Delusional Seattle councilwoman demands police permanently surrender East Precinct building to leftist rioters

Seattle Councilwoman Kshama Sawant on Thursday night demanded the Seattle Police Department surrender the East Precinct building to "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone" (CHAZ) protesters.

"Our movement needs to urgently ensure East Precinct is not handed back to police, but is turned over permanently into community control," Sawant wrote on Twitter.

Sawant said she would file legislation to convert the East Precinct into "a community center for restorative justice."

"The process for deciding East Precinct conversion must include those involved in CHAZ, black community organizations, restorative justice, faith, anti-racist, renter organizations, land trusts, groups, labor unions that have a proven record of fighting racism," she wrote.

Sawant is an elected City Council official and a self-described socialist.

On Tuesday night, she opened Seattle City Hall to protesters, where they swarmed in and demanded the resignation of Mayor Jenny Durkan.

On Monday, Sawant also introduced a bill to ban police from using tear gas and chokeholds.

What I can't understand is if there are residences there, there would almost certainly be widowed grandmas of guys like me who would go to help them, and any self-proclaimed 'warlord' (better: war lard ) would have been happy to have found his black ass on some other 'war front' that day, nigga!

Rowan Cocoan There aren’t any single family dwellings within that six block area if my memory serves me. Mostly bars, nightclubs, and recently built overpriced apartments for the tech/Amazon set with a handful of older apartments (overpriced as well). It is indeed thee epicenter of queer culture in the city.

A friend of mine is friends with the Latin fellow who recently shot a “protester” in self defense. These fools have no idea what a small minority they are. Granted there are some Antifa and redneck revolt people who are armed, though they are vastly outnumbered by armed non partisan and right wingers who’d love for them to try this autonomous crap anywhere outside the Seattle city limits.

In the Seattle area there are the radical leftists (small minority) and then a much larger amorphous blob of “liberals” of many stripes who’ve one thing in common: they’re all mortified of being seen as unsupportive of whatever the small minority is up to. Beyond that there is a mass of people who couldn’t give a shit what any of the lefties are up to as long as they’re left alone along with your stock traditional republicans (straight, Christian, gun owners).

It’s fascinating to see these faux revolutionaries in action. Their plans are predicated on supply chains and systems that once gone will leave them desperate and facing an ideological “enemy” (read: “right wingers”) who’ve got way more weapons, way more supplies, way more survival skills and wayyyy more balls to use said weapons liberally upon these “radicals” than they do against them.

I’m trying to comprehend the decision to remove police from the East precinct. The best theory I can gather is the mayor along with the city council feared the optics of the police actually doing their job in retaining the precinct and as a result could lose when up for re-election.

What have many, many people surrounding Seattle been doing since COVID locked us in our homes, took away our jobs and started sending monopoly money directly to our bank accounts? We’ve been buying guns. Lots of them. The snowflakes can have Seattle. God help them if they try their revolution anywhere else in the Puget sound area.
