So the German Green Party wanted to gag Mr. Schroeder. Interesting how quickly free speech is considered inconvenient and wished done away with.
they were about to pass a law banning someone from speaking their mind. i don't know how much more hypocritical one can get. i can't believe this, what a joke.
important point. i checked the german outlets on it, and it says the reason why they wanted to muzzle schroeder on ukraine is because of his consulting job with the russian gazprom corporation. basically, if he speaks out as a politician on ukraine, it could be interpreted as a possible conflict of interest, since his views could be really interpreted as a lobbyist's for gazprom, yet he would be offering them under the guise of a "politician". the telegraph does mention gazprom, but misrepresents the european parlaments' justification for their notion to ban schroeder from speaking out.
