Witness Statement: My wife and myself have just returned from a caravanning holiday in Cayton Bay.

Last Monday night (20/07/2009) we had been walking along Cayton bay and while ascending the hillside from the beach two military sounding jets flew overhead heading out to sea and turned North.

Approx 10 minutes later while returning to the camp site at approx 22:45hrs we observed what can only be described as an orange orb traveling across the sky in an easterly direction, initially we thought it was maybe a helicopter with a search light on, but as it approached the "light/shape" did not alter in size or shape and there was no engine sounds.

As it passed us the light/shape again did not alter, apart from getting smaller as it went into the distance.

We observed this for approx 3 - 4 mins we lost sight as it entered clouds in the direction of Filey, as the object went from view we turned to see a Police vehicle pulling up and parking off the roundabout by Cayton bay / Osgodby on the A165.
