Fauci: Case count to decline after inauguration day

I asked my doctor when Coronavirus will end. He said : "How should I know, I am not a politician?"
Dr. Fauci says COVID-18 will start declining right after inauguration day on January 20th.

5 burning questions about the new COVID vaccine in the UK

The United Kingdom government has today announced its approval of the first Covid19 vaccine for general use. 800,000 doses are slated to be released for general use by the end of the week, and has already signed a contract for 40 million more doses (to go along with over 300 million doses of as-yet-unreleased vaccines from other companies).

With the newest phase in the Covid19 roll-out set to begin, it's time we addressed the five biggest questions about this vaccine, its effectiveness, its safety and whether or not we'll be forced to use it.

US government prepares for next pandemic

U.S. — With effective vaccines on the horizon, people are getting ready to finally see an end to the COVID-19 pandemic. Officials are now thinking of how to best prepare for the next global pandemic, with most settling on just going ahead and stripping people of their rights now.

"If there is one thing that stops an effective response to a pandemic, it's liberty," said California Governor Gavin Newsom. "People thinking they're free to do whatever they want will just lead to more deaths. So even when everyone is vaccinated, I'm still going to give everyone arbitrary rules for when they can leave their homes, what they're allowed to do, and what they have to wear so they're already used to obeying the government when the next crisis hits."

Rebellion Rising

Signs of the times —

Large anti-lockdown protests are sweeping across Europe. Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the UK, Poland. The media are trying to put a lid on coverage of these momentous events.

In Southern California, five sheriffs of populous counties (17 million people) are refusing to enforce Governor Newsom's new curfew order. A petition to recall the governor is gaining steam.

In New York, members of the Chasidic sect held a wedding attended by several thousand people, sitting closely packed without masks.

In a more intimate setting, up close and powerfully personal, gym members and owners in Buffalo, New York, shouted down cops and a public health officer, who had entered the gym because the gathering exceeded the prescribed limit. The gym personnel drove out the cops and followed them, to make sure they left the property.

In Buffalo, protestors came to the house of Erie County Executive, Mark Poloncarz, to express their anger at new lockdown restrictions. The protest was also aimed at New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Forced vaccination law in Denmark abandoned after protests

A law in Denmark that would have given authorities the power to forcibly inject people with a coronavirus vaccine has been abandoned after nine days of public protests.

The 'epidemic law' would have handed the Danish government the power to enact mandatory quarantine measures against anyone infected with a dangerous disease, but it was the part about vaccinations that caused the biggest uproar.

"The Danish Health Authority would be able to define groups of people who must be vaccinated in order to contain and eliminate a dangerous disease," reports the Local.

The COVID19 pandemic has thrown into sharp relief the concerns that a number of people have about vaccination. However, such is the eagerness to develop a vaccine, and get everyone to take it, that authorities are now looking to ban anyone who raises doubts. For example, the Labour Party in the UK is now calling for emergency 'anti-vaccine' laws:
'Emergency laws to "stamp out dangerous" anti-vaccine content online should be introduced, Labour has said. The party is calling for financial and criminal penalties for social media firms that do not remove false scare stories about vaccines.

It follows news of progress on the first effective coronavirus vaccine. The government said it took the issue "extremely seriously" with "a major commitment" from Facebook, Twitter and Google to tackle anti-vaccine content.' 1
There are so many things that could be said about this, that it is difficult to know where to start. Or to finish. I think in this blog I am just going to stick to focussing on a single issue. Which is that, if the intention of such laws is to ensure more people are keen to be vaccinated then I have news for the Labour party.

It will almost certainly backfire.

This is because state censorship does not change minds, never has. Whilst debate, at least superficially, has been silenced, the concerns do not disappear. Instead, the doubts are often redoubled. Once you start banning and censoring and fining and arresting, people start to wonder if you are just afraid to make your case. As Wendell Phillips said, and many people think:
'He who stifles free discussion, secretly doubts whether what he professes to believe is really true.'
Once censorship starts, people are also reminded of the worst, most dreadful periods in history the world has even seen. It has always been one of the primary tools of totalitarian regimes:- Nazi Germany, Russia under Stalin, North Korea, China and Iran today.

DNA, mRNA vaccines of the future!

Rejoice! The vaccine is nearly ready!

In case you didn't see the big news this week, Pfizer has announced that the preliminary results from the "Phase 3, late-stage study" of their COVID-19 vaccine show that it is "more than 90% effective in preventing COVID-19 in participants without evidence of prior SARS-CoV-2 infection in the first interim efficacy analysis."

Yay! As Dissembler-in-Chief Trump notes, this is a BIG WIN that was only made possible thanks to his COURAGEOUS LEADERSHIP in helping to WARP SPEED the wonderful vaccines directly into everyone's veins (with the help of the US military, of course):

Oh yes, Mr. President, sir! SUCH GREAT NEWS!

. . . Except for just a couple of teensy-weensy little problems. Like the fact that this announcement is just that: an announcement. There is no data to scrutinize here, nothing presented for public review (let alone peer review). This is a press release, literal corporate PR and nothing more.

And the fact that, as even their own "trust us, it works" statement goes on to note (buried 310 words into this lesson in propaganda), "As the study continues, the final vaccine efficacy percentage may vary." In other words: "We're irresponsibly releasing preliminary results that don't tell us anything because they make our future product look good and will generate a lot of excited media headlines in the mainstream corporate media that we fund with our advertising dollars."

And there's the fact that right after the announcement (and subsequent media extravaganza) Pfizer's CEO and executive vice president both sold millions of dollars worth of stock in the company. Nothing suspicious at all here, you crazy conspiracy theorists!

Bird flu fears: Dutch farms ordered to keep poultry indoors after 6 wild swans found dead

The Dutch government said Thursday it is ordering poultry farms to keep their birds indoors after six wild swans were found recently dead and tests on two of the birds came back positive for a highly pathogenic strain of bird flu.

The order was set to come into force at midnight Thursday, Agriculture Minister Carola Schouten said in a statement.

She said experts believe the H5N8 strain of avian influenza likely was brought to the Netherlands by birds migrating from Russia and Kazakhstan because the same strain circulated there over the summer.

Devastating fungal pathogen wheat blast arrives in Zambia, first time detected in Africa

Zambia wheat
© BATISEBA TEMBOSymptoms of wheat blast were first seen in experimental plots and small-scale farms in the Mpika district of Muchinga province in northern Zambia during the 2018 rainy season.
It could have been blown in by wind or transported by infected crop residue and maybe seeds — the exact mode of introduction remains debated. But the evidence for the presence of wheat blast is indisputable: the devastating fungal pathogen is now in Zambia, its first appearance in Africa.

"The detection of the disease in Africa is alarming," Tarekegn Terefe, a wheat pathologist at South Africa's Agriculture Research Council - Small Grain Institute, tells The Scientist. The disease is so deadly it can cause yield losses of more than 70 percent on susceptible cultivars, he says.

"The detection of the disease in Zambia puts southern African wheat-producing countries — South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Malawi — at high risk," Terefe explains. Previous studies have documented the occurrence of similar wheat fungal diseases in Zambia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, "indicating the possibility of inoculum exchange between these countries."

Comment: It's likely that, as we're seeing elsewhere on the planet with other diseases and infections, shifting climate patterns, as well as other Earth Changes, along with destructive agricultural practices have made the plants more vulnerable:
