Scotland: Dumbarton - 50 ft. translucent sphere containing an orange light

Date of Sighting: 18th July 2009
Time: 10.30pm

Witness Statement: Saw two glowing orange spheres traveling singly and separated by about 10 minutes heading west to east. They were spotted flying almost overhead from the back door of my house which lies about half a mile north of the River Clyde.

At a guess, both objects were flying level at around 2000ft and flying at about 100 knots. There was a slight westerly breeze, but certainly not of sufficient speed to blow a chinese lantern along. These things were clearly flying and maintaining a constant height and course.

Time: between 10.30pm & 12.00am each night

Witness Statement: On Monday night I was sitting in my kitchen having a cup of tea, when I looked out of the window and saw a large white object hovering above the chimney stacks opposite my flat. It moved up and down then from side to side at great speed then stopped again. My windows were open and there was no sound at all. It had a few yellow lights on one side of it. I managed to get a couple of pictures on my mobile phone and when my friend enlarged one image it was quite clearly a strange looking object with an orange train from it in the shape of a tick. It stayed there for almost 2 hours. This object has since reappeared for the past 2 nights though it stayed approximately 45 mins on Tuesday night and only 8 mins on Wednesday night.

Witness Statement: I went to bed at 1.00am and went to the windows to close them and shut the curtains. I then saw a bright green light that was shaped like a harp, it was not moving up or down or side to side but seemed to turn around and change into a green line. It turned again and looked like a wheel with green sparks coming from it. This happened a number of times, then at 1.50 it disappeared. It was very cloudy but this object was below the clouds and I could see the flashing lights of planes through the clouds. I just wish that I had had my camera but it was at my daughters. Weird!!

I write and investigate to the best of my ability about encounters of the unknown. Over the years I have talked to many who have had abductions or lost time events involving beings that were not human- taking humans.

Many of the experiences of abduction or lost time I have written about. Other events I have listened to but did not feel inspired to write about. I do believe most people I talk to yet also feel many are not as truthful as I had hoped they would be.

It is a difficult position to be in when dealing with paranormal subjects. I try to write about events that seem to be truthful and that did actually happen. I rely on logic and years of experience interviewing people as well as my own personal knowledge of some of the subjects I write about. I try hard to avoid attention seekers and agenda folks to the best of my ability.

Like any job skill you learn with practice how to do it well as you tackle and work your way along all the unknown paths. In time you develop a second sense about the people you talk to and let that guide your judgment. I feel after years of doing this that I have developed a second sense of things and know rather quickly who is telling me an experience that they truly encountered and who is making it up as they go.

US: Triangle UFOs back in the skies over four states

The triangle-shaped UFO reports are back in the news with four reports in four states today, according to witness testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

Triangles took a back seat recently with the tremendous July reports across the country of Orange Lights, and most recently a run on Bright Lights moving in seemingly controlled manners across our air space.

While not all reports have been tallied, the UFO Traffic Report covered 32 triangle cases in April and 25 in May. The triangle reports then seemed to drop off sometime in June, and were replaced by many of the Orange Light cases in July. These numbers are not scientific and may not reflect current trends, but are based solely on what was covered on these pages through reports from the MUFON database.

Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If MUFON investigates and reports back on any of these cases, I will update this page. US: Man describes possible Bigfoot encounter in McDowell, North Carolina

For a long time, this column has featured some weird stories about Bigfoot sightings in the western North Carolina mountains. It seems that folks in Burke, Buncombe, Caldwell, Rutherford, Ashe and Macon counties have some strange tales to tell about a mysterious monster in their mountains.

Many of these tales can be found on the Web site for the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO). The BFRO's Web site is a place where folks can post their sightings anonymously and be taken seriously by qualified investigators. The good people with the BFRO will look into the matter and follow up on your sighting, no matter how unusual it may be. The Web site now lists 50 reports from North Carolina.

The list of cosmic objects that could hit Earth is growing. Scientists study satellite 'tractors' and nuclear weapons as ways to divert asteroids headed our way.

When an object smacked into Jupiter over the weekend, giving astronomers their best cosmic-collision show since the comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 in 1994, the giant gas ball of a planet took the poke like the Pillsbury Dough Boy.

For all its scientific interest, however, the collision also serves as a stark reminder that the solar system remains a shooting gallery - with Earth, as well as Jupiter, on the wrong side of the firing line.

The object's signature on Jupiter's cloud tops initially was discovered by Australian amateur astronomer Anthony Wesley as he gathered digital images of the giant planet through his 14.5-inch telescope. After alerting other astronomers to what appeared to be a "scar" in the cloud tops similar to those generated by the pieces of Shoemaker-Levy 9, NASA scientists trained a 3-meter (9.8-foot) infrared telescope on the planet and got a good look at the scar.

England: Strange lights in the sky over the city

Did anyone else see the mystery objects in the sky on Saturday evening, between 10.30pm and 10.45pm?

I live near the top of Old Tiverton Road. At 10.30pm I went outside. Looking up towards the west I saw a red light coming towards me just below the cloud.

I thought it was an aircraft approaching Exeter Airport. As it passed overhead there was no sound, which is strange. Then, looking back in the direction it came from, two more lights appeared. They flew overhead and disappeared towards the east, as more lights appeared. Within the space of 15 minutes there must have been 20 lights. The lights traveled randomly - but all in the same direction - on a straight course, except two that altered direction rapidly, but later resumed the same course as the others.

Canada: Man Sees Totally White Flat Saucer Shaped in Day Sky

Location of Sighting: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Description: I was in the passenger side of a white van making my way home towards Oshawa from a job I did out in Markham Ontario. At around 7:10 PM I looked up in the sky to my left. About 3/4s down the horizon view heading along 14th avenue I saw a totally white flat/saucer shaped object. I didn't actually think much about it. I figured it was a plane and that the sun reflecting off the surface of the aircraft obscured the view of its wings. Well it only got interesting from there. I watched it go towards the north and then right behind a cloud. Except that as soon as it went behind the clouds was when I realized that I had seen a UFO. It only became clearer that it was not an aircraft like a Boeing 747 and definitely no little plane after it failed to exit the other side of the cloud. As soon as it went 'behind' the cloud I also realized the size of this object. It must have been at least a mile wide. It was simply HUGE. My eyes went bright and I didn't really know what to think. The whole way home I kept trying to debunk it in my head. I never take anything at face value, and it is important to question. I tried to find an answer but I couldn't. It was definitely not a big 747 passenger airliner or a small aircraft or anything like that. I swear on my child's life that everything I am telling you is true.

Location of Sighting: Gateacre Liverpool towards Widnes
Date of Sighting: 18th/19th.July 09
Time: Around 2400

Witness Statement: I let the dog out for a wee, I had been asleep. I live in Gateacre and my home is slightly elevated and looks towards the M62. The sky was blanket covered in cloud. As I looked up I saw 2 white lights below the cloud base off that seemed to be traveling in convoy towards the Runcorn Bridge. They were bright and constant.

As I watched I saw a third and then a fourth come into my vision.They were part of the convoy but they both maintained a greater distance between them, I would say three times that of one and two. I watched for a few minutes and saw number 2 fire a beam of light or something at number 1.
