Man killed while attempting to blow up ATM during Philadelphia protests

A man reportedly died in Philadelphia while attempting to blow up a sidewalk ATM during violent demonstrations Tuesday.

The 24-year-old, whose identity has not been made public, died of upper body trauma after the explosive detonated on the ATM outside of a sports bar around 6:15 a.m., NBC reported.

Police believe the incident occurred during an "organized" and "coordinated" effort targeting ATM machines during the civil unrest around the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

The death came on the fourth day of disruptive protests in Philadelphia as demonstrators take to the streets across American cities to fight police brutality.

Cops told NBC they responded to the scene to find the man as well live explosives and a destroyed ATM. The man was rushed to a hospital where he died, according to the outlet.

The ATM was one of at least 10 machines that were vandalized across the city, NBC reported. The machines were either stolen outright or looted after they were damaged with explosive devices.

No arrests have been made, according to NBC.

Of course it makes perfect sense. Some Minneapolis cops kill a man, so you go out and blow up an ATM in Philadelphia. Even a blind guy can see the validity of the protest. I mean Philadelphia ATMs must die because George Floyd. It's just so obvious.

But, that's coordination.

As to where explosives? There are lots of mining operations nearby. (My guess.)

Rowan Cocoan when i grew up, every farmer in the area had a case of dynamite dripping with nitroglyserine in their garage. it was originally used to bast trenches trough fields - to let out water. but, at the time when i grew up - it was going "out of fasion" to set of explosions around where people was living. which suited the local kids fine, since they thought it was fun to play with dynamite, and no-one seemed to miss the stuff when it was gone.

then there was also fun to play with salpeter/black powder, kmno3/4, weed-salt, ammoniumnitrate, etc, etc. not so effective, but on the other hand, it made the chemistry lessons at school more interesting. (hmm. probably got my first "A" in chemistry. teacher won the hearts of all the bad boys right from the beinning when he demonstrated what we should not do with metallic kalium and water):

In the early days of these demonstrations, at least half the faces were white, and there was no looting. Those people seemed to be really outraged by the murder of George Floyd, and the systemic and routine police brutality in America. Now, what I see is all-black mobs torching and looting stores.

How disgusting. Those black looters are not upset at the death of Floyd, they are not really upset at the poverty and black-on-black crime in the ghettos, they are criminal opportunists, who are desecrating the memory of Floyd, trivializing his murder, and dragging his name through the mud.

What they are doing is proving the racist white cops RIGHT. Blacks ARE prone to criminality, violence, and theft. Aren't they? They are proving for all the world to see that blacks ARE different from whites, and have brought unto themselves all the prejudice and discrimination directed against them for the past 160 years.

How unutterably tragic. How sad. With every store looted and trashed, the whites who sympathized with the oppression that the black community certainly faces, are losing more and more of that sympathy. Including me. If the mobs keep it up, soon there will occur a groundswell of opinion in favor of Derek Chauvin, and he will end up acquitted or given a light sentence. And the responsibility for that outrage will rest with the black mobs themselves.

And anyone in the black leadership who does not now open their goddamn mouths and condemn this desecration of the memory of George Floyd, will be just as guilty of perpetuating discrimination and racism against blacks, as any white supremacist from the Old South or the New Nazi Party.
