Fed prosecutors make first move to break up California Antifa cell: 11 activists charged with violence

For the first time in the U.S., prosecutors are attempting to break up a network of alleged violent antifa cells.

This week, the San Diego County District Attorney's office charged 11 alleged antifa members with felony conspiracy and felony assault charges, among other crimes, in a riot case where supporters of former President Donald Trump and random bystanders were beaten in Pacific Beach, California in January. Eight suspects were arraigned this week; they have all pleaded not guilty.

Eight suspects were issued search and arrest warrants last week in San Diego County and Los Angeles County. Police recovered three guns, ammunition, body armor and drugs. The large operation to arrest the suspects involved mutual support from multiple law enforcement agencies in Los Angeles, Long Beach and Escondido. The case is sending shockwaves through far-left networks in Southern California, who have been raising funds for their comrades.

'Haaretz' publisher says Israel is 'an apartheid state' - as his paper continues to warn against Israel-Iran war

Amos Schocken is Israel's equivalent of the latest Sulzberger to inherit control of the New York Times. Schocken, in his mid-70s, is the third generation of his family to run Haaretz, the most respected newspaper in Israel, and he speaks out regularly in columns and on social media.

Just the other day, Schocken called Israel "an apartheid state." He was indignantly responding to a right-wing member of the Knesset, Israel's Parliament. Here's the full quotation:
"The product of Zionism, the State of Israel, is not a Jewish and democratic state, but has instead become an apartheid state, plain and simple."
Haaretz continues to be indispensable to understanding the vital truths about Israel/Palestine, truths the New York Times ignores and covers up. The latest example: yesterday's Times has an analysis of the differences between the U.S. and Israel over the re-negotiations of the Iran nuclear deal. The article could have been ghost-written by hawks in the Israeli government. Its overall tone is sympathy with Israel, and a sense that American policymakers are naive. The report euphemistically mentions Israeli "covert strikes" and "sabotage operations" against Iran, but doesn't give more details. Only in the final paragraph (the 23rd), does the Times acknowledge that the American CIA director, William Burns, says the U.S. "continues to believe that Iran has not made a decision to weaponize its nuclear program."

Comment: Be it NYC or Tel Aviv, editorial slants customize issues to the pulse and receptivity of the readership and, in return, create brand loyalty.

For whatever reason, some mistakenly perceive the Israeli newspaper, Haaretz, as liberal, progressive and even 'pro-Palestinian'. Of course, none of this is true. This misconstrued depiction of an essentially Zionist and anti-Palestinian newspaper tells of a much bigger story of how confusing Israeli politics is, and how equally confused many of us are in understanding the Israeli political discourse.

On November 28, newly-elected Israeli President, Isaac Herzog, stormed the Ibrahimi Mosque in the Palestinian city of Al-Khalil (Hebron) with hundreds of soldiers and many illegal Jewish settlers, including the who's who of Israel's extremists.

The scene was reminiscent of a similar occurrence where late Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, had stormed, along with thousands of soldiers and police officers, the Haram Sharif Compound in occupied East Jerusalem in September 2000. It was this particular event that unleashed the second Palestinian uprising, Intifada (2000-05), which led to the killing of thousands.

Herzog's gesture of solidarity with the Kiryat Arba settlers was identical to Sharon's earlier gesture, also made to win the approval of Israel's burgeoning and influential right-wing extremists.

Only a few months ago, Haaretz had described Herzog as a "centrist, soft-spoken, 'no drama'" person who had, at times, "felt out of place on Israel's stormy and fractured political battlefield". According to Haaretz, Herzog "may be exactly what Israel needs." But is this really the case?

Comment: Israel is a highly successful pathocracy providing an energetic dynamic in which extremists and sadists irrepressibly flourish without conscience or accountability. Is Israel a sick society? By normal standards it is. By theirs, it is a whopping success.

If Julian Assange were a Chinese journalist and publisher, he'd have the Nobel Prize, be the centerpiece of Human Rights Day, and this week his portrait would've been planted atop President Joe Biden's Democracy Summit.

Assange's name would've been the first on US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's list of 350 journalists under threat, published, without irony, on the day his administration sought to extradite Assange to face 175 years in a supermax prison.

If Chinese crimes rather than American crimes had been revealed by Assange, he would now be the poster boy for the Winter Olympics' boycott campaign.

Every news bulletin today would've led with his fate, every press still turning would be rolling out the outrage at the crushing of this butterfly on the wheel.

Poor Julian, if only he had been born a Chinaman.

His "crime", though, is that he exposed, inter alia, US war crimes in Iraq, including assassinations and more than 15,000 unreported deaths of civilians; the torture of men and boys aged between 14 and 89, at Guantanamo; the US illegally spying on UN secretary generals and other diplomats; the CIA-insitigated military coup in Honduras in 2009; and the US' secret war on Yemen in which thousands have been killed.

Chief Justice Roberts rejects bid to block mask mandate on airplanes

Chief Justice John Roberts is uninterested in hearing arguments against the mask mandate currently enforced on passengers who patronize U.S. airports and domestic airlines.

Michael Seklecki, the father of a 4-year-old autistic boy who is referred to in legal briefings as M.S., filed an emergency application for review of the mandate with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit in on Nov. 9. The lawsuit asked for a stay of the mandate and a preliminary injunction. The requests were denied by the appellate court in a per curiam [without author] order - without comment - the very next day.

Last Friday, the the boy and his father filed their request with the Supreme Court.

On Thursday, Roberts dismissed the request for emergency action from the nation's high court - also without comment.

Somewhat confusingly, the Seklecki family members are not the lead plaintiffs in the lawsuit, stylized as Lucas Wall v. Transportation Security Administration. The filing docketed last week does, however, focus on their claimed plight of being unable to board an airplane flight booked for Dec. 9 due to the TSA's mask mandate.

Comment: If it were Justice Roberts' grandson...what would he rule?

Roberts, who handles emergency requests from Washington, D.C., where the case arose, denied the request without comment — and without referring the matter to the other justices, a sign that he thought the claim lacked legal merit.

The fourth and final accuser in Ghislaine Maxwell's sex-abuse trial took the stand Friday, telling jurors how the alleged madam gave her a nude massage and groped her as a teen at Jeffrey Epstein's New Mexico ranch.

Annie Farmer — the only accuser to testify using her full name — said she was lured to the ranch after meeting Epstein through her sister months earlier because she thought the duo viewed her as a "student they may want to help."

Farmer said she was comfortable going to the ranch in part because Maxwell was there and she understood her to be Epstein's girlfriend.

Comment: Annie's elder sister Maria has been more outspoken about her experience with Epstein and Maxwell.

Former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows turned over to the House select committee investigating the 6 January Capitol attack a PowerPoint recommending Donald Trump to declare a national security emergency in order to return himself to the presidency.

The fact that Meadows was in possession of a PowerPoint the day before the Capitol attack that detailed ways to stage a coup suggests he was at least aware of efforts by Trump and his allies to stop Joe Biden's certification from taking place on 6 January.

The PowerPoint, titled "Election Fraud, Foreign Interference & Options for 6 Jan", made several recommendations for Trump to pursue in order to retain the presidency for a second term on the basis of lies and debunked conspiracies about widespread election fraud.

Meadows turned over a version of the PowerPoint presentation that he received in an email and spanned 38 pages, according to a source familiar with the matter.

A retired Army colonel who contributed to and helped circulate a PowerPoint with a plan to overthrow the democratic election of Joe Biden told The Washington Post that he discussed the vote as many as 10 times with former chief of staff Mark Meadows.

He also said he briefed several members of Congress on the PowerPoint of "options" with a team the night before the Jan. 6 insurrection — and attended a meeting with then-President Donald Trump and Pennsylvania lawmakers in the Oval Office weeks after the election, the Post reported.

The PowerPoint plan involved Trump declaring a national security emergency to delay the certification of the 2020 election results, then manhandling the vote to keep Trump in the White House.

The retired colonel, Phil Waldron, is a cybersecurity expert who specialized in psychological operations in the military. He was working with Trump's outside lawyers and others to devise schemes to upend the vote as part of a "command center" of Trump allies holed up in the Willard Hotel ahead of the Jan. 6 riot.

Some challenges to electoral votes pressed by notorious "coup memo" attorney John Eastman — who was also part of the "command center" to stop the election — appear to echo strategies in the PowerPoint plan.

Meadows' lawyer said the former chief of staff did not act on the plan or otherwise do anything about the email, according to The New York Times.
In a sane world, "upending" a fraudulent election would be the responsible, patriotic thing to do. Unfortunately, we live in clown world.

Americans hammer Biden over inflation and sinking economy in new poll

A majority of Americans disapprove of how President Biden is handling the economic recovery, inflation, immigration and crime — with his only positive numbers coming from his response to the coronavirus pandemic and his infrastructure plan, according to a poll released Sunday.​

Sixty-nine percent of Americans give Biden a thumbs down on his handling of inflation with only 28 percent approving, while ​57 percent disapprove of how he has guided the economic recovery, an ABC News/Ipsos poll shows.

Biden also gets poor marks for his handling of gun violence (66 percent disapprove, 32 percent approve), crime (61 percent disapprove, 36 percent approve), and immigration (63 percent disapprove, 34 percent approve).

Japan announces that public and private sectors can not discriminate against those who refuse the experimental mRNA gene therapy injections.

Japan is now labeling Covid "vaccines" to warn of dangerous and potentially deadly side effects such as myocarditis. In addition, the country is reaffirming its commitment to adverse event reporting requirements to ensure all possible side effects are documented.


Comment: SOTT logged some of these developments after it was reported by Japan's public broadcaster NHK on the 4th December. The following news report details some of the additional, and very notable, comments from it's Health Ministry, found further below, seemingly in defiance of the nefarious agenda being pushed by most governments in the West.


These efforts from Japan's health authority are in stark contrast to the deceptive measures taken by other countries to coerce citizens into taking the injection, downplaying side effects, and discouraging proper adverse event reporting.

Additionally, Japan is emphasizing informed consent and bodily autonomy. Until the coronavirus pandemic, the concept of "informed consent" was considered sacred to healthcare professionals in the West.

Comment: Back in August, Japan also temporarily suspended the use of certain batches of Moderna after it discovered contaminants that are believed to have caused the deaths of at least two young men: Japan suspects metallic contaminant in Moderna vaccines, issues recall of 1.6 MILLION doses
