Date of Sighting: 25th July 2009
Time: 11 am

Witness Statement: On Saturday 25th July about 11 am my partner and I were having breakfast with our friends in the garden of their house just outside Tunbridge Wells. The garden is large with a wide expanse of sky and surrounded by countryside so you can see for a long way on three sides. Blue sky and sun that morning with a few clouds. I was the first to see an object quite far away to the right - it caught my eye because it was reflecting the sun and I knew at once it was not a plane. I alerted my friends and we all watched it as it flew in our direction on a set course and a steady speed of, we thought, 50 to 70 mph.

We are all sceptics when it comes to UFOs so, as we watched, we went through everything it might be - aeroplane, helicopter, weather balloon - none of these - it was roundish, no wings and certainly no tail. It was also definitely powered and was on its way from A to B. and, at its nearest point - and it was quite near and well below cloud level - utterly soundless. It was silver and very bright because it continued to reflect sunlight. It did not deviate from its course nor did its speed change. There was no trail of smoke or anything at all to suggest that it was a natural object which had entered the Earth's atmosphere and was burning up. On the contrary, we all agreed that it was 'manufactured' as opposed to 'natural' as the surface appeared smooth. I thought, at its nearest point, I saw, momentarily, a few round dark shapes which appeared attached to it in a semi-circle at the back although as soon as I saw this they seemed to disappear. We watched it for about thirty seconds coming towards us passing in front of us and on to our left before the house blocked our view on the left.

What was it?! None of us has ever seen anything like it and the reports one reads of UFOs seem to be at night. We'd be grateful for an explanation!
