Drain that swamp! Trump campaign ad hoists Bidens and Democrats high on their own petard

While I realize a a minority of hardcore Hillarybots will accuse me of endorsing Trump, most will realize that one can recognize the high quality of a political message without necessarily endorsing anybody.

In this case, I just saw this ad and, wow, in just 30 seconds it says it all. And, sorry Dems, it is 100% factually correct.

Which makes me notice something else: the Dems center all their political efforts on lies, lies and more lies. Frankly, this time around, the Trump campaign uses a very powerful weapon: the truth!

I was awed when the Dems nominated Hillary. Awed by the utter stupidity of this action as Hillary was probably the only Dem candidate which could actually lose to Trump.

This time around, they pushed Biden. Amazing.... Although knowing how corrupt and cynical the Neocons are, they will now probably eventually ditch Biden too. Either that, or they will try to start a full-scale color revolution (again). After all, to the Neocons, any democratic election deserves to be "corrected" via a color revolution. You think I am exaggerating? Maybe I am, but when I think of the very real possibility Biden might go to jail, possibly with Schiff and a host of other deep-staters, I don't think I would put anything past the Neocons and the DNC.

Anyway, I leave you with this ad which, might be the best I have ever seen.

Intel Community (sic) fiddled whistleblower requirements to get fake intel on Trump-Ukraine nothing-burger

US President Donald Trump has cried foul after reports suggested a whistleblower complaint form, which allows second-hand information to be submitted, is the result of a recent revision of intelligence community guidelines.

"WOW, they got caught. End the Witch Hunt now!" the US President wrote on Saturday evening, tweeting a link to the Federalist report.

The Friday bombshell alleges that the intelligence community "secretly gutted" the requirement for whistleblowers to be in possession of firsthand knowledge of whatever they want to report.

The so-called basic backstop plan entails keeping the entire United Kingdom in the EU Customs Union, with Northern Ireland complying with some EU Single Market rules, in the case of a no-deal scenario.

UK Brexit secretary Steve Barclay said that Brussels is facing a "moment of truth" over whether it wants a compromise, adding that he would unveil his new plan for the Irish border once the Conservative Party conference has concluded, The Daily Mail reported.

According to the UK-based media report, the conference is slated for next Wednesday.

Barclay suggested earlier, cited by The Daily Mail, that a Brexit deal can be done.

Best of the Web: The dirt Trump wants on the Bidens, and why Zelensky doesn't want him to have it

Trump Biden
© CNN.com/UnknownUS President Donald Trump โ€ข Candidate Former VP Joe Biden
In order to understand why Ukraine's President Voldomyr Zelensky doesn't want the dirt about Joe Biden to become public, one needs to know that Hunter Biden's boss and benefactor at Burisma Holdings was, at least partly, Zelensky's boss and benefactor until Zelensky became Ukraine's President, and that revealing this would open up a can of worms which could place that former boss and benefactor of both men into prison at lots of places.

First, the falsehoods in the press have to be documented here, since this article will go up against virtually all U.S.-and-allied reporting on these events. And, in order to do such a thing, the bona fides of my main sources need to be presented:

Naked Capitalism is, as the article about it at Wikipedia, says, the blog of Susan Webber, pen-named "Yves Smith," who "graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Business School. She had 20 years of experience in the financial services industry with Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Co., and Sumitomo Bank.[3] She has written articles for the New York Times, Bloomberg, and the Roosevelt Institute.[4][5]" "The site has had over 60 million visitors since 2007, and was cited as among CNBC's 2012 top 25 'Best Alternative Financial Blogs', calling Smith 'a harsh critic of Wall Street who believes that fraud was at the center of the financial crisis'.[2]" "The New York Times financial reporter Gretchen Morgenson cited Naked Capitalism as one of the 'must-read financial blogs' she reads regularly.[9]"

DC court rules in favor of 'state secret privileges' in case brought by 'journalist' who believes US military has him on a 'kill list'

Bilal Abdul Kareem
Bilal Abdul Kareem
The government can try to kill you without due process as long as it can successfully invoke state secret privileges. That's the just of the decision just released by Judge Rosemary M. Collyer of the DC District Court.

Journalist Bilal Abdul Kareem believes he has been placed on the US government's "kill list." Kareem, due to the nature of his reporting, spends a fair amount of time talking to militants involved with terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda. After a series of Syrian airstrikes that narrowly missed him, Kareem concluded the government must have decided he was a terrorist worth killing, even though he was only reporting on terrorist activity in Syria.

His case was allowed to proceed in 2018 by Judge Collyer (a former FISA judge), but now she is ending it. The state secret privilege invoked by the government is just too high to surmount, even for an American journalist who has expressed legitimate concern his own government is trying to kill him. At least Collyer has the honesty to deliver the crushing blow right up front.
What constitutional right is more essential than the right to due process before the government may take a life? While the answer may be none, federal courts possess limited authority to resolve questions presented in a lawsuit, even when they are alleged to involve constitutional rights. This is such a case. Despite the serious nature of Plaintiff's allegations, this Court must dismiss the action pursuant to the government's invocation of the state secrets privilege.
At least this part is blunt, concise, and mostly coherent. Going into greater detail (as Collyer's decision does) just puts the blinding glory of the government's Heller-esque powers on full display.
There is still a question as to whether the unavailability of the requested information is fatal to Mr. Kareem's complaint. A court must dismiss a case in which a privilege of state secrets is sustained when: (1) disclosure is necessary for the plaintiff to make its prima facie case; (2) disclosure is necessary for the defendant to defend itself; or (3) further litigation would present an unjustifiable risk of disclosure. See Mohamed, 614 F.3d at 1087. The United States focuses on Mr. Kareem's prima facie case, arguing that Mr. Kareem cannot establish his standing to sue without the information. The Court agrees and notes that all three reasons justify dismissal.

Comment: Ok, sounds bad on paper, but let's take a closer look at this 'journalist'...
Media darling 'Aleppo survivor' praises jihadi mercenaries training anti-Assad rebels

RT, 7 Aug 2018

Bilal Abdul Kareem, a self-identified journalist who found his fame with dramatic "under-fire" reports from Aleppo, Syria, is doing what he does best - mingling with militants and jihadist mercenaries.

In a report for 'On the Ground News,' which claims to bring "accurate, confirmed & up to date news" (as well as "document Assad/Putin war crimes"), Kareem is seen in a training camp with militants training to repel Syrian government forces in Idlib. Determined to "make sure that what happened [in Aleppo] isn't going to happen in Idlib," the fighters are training with machine guns under the guidance of a mercenary group. [...]

Using terms such as "automatic machine gun," Kareem extolls its virtues and the progress the militants are making in training to use it. He also laments how, despite the seven-year long war, the expertise is something the fighters are still lacking in. He then identifies the trainers: Malhama Tactical. [...]

A 10-member group of Uzbek militants, Malhama Tactical is the first ever private jihadist contractor. It has seen fighting and training alongside members of various groups in Syria, including internationally-recognized terrorists from Al-Nusra and Tahrir al-Sham, among others. [...]

Bilal Abdul Kareem, a New York-born former comedian turned anti-Assad journalist, is no stranger to controversy like this. In late 2016 he served as a useful tool for Western media condemnation of the Syrian and Russian operation to liberate Aleppo, posting goodbye messages together with other "civilian activists" as government forces were advancing. He was later seen alive and well, posing together with a suicide-belt-equipped militant.
No wonder he's a wanted man: he's spreading terrorist propaganda. For all we know, he moonlights as one. While his journalist colleagues were getting killed by terrorists for reporting from Syria, this guy got a free pass.

US demands release of prisoner before Iranian FM can visit cancer-stricken ambassador

Washington won't allow the Iranian foreign minister to visit his country's envoy to the UN at a US hospital unless one of the American citizens detained by Iran is released first.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is currently in New York for the UN General Assembly. He was denied permission to visit Iran's representative to the United Nations, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment at a Manhattan hospital.

The medical facility is located just outside a small zone in which Zarif and other members of the Iranian delegation are permitted to travel. If an Iranian delegate wishes to venture outside the zone, they must notify the US State Department and seek permission, which was not granted in this case.

Skulduggery? Former NSA staff chief suggests 'whistleblower' may have had Congress members' help drafting complaint

trump whitleblower memo
© NY Post Photo Composite
A former National Security Agency chief of staff has suggested that that the whistleblower who accused President Donald Trump of improper conduct over a phone call with the Ukrainian president possibly had help from "congressional members or staff" in drafting the complaint.

Fred Fleitz, who is currently the President and CEO of the Center for Security Policy, said in an op-ed published in the New York Post on Thursday, Sept. 26 that he is "troubled" by the complaint and questioned how an intelligence officer could make such a complaint based on a conversation between the president and a foreign leader.

Fleitz said that based on his experience he felt that the document was "extremely polished" and "appears to be written by a law professor" due to its use of legal references and detailed footnotes. He also compared the complaint to a Twitter post written by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) on Aug. 28, saying that there were similarities.

Comment: The Democrats just can't help escalating the crazy, if they think it will help them take down Trump. This latest folly, as it turned out to involve a Democratic presidential front-runner (for the moment), will likely bite them in the end, in every sense of the phrase.

Kurt Volker included in whistleblower complaint - resigns as Ukraine envoy

volker poroshenko

Kurt Volker, the U.S. envoy for Ukraine, resigned Friday after his name was mentioned in the intelligence community whistleblower's complaint regarding President Trump's July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that included discussion about investigating the Biden family, a source with knowledge of the matter told Fox News.

Volker's resignation was first reported by The State Press, the student newspaper of Arizona State University, where Volker serves as executive director of the school's McCain Institute.

According to the complaint, Volker sought to "contain the damage" from Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani's outreach to Ukraine's government about the Biden family.

Comment: What sort of game is Volker playing at, encouraging a move that would undercut the Democrats? He has always been perceived as a Deep Stater. Perhaps he thought Giuliani really was going to try to get dirt on Hunter? But apparently he went at Ukraine's request to provide assistance to the Ukrainian AG in prosecuting internal corruption. Biden was pretty clearly taking advantage of it.

What did the press get wrong about the Ukraine call? Everything!

Trump Biden
© CNN.com/UnknownUS President Donald Trump โ€ข Candidate Former VP Joe Biden
Here's a question you haven't heard anyone ask about the Ukraine phone call story: If the Biden family never existed, would it have still been a good idea for President Trump to put a hold on funds already approved by Congress for Ukraine until the leaders spoke?

Answer: Yes.

The citizens who voted for Trump knew what they were getting. He promised to be a tough negotiator with our allies and adversaries alike. So what would a competent negotiator do when dealing with a new leader โ€” of any country โ€” before their first conversation? If he's smart, he would "set the table" as Trump sometimes says about negotiating. In other words, you don't start the conversation with someone important until you have arranged as many variables as you can in your favor. In the Ukraine phone call situation, President Trump effectively transferred power from Congress to himself in terms of "approving" Ukraine's funds. Then he took a phone call with the new President of Ukraine.

That was perfect negotiating form.

We give our presidents a lot of flexibility in dealing with foreign affairs because it works better to have one "boss" in these situations. Had Trump permanently withheld funds approved by Congress, that would be a system problem on our end. But temporarily putting a hold on those funds before speaking leader-to-leader is just smart presidenting. It creates the impression that the president is the only American the foreign leader needs to deal with. That's "setting the table."

Does it matter exactly what Trump was going to discuss, negotiate, or request?

Answer: Nope.

Lavrov at UNGA: Western dominance is waning, liberal interpretation no longer works

LavrovUN
© REUTERS/Brendan McDermidRussian FM Sergey Lavrov at the United Nations
The West ignores reality by trying to prevent the formation of a multi-polar world by imposing its narrow "liberal" rules on others, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has told the UN General Assembly.

Lavrov's speech on Friday at the UN headquarters in New York focused on global challenges but, unlike some of the speakers, he didn't mince words, proceeding into a full-on rebuke of the Western ideal of world order. "It's hard for the West to accept that its centuries-long domination is diminishing." New centers of economic growth and political influence are emerging internationally, he said, but the US and its allies are trying to impede the rise of the multi-polar world.

In order to achieve this, they "impose the standards of conduct based on narrow Western interpretation of liberalism on others. In short, 'We're liberals hence anything is permitted to us'" was how he characterized this attitude. "The West has been increasingly forgetting about international law and more often dwell on rules-based order."

As opposed to this counterproductive approach, lasting solutions to global challenges should be founded "on the basis of the UN Charter, through the balance of interests of all states," the Russian FM recommended.

Comment: From Sputnik, 27/9/2019: Moscow urges dialog for resolution of 'artificially fueled' tensions in Persian Gulf
Russian FM Sergey Lavrov:

Solution to tensions in the Persian Gulf

"Tensions in the Persian Gulf are fueled artificially. We call for overcoming existing differences through dialogue, without unfounded accusations. Our contribution is the revised Russian concept of collective security in the region presented this summer."

Collective Security Concept for the Persian Gulf Region

"We feel an interest in our initiative but not yet from all the players involved. I hope that this sad episode will encourage our colleagues to be more attentive to the Russian initiative. We must act systematically and create a comprehensive framework in which it will be easier to negotiate."

"It consists of fairly simple things. All Gulf countries and their partners in the region and beyond should sit down at the negotiating table and start relieving tension through very simple steps โ€” peace and confidence, transparency, inviting each other's armed forces to various events and developing other steps that will help strengthen understanding of what needs to be talked about."

Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty

"President Putin announced a decision not to deploy medium- and shorter-range ground-based missiles in Europe or other regions, if and while the Americans refrain from doing this. We urged the United States and NATO to join such a moratorium. We have also repeatedly proposed to Washington to begin negotiations on extending the START treaty. Russia and China are in favor of agreeing a legally binding document on the prevention of an arms race in outer space. But the reaction of the United States and its allies has not been encouraging so far."

Arms Control System

"I would like to announce today that at the current session of the General Assembly we are submitting a draft resolution on strengthening and developing the system of agreements on arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation. I invite everyone to join constructive talks. The approval of the resolution would be an important contribution to creating conditions for successful holding of a fresh review conference on the implementation of the NPT next year".

Russian Defence Capability

"Russia will continue to work persistently in order to strengthen universal security. In this area, we are acting with utmost responsibility, exercising restraint in enhancing our defence capability, obviously not at the expense of effectively ensuring our national security and with full compliance with international law."
