpost of the Syrian Army near the occupied Golan Heights after shells flew across the border.

The Israeli military "attacked a Syrian outpost" after mortar shells were fired from that area towards the occupied Golan Heights, the IDF said in a statement on Friday. The shells fell in the buffer zone without reaching Israeli-held territory or causing any damage, the statement said.

It also noted that the shelling was apparently part of the fighting between the Syrian government forces and the militants entrenched in the area. Still, the IDF decided to retaliate. The Israeli forces are not involved in the internal conflict in Syria, the statement said, adding that Tel Aviv would still insist on "compliance with the 1974 disengagement agreement," which includes maintaining a buffer zone in the Golan Heights.

No one was injured in the Israeli strike, Reuters reports, citing sources within the pro-government forces.

N. Korea regrets US attitude and unilateral denuclearization demands during Pompeo talks

Pyongyang has voiced its regret over America's attitude during high-level talks with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and accused Washington of seeking unilateral and forced denuclearization from North Korea.

"We were expecting the US... to come up with constructive measures to help build confidence in the spirit of reunion and talks. However, the attitude of the US was indeed regrettable," said a statement released by the Korean Central News Agency, citing an unnamed North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman.

The US betrayed the spirit of last month's summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un by making unilateral demands on the complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization (CVID) of North Korea, the statement said.

Comment: Someone is stirring up trouble for these talks.

New Jersey just signed its own death warrant

Taxes rising graphic
You would think New Jersey would have learned its lesson...

Two years ago, New Jersey's richest resident - hedge fund billionaire David Tepper - decided to move himself and his business to Miami Beach.

Tepper, who personally earned more than $6 billion from 2012-2015, was tired of paying New Jersey's top income-tax rate of 8.97% for the 20 years he lived there, in addition to the country's highest property taxes, the estate tax and inheritance tax.

By moving to Florida, a state with ZERO income tax, Tepper stood to save hundreds of millions of dollars each year. And, as an added bonus, he'd be living in the Sunshine State.

Anyone with some common sense would have at least acknowledged the possibility that a guy like Tepper would consider moving to save a few hundred million bucks.

Senate Intelligence Committee prostitutes itself for Russiagate - And insults Trump supporters in the process

Mark Warne senate committee
© Getty"The Russian effort was extensive and sophisticated, and its goals were to undermine public faith in the democratic process, to hurt Secretary Clinton and to help Donald Trump," committee vice chairman Mark Warner (left center) said.
Are you stupid enough to believe that American voters elected Trump president because Vladimir Putin influenced them to vote for Russia's candidate? The US Senate Intelligence (sic) Committee is that stupid. This collection of nitwits actually produced a report that a few ads allegedly placed online on Putin's instructions, ads that did not cost one-hundredth of one percent of the huge sum spent by the candidates themselves, both national committees and everyone else, were decisive in influencing voters who never saw the ads in the first place or read or responded to tweets.

That a Senate Committee would expect anyone to believe such a far-fetched story shows that the Senate Intelligence (sic) Committee has no respect whatsoever for the people who elected President Trump, or, for that matter, for anyone else at home or abroad.

Comment: The US is rapidly losing any influence or respect (or what it had left) at home and around the world. And this farce is exemplary. But then the US isn't alone, the hysteria spread far and wide across the Western world and many in power still suffer the same delusions: Also check out SOTT radio's: Finally, here are The Duran's Alex Christoforou and Alexander Mercouris commenting on this issue:

Tariffs will 'kick off 50-year trade war' with China

container is transferred at a port in Qingdao
© AFPA container is transferred at a port in Qingdao in China's eastern Shandong province on July 6, the day US tariffs took effect on Chinese imports. This was the first shot in what Beijing called "the largest trade war in economic history" between the world's top two economies.
The tariff tussle that began today is linked to Beijing's ambitious 'Made in China 2025' and Belt and Road strategies, which will transform the global economic and geopolitical landscape; this rivalry could last for decades, some experts have said.

Way beyond the first midnight shot in what could possibly turn into a vicious trade war, the US-China tariff tussle must be seen in the context of the game-changing geopolitical and economic Big Picture.

The blame game, as well as all sorts of speculative scenarios on how the tariff tussle may evolve, are peripheral issues. The ultimate target of what started today is not allegedly dysfunctional "free trade"; the target is Made in China 2025, or China configured as a high-tech powerhouse on a par, or even surpassing, the US and the EU.

It's always crucial to stress that it was Germany that actually supplied the blueprint for Made in China 2025 via its Industry 4.0 strategy.

Deraa, Syria: 'Rebels played Russian roulette, and lost'

Syrian rebels
Middle East analysts are appropriately noting, "Rebels played Russian roulette, and lost" after Syrian Army ground forces accompanied by overwhelming Russian airstrikes in Syria's contested southwest region have collapsed anti-government lines with rapid speed.

Early Friday a major strategic victory was announced as government forces took the Nassib border crossing after recapturing a string of over 8 border outposts in Daraa province.

The Nassib crossing is among Syria's most important and busiest international border crossings, and sits along the Damascus-Amman international highway. Prior to the war it was a main artery for Syrian exports to GCC countries.

Opposition leaders have confirmed the crossing will now be controlled by Syrian government and Jordanian authorities for the first time after the FSA flag long flew over the outpost since anti-Assad militants captured it in 2015.

Russian air force launches massive attack on jihadists after Hmeymim attack - UPDATE: Russia's airbase comes under heavy attack again

Russian Air Force
The Russian Hmeymim Airbase has come under attack again after armed drones attempted to bomb several sites inside the military installation.

According to a military source in the nearby town of Jableh, the Russian military activated their air defense sirens after the armed drones entered vicinity of the Hmeymim Airbase tonight.

The source added that the Russian military was able to destroy the armed drones before they could hit any targets inside the Hmeymim Airbase.

Comment: The Russian Aerospace Forces launched a massive attack over the southwestern countryside of the Idlib Governorate tonight.
According to a military source in nearby Latakia, the Russian Aerospace Forces relentlessly bombarded the bases of Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) in the Jisr Al-Shughour District of Idlib.

These airstrikes, which are still ongoing, were conducted in retaliation for the latest armed drone attack on the Russian Hmeymim Airbase in southwest Latakia.
Update (Jul. 7): For the second straight night, Russia's Hmeymim Airport has come under attack by armed drones.
According to a local field source in the coastal city of Jableh, several armed drones targeted the Hmeymim Airbase's northeastern perimeter, prompting the Russian air defense to activate its warning sirens.

Once the sirens were activated, the Russian air defense reportedly intercepted the armed drones before they could hit any targets inside the Hmeymim Airbase or its vicinity.

Survival of the psychopaths - they are plotting to leave us behind

Last year, I got invited to a super-deluxe private resort to deliver a keynote speech to what I assumed would be a hundred or so investment bankers. It was by far the largest fee I had ever been offered for a talk - about half my annual professor's salary - all to deliver some insight on the subject of "the future of technology."

I've never liked talking about the future. The Q&A sessions always end up more like parlor games, where I'm asked to opine on the latest technology buzzwords as if they were ticker symbols for potential investments: blockchain, 3D printing, CRISPR. The audiences are rarely interested in learning about these technologies or their potential impacts beyond the binary choice of whether or not to invest in them. But money talks, so I took the gig.

After I arrived, I was ushered into what I thought was the green room. But instead of being wired with a microphone or taken to a stage, I just sat there at a plain round table as my audience was brought to me: five super-wealthy guys - yes, all men - from the upper echelon of the hedge fund world. After a bit of small talk, I realized they had no interest in the information I had prepared about the future of technology. They had come with questions of their own.

They started out innocuously enough. Ethereum or bitcoin? Is quantum computing a real thing? Slowly but surely, however, they edged into their real topics of concern.

Which region will be less impacted by the coming climate crisis: New Zealand or Alaska? Is Google really building Ray Kurzweil a home for his brain, and will his consciousness live through the transition, or will it die and be reborn as a whole new one? Finally, the CEO of a brokerage house explained that he had nearly completed building his own underground bunker system and asked, "How do I maintain authority over my security force after the event?"

The Event. That was their euphemism for the environmental collapse, social unrest, nuclear explosion, unstoppable virus, or Mr. Robot hack that takes everything down.

US delegation to Russia met with lies and scorn from Democrats

Reaction to GOP delegation split along party lines and Russophobes as GOP delegation's trip to Russia concludes

As reported on the Duran, an American Congressional delegation comprised of seven Republican US Senators and Congressmen traveled to Russia from June 30 to July 5th. During this time the delegation met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Sergey Kislyak.

The two sides expressed hope for a thawing of relations between the US and Russia, which have been in a very poor state since 2014.

As the delegation heads home, the Washington Post reported that their activity was met with derision by Democrat Party members and "Kremlin watchers", whose statements were anything but positive... and anything but true.

Murderous thug Saakashvili convicted of abuse of power, sentenced in absentia - Wanted in Georgia to serve 9 years in prison

A Georgian court has sentenced former President
Mikheil Saakashvili
Psycho-killer, qu'est-ce c'est?
Mikheil Saakashvili in absentia to six years in prison after convicting him of abuse of power.

In a June 28 verdict, the Tbilisi City Court found Saakashvili guilty of abusing his authority as president by trying to cover up evidence related to the 2005 beating of opposition lawmaker Valery Gelashvili.

Saakashvili, who currently lives in the Netherlands, condemned the ruling and charged that it was politically motivated.

"I am as guilty of beating up Valery Gelashvili as of murdering Kennedy and Trotsky," Saakashvili told Rustavi 2 TV, calling his in-absentia trial "a clown show that has nothing to do with the law."

Comment: They'll never extradite him. This thug is protected from on-high. And thus the west will prove that it is in fact it, and not Russia, which is the barbaric regime run by thugs. All those high-falutin' words about Georgia's 'liberal democratic revolution' and 'human rights' and 'escaping Russian imperialism' have, in the end, been exposed for what they are: an ocean of verbal diarrhea.
