A mother of three from New Zealand claims she has faced death threats for sharing pictures of her hunting trips, which often show her carrying an animal's carcass following a hunt. However, the woman, 29, says she and her family eat the animals they hunt because they're opposed to eating meat from a factory farm.
Lucy Rose Jaine first started hunting when she met her partner, The Sun reports. Since then, she's fallen in love with the outdoors. She and her family go hunting about five to eight times per month.
They mainly hunt wild pigs, but they'll also hunt deer, goats, wallabies and other animals. She uses the animals that she kills to feed her family, explaining that she prefers not to rely on factory-farmed meat.
"I like that we can teach our children how to hunt their own food," she told The Sun.

She and her family mainly hunt pigs, which also helps local farmers deal with their pig problems, she claimed.
"It's free, it's fun and it helps the farmers," she said.
Jaine typically shares pictures of her hunting trips on Instagram, where she says she receives support from other outdoor enthusiasts. Unfortunately, that's not all she receives.
"I've had a few death threats from people who just don't have any experience with hunting," she said. "Or maybe they are against animal cruelty. But I don't take it to heart. I just tell myself, 'That person must be going through something in their own life and I can't judge what I don't understand.'

Critics also seem to take issue with the photographs Jaine posts, which often show her carrying her kills after a successful hunt.
"Imagine posing with the animals you've just slaughtered," one commenter wrote underneath a photo of Jaine carrying a wild pig. "Pls can someone do this to her children?"
"Nothing funny about posing with dead animals," said another. This is why you receive hate, the kill shots, there's just no need for them, and perhaps don't go running to the papers crying about it too!"
Jaine, meanwhile, said she simply tries to turn the other cheek.
"Some guy just said, 'I hope you die.' I obviously didn't respond. I hope he finds happiness. Be kind, everyone on this earth is especially doing their best."

The fact that she is trying to get likes from her posts is part of the virus plaguing humanity right now. I know of couples who break up over social media. Let's highlight the problem here. SOCIAL MEDIA. I see nothing else wrong with her behaviour.

No hunter would not instantly put out of its mistery a wounded animal. I've had two, unknown to me, run over cats die in my arms. In one of those cases, I seriously thought about passing the cat and returning the favor to the fleeing cat killer; but did not.
As we all know, there is a WORLD of difference between hunting and 'dragging around' dying critters. THAT WAS NOT HERE! YOU, SOTT, OWE US AN APOLOGY FOR MAKING THIS UP! IF YOU DIDN'T, YOU OWE SOME LINKS!

2) SOTT routinely rewrites headlines with errors included: most commonly, it is the accidental addition or omission of ‘not’; or similar. This headline is not that. (I don’t have instagram; never will, so I’ve not seen the video.)*
3) As I already noted above about 'kill shots', hunting involves killing, and killing involves dying, and, if YOU? (see final paragraphs) are talking about the necessary dying in some kill shot, that is playing editor with the headline and changing it into emotive fake news - the first I’ve ever seen here.
4) Of course I got the original headline that way. What other way would YOU do it?
5) At your profile, I see: So, “Editor” Meg, (here more like Misleading Headline Creator?) I gotta wonder - given your hyper-defensive response here - if you are perchance the writer of the addition of “dying” in the A) above fake news headline, B) repeated on the headline in this category and C) repeated in SOTT’s blue comment - and found nowhere in the original story? Your answer?

I’ve been SOTT reader for the better part of a decade, and have finally found a reason to post a comment. How can you make a comment degrading this women for posting pics of her showing her kills at the same time posting a story in the health and wellness section of vegans not giving a proper diet to their baby. That baby died because of that couple not understanding proper nutrition. Yet you want to call this women a sick human being for teaching her family about harvesting their own food. I find it disgusting and hypocritical of what I thought this site is about. Stay away from playing identity politics.
FYI. I am not a hunter but respect what they do. Hunting is conservation.
