Society's Child
Liscia D. Willis, 49, allegedly murdered James Lee Dunlap — a retired Cincinnati cop — in the basement of his home in Forest Park and then started hauling her personal items into the 69-year-old man's home, according to court records cited by WXIX.
Willis had planned to take over the mortgage on Dunlap's residence. His body was found Friday, police said in an affidavit.
Willis, who has been charged with aggravated murder, was ordered held on $1 million bond during a court appearance early Monday, WXIX reported.
Dunlap, a US Army vet who joined the service during the Vietnam War, retired from the Cincinnati Police Department in 2002 after 29 years of service to "his country and community," according to his obituary.
Some officers who worked alongside Dunlap — who was affectionately known as "Skip" — said they were dumbfounded by his sudden death.
"Just a nice guy and that's so sad to hear about somebody that passed and passed in this way and passed at this time of the year," Cincinnati Fraternal Order of Police president Dan Hils told WXIX. "I was a young policeman. I just remember him as a friendly gentleman who treated even the young police officers with respect and was a kind and easy-going street policeman."
Hils also noted the "very sad set of circumstances" surrounding Dunlap's death.
"You worry most about Skip's family," Hils said.
A grand jury is expected to hear the case against Willis on Dec. 31, WKRC reported.

Just remember those who Live by the law Die by the law.
If there are never any extenuating circumstances than there is no excuse for your callousness.
What stood out was how they played up his civic honor about being a vet and a retired cop.
All I was trying to establish was, like my former brother-in-law there are vets and cops out there that are not what they seem to be.
But I can see you are caught up in the paradigm of never question the official narrative, strange that I run across you on SOTT.
I usually don't describe a person in one word but you are a MORON.
That brother-in-law (a retired cop) that I mentioned that another reader said wasn't irrelevant, played a roll in sending his son to prison because he set the example by beating his wife (my sister) in front of his son.
That is all I am trying to say period, I hope this brings this to a civil understanding between us.
As usual...the lawyers / judges, etc = 1
The rest of us = 0
And 'justice' (whatever that is) = 0
Murder is of course the extreme unless it's sanctioned by war and we support our vets mentality.
I am as guilty as the rest of you so maybe we should all shut up and hug a loved one today.
They; that is her and her father might meet again in hell someday but we righteous Americans have it all figured out now don't we.
I am afraid because of my disdain for the pious attitude of people like you I would have to hang this jury (if only because).
I know what I am dealing with here anyone that would take on the user name Beelzebub although butchered as it is; lacks any credibility with me.
Merry Christmas, asshole....
I've been wrong before like thinking it would be unlikely that I would run into people on SOTT that use witch avatars s expression points and usernames like Belez Bub, so we are more infested than I thought.
Thanks girls for the learning curve boost, your master will promote you all the way up to judgment day.
That is if I don't pray for you; whether you want me to or not.
As the lyrics go it's hard to be humble especially when blessed like I am by the Almighty to see what is going on, but I try.
So I don't pretend to be humble it would be too dangerous in such a lost and hostile world.
What we have to say is not nearly as important as what we do.
If everybody was opposed to war it would not stop the powers that be from getting us to fight over whether popcorn taste good with or without salt.
I guess it was Rodney King that ask (can't we all just get along) of course the answer in NO
but we should reserve our disagreements until we are ready to sacrifice something to prove our point.
If that were the case my guess would be we wouldn't argue nearly as much.
I realize as a society we are too far gone to reach many people and that might be the reason the wolves come calling and that I respond in kind.
Merry Christmas indeed tell that to the pagan Catholic Church that established this farst that you call Christmas.

Had he sexually abused her when she was young, was she diagnosed with a mental illness, did he defraud her of money, was he overly critical of her during her informative years, was he a strict disciplinarian, did he beat his wife in front of her excetera. i.e. was he putting on a great front and just a horrible father, I had a former now deceased brother-in-law that was a cop that fits the description to some degree that I laid out above.
I am not making excuses for murder but the worst of these or a combination of them could be extenuating circumstances; there just seems to be more to this story than we know about.
Sad though in any event.
