An amateur photographer from Westbury has taken what he describes as 'a shot in a million' of a UFO seemingly tracking an RAF plane.

The 56 year-old, from The Butts, Westbury, who wishes to remain anonymous, took this photograph at about 3.45pm on July 22 while in his garden looking towards the Westbury White Horse.

The image shows a Hercules from RAF Lyneham being trailed by a mysterious shape in the background.

The photographer said: "I don't believe in things from outer space - I think that kind of thing is ludicrous - but that thing was definitely tracking the plane.

Mysterious orange lights have been spotted "flying in formation" in the night sky.

Paul Lockwood saw four lights moving at a steady speed above Cambridge at 10.20pm on Saturday. The same night, at 10.45pm, a Meldreth resident saw seven bright orange lights moving across the sky.

The sightings are the latest in a spate of similar reports. Earlier this month, a Little Eversden resident told the News of seeing a blindingly bright white light in the sky.

Last month, an "armada" of lights was reported hovering over Huntingdon.

Also, a string of 50 lights was seen over Huntingdon last month - but it is thought they were simply a chain of Chinese lanterns released at a memorial ceremony.

Location of Sighting: Clearwater, Florida (West Coast of Florida Near Tampa)

The witness called left a voice-mail shortly after his sighting occurred. He stated that he saw two lights (objects) in a ten minute period. The first object moved from the northwest towards the southeast. The object was of orange-red color and moved in a straight path. The object then flashed a brighter color (about the same brightness as Venus), ascended and became dimmer and was no longer visible. Ten minutes a object similar in appearance was seen except that it moved from west towards the east. This object displayed similar behavior. The witness lives close to the airport and is convinced that he did not see aircraft.

Date of Sighting: 30th July 2009
Time: 12.00am

Witness Statement: 12:00AM 30th July 09. Left my house in the Glen Palacefields Runcorn with a friend to drop him off when entering my car a MASSIVE white flash lit up the sky and the carpark, looked like a powerful camera flash but NO NOISE. Both me and my friend commented as thinking someone was in the close or the police helicopter was overhead. When driving on the expressway again a massive flash over the Hallwood estate to my right above again no noise when only being about 500 yrds away from where it looked like it originated in the estate or above.

Witness Statement: My wife and myself have just returned from a caravanning holiday in Cayton Bay.

Last Monday night (20/07/2009) we had been walking along Cayton bay and while ascending the hillside from the beach two military sounding jets flew overhead heading out to sea and turned North.

Approx 10 minutes later while returning to the camp site at approx 22:45hrs we observed what can only be described as an orange orb traveling across the sky in an easterly direction, initially we thought it was maybe a helicopter with a search light on, but as it approached the "light/shape" did not alter in size or shape and there was no engine sounds.

Witness Statement: Walking past Heckington church sat night about 10.30 when 4 orange lights were in the sky towards east Heckington direction. One light at the bottom was stationary while the other three were moving up and down side to side getting nearer then further away from each other, then each one descended into the 4th bottom one and then it just faded away there was no noise at all coming from them. Can anyone explain this?

An Ipswich couple are convinced they had a close encounter when they spotted a mystifying orange light in the sky above their Frobisher Road home.

Cathy Calthorpe was putting her children to bed when her partner Chris Betts screamed for her to join him at the window.

She rushed to his side and was stunned by what she saw.

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 16-year-old boy witnessed what appeared to be several yellow flashing lights hovering above the open field of Kampong Lumut Housing Development area on Tuesday morning and filmed the encounter on his mobile phone.

The suspicious yellow flashing lights dotting the bright sky of Lumut reportedly occurred for over 30 minutes between 6 and 7am, said the teen's father, Awg Zunadee bin Haji Rahman, 41.

The mysterious lights were first spotted by his 18-year-old daughter Dyg Saiiedatul Ilmie when she opened the back door of the kitchen and saw two unusual continuous yellow flashing objects stationary above the field.

US: University professor witnesses low flying UFO over UMKC campus

A professor at University of Missouri-Kansas City watched a "circular or sphere-shaped craft" flying low and slow across the sky," according to witness testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

"The craft looked dark but it had an orange glow around the entire thing - there were no other lights on it," the professor stated. "I tried to determine the source of the glowing light but it looked like it enveloped the entire craft. There were no lights, wings, or tail and it did not look like an airplane or helicopter."

The professor said the object was very close, and "approximately the size of a grapefruit held at arm's length."

He said he heard a "very low pitched hum" for a few minutes, but then the humming stopped. The object moved from southwest to northwest and he lost sight of it behind some trees.

The entire sighting lasted 12 minutes, enough time, he said, to attempt to use a cell phone to call his wife. But during the sighting, the cell phone kept giving him the message - "out of service area," but once the craft was gone - he was able to use the phone without problems.

Location of Sighting: Cardiff, UK and Portinatx, Ibiza
Date of Sighting: Cardiff 18th July and 26th June and Ibiza 11th June 2009
Time: Around midnight for all

Witness Statement: Ibiza - group of around 15 people sat in bar in hotel over looking the bay, looked out to see huge bright orange light, and I mean huge, sat over the water which was still. Stayed there for a few minutes then disappeared as if it was going out of the universe.

Marshfield ,Cardiff - first sighting was down the Port O'Call pub 26th June, this bright orange light was moving across the sky but it was cloudy so after a few minutes it was no longer visible. Second sighting was 18th July at my partner's dads farm talking to my friends when out of the corner of my eye I saw a big bright orange light out the window. Not as big as the one in Ibiza but bigger than the last one I saw.
