US: Woman Sees Large Slow Moving Dark Object

Time of Sighting: 7:40 PM PDT
Location of Sighting: Los Angeles, California (Englewood)

Description: On August 1, 2009 between approximately 7:30 - 7:45 p.m., I was outside sitting on the curb in front of my house watching my neighbor do some work on my car. I'm always watching the sky. I was watching the weird summer weather. Dark clouds were rolling in from the west when I saw this "object" in the sky. At first I thought maybe it was some type of bird or maybe a plane, but it wasn't anything I've ever seen. The movement was quite odd. It wasn't balloons either. It was moving very, very slowly northeastward and upward. I couldn't really make out the shape because it was so high up, but it was weird. It did appear to be big and black. The closest thing that I can imagine that it looked like was a REALLY big bird or something similarly shaped (I'm afraid to even mention that I thought almost "humanoid".

Witness Statement: My friends and I were sat at a garden table discussing this and that. I was sat with a hedge to the right of me and beyond that another garden and beyond that a few more then a street light. I was sat so that the light was glaring through the hedge into my eyes. I grew frustrated at this and moved to get a better seat. As I did so, I scoured at the lamp as to show it a piece of my mind. In any case in doing so I noticed that the light that was causing me irritation was not that of the lamp post but of a bright orange orb or sphere above it.

England: Snake Pass, A57-Derbyshire - Two very large bright orange balls of light hovering over water

Time: 3.30 am

Witness Statement: I was driving along the Snake Pass between Manchester and Shefield at 3.30 am. I reached Lady Bower Reser and saw two very large very bright orange balls of light hovering over the water. They were approx 500 meters from me and about 50 foot above water. Estimate size about 25 foot in diameter. I could tell this because of surrounding trees, hills, etc. I stopped my car and got out, there was no noise and the air was very still. I watched the balls of light for about 10 seconds then they moved off in the direction of Manchester at a slowish speed.

Witness Statement: On Saturday 25th July about 11 am my partner and I were having breakfast with our friends in the garden of their house just outside Tunbridge Wells. The garden is large with a wide expanse of sky and surrounded by countryside so you can see for a long way on three sides. Blue sky and sun that morning with a few clouds. I was the first to see an object quite far away to the right - it caught my eye because it was reflecting the sun and I knew at once it was not a plane. I alerted my friends and we all watched it as it flew in our direction on a set course and a steady speed of, we thought, 50 to 70 mph.

Time: 21.30

Witness Statement: It was a warm clear evening with a light breeze as I was walking along the river towards Mudeford when I noticed a bright intense orange light in the sky. I watched closely as it drew nearer listening for the sound of aircraft engines but I could not hear anything. However as it came closer the light slowly diminished until it had disappeared completely. Then I could see the shape of the object clearly. It was sphere shaped and looked dark against the sky, I watched until it disappeared on the horizon. Then I walked further into the grass playing field, where I met a man called Jeff walking his dog. So I quickly asked him if he had seen the object in the evening sky, he said yes he had seen it and thought it was very strange, then as we discussed what we had seen, Jeff suddenly said look another one! I looked up and saw the bright orange light in the sky, & we both watched as the light slowly diminished as before, then we could clearly see again the shape of the object.

Witness Statement: Hi, I'm from Cottingham, and in the past I've seen strange lights moving horizontally over the sky then disappearing quickly by zipping across the sky. However tonight on August 5th at about 10pm I saw this strange large bright orange light rise from the distance, as it caught my eye while watching television in my living room. I quickly ran to the window and dismissed the large orange light for a balloon of some sorts as it just seems to rise very quickly with a flame like colour. But very quickly it began to rise faster and then stop extremely quickly in the sky then begin moving horizontally in the sky, left and right, before stopping again and quickly speeding away, and I lost sight of it within 5-10 seconds. I went outside to see if I could see anything and there was nothing to be seen.

Witness Statement: I know I'm from Canada, but I have not found another place to put this and there have been many of the same type of sightings as mine.

We were sitting on our deck when we suddenly saw a bright orange and red glowing thing moving across the sky. It was traveling West to East high in the sky. It was traveling faster then a plane. As we were watching it, it suddenly picked up speed and then disappeared. We thought it might have been a weather balloon but now that we know that people around the world saw the same thing we know it wasn't. We are now firm believers that there is life on other planets.

New York, August 3, 2009 - Unknown triangular object flies over my house. MUFON Case # 18455.

A Staten Island, New York, witness out walking his dog first noticed two lights in the sky "moving rather quickly." Once the object was overhead, they "noticed it it was actually 3 lights in a triangular shape with a blinking red light dead in the center. I could not see the outline of the object, but it was blocking out the stars above it." They said that this silent object was larger than a plane. They also report "a 4th light in between the 2 lights in the back of the craft. It seemed very odd that a 4th light would just illuminate suddenly."
