Have you ever heard of this guy (or seen the documentary about him - or the Hollywood flick)
Dieter Dengler (May 22, 1938 – February 7, 2001) was a German-born United States Navy aviator during the Vietnam War and later a private aircraft test pilot and commercial airline pilot. He was one of two survivors, the other being Phisit Intharathat, out of seven prisoners of war (POWs) who escaped from a Pathet Lao prison camp in Laos. He was rescued after 23 days on the run[1] following six months of torture and imprisonment and was the first captured U.S. airman to escape enemy captivity during the Vietnam war.[2][3] [Link]
He was the only person ever to finish sere training having gained weight!
The film was fairly well done as I recall. I'd give it a 7/10.

So we have to come to some accomodation about that. I could make sandals from an old tire, plus my feet would toughen up with time, though it would take a long time to even get away from civilization. IF I had to, I can name the critical items I would carry - at least two of which would be firearms.

If the planet "loved you" in the full eco-all-heart-no-brain David Attenborough sense, it would sustain you without guns and trousers, no?
You know as well as I do, the criticality of simple 'common sense'. The idiots who get paid to tell us to eat bugs, well, they wouldn't last in tough times. (E.g., what your grandparents dealt with.) People, most people, simply give up too early, it seems, and once you give up the struggle to survive - you won't last long.

Highland Fleet Lute (E.g., what your grandparents dealt with.)Bacon and eggs. LOL.
His father split the family in 1940? Tough life? He dealt with it fine.
That kind of farm tough this world needs a lot more of.

He was 6'1" 190 lbs? By the time he got out below 120. When they'd get candy bars not stolen by the US Mail troops (mostly - NOT the Germans and Austrians, who were likewise starving) they would leave them out to get flies to land in them so that the maggots would convert the sugar & carbs into protein. Camp orders.
That is when I'll eat bugs.

If you want to find out how much "the planet" loves you, you could maybe try eschewing all attributes of civilisation and go and live out in the woods for a while.
Most likely, you'll be feeding earthworms, centipedes, and the planet itself before a fortnight's up.
