Airline passengers could be vulnerable to the effects of cosmic rays from the sun during a massive solar storm, a new report has found.

The Government has ordered Public Health England to conduct an 'urgent' investigation into the repercussions of increased radiation caused by a huge explosion of high energy particles from the surface of the sun.

This comes as a report into the UK's Space Weather Preparedness outlines what needs to be done to cope with a major burst of 'space weather.'

The document produced by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) states: 'The direct impact on public health from the increased radiation environment, which is most likely to affect the general public if they are travelling by air on trans-oceanic routes during the storm, is assessed to be small.

'However, the work on this area being led by Public Health England needs to be completed urgently.

'That will lead to a report that sets out recommendations for protecting public health from solar radiation.'

Comment: Given increased cosmic rays and radiation, could there be a link to increasing rates of cancer? Are there other health hazards and/or DNA mutations that changing quantities/qualities of cosmic rays are capable of producing? See also:

Toxic waste spilled by EPA into river in Colorado reaches New Mexico, leaving communities with 90-day water supply

Toxic waste, including arsenic and lead, which seeped into a river in southwest Colorado, has now crossed the state border into New Mexico. More than 550 gallons per minute are entering the water flow system according to the Environmental Protection Agency, which caused the spill.

The agency says it should have the results of samples undergoing lab testing soon, so they can find out just how contaminated the river has become. Aside from lead and arsenic, federal officials say the spill also contains, cadmium, aluminum, copper and calcium.

High levels of arsenic can cause blindness, paralysis and cancer, while lead poisoning can create muscle and vision problems in adults and can be fatal for children.

"We're busting our tails to get that out," Environmental Protection Agency Regional Director Shaun McGrath said, as cited by AP. "We know the importance to people to have this information."

The rising toll of Ground Zero responders and others afflicted with 9/11-linked cancers has hit 3,700. The staggering tally of those suffering cancers certified by the feds as 9/11-related includes FDNY members (1,100), cops and other Ground Zero responders (2,134), and survivors such as downtown workers and residents (467). Many have more than one type of cancer.

The FDNY's chief medical officer, Dr. David Prezant, said over 2,100 firefighters and EMS personnel have retired on disability with World Trade Center-related illnesses, mostly lung disease and cancer, since 9/11. "Due to the physical nature of their jobs, these illnesses have had a tremendous impact on our membership and their families," he said in a statement. The grim toll includes 109 FDNY responders who have died from WTC-linked illnesses, 44 of them from cancer.


Comment: Two days after the collapse of the World Trade Center, New York mayor Giuliani said, "The air is safe as far as we can tell, with respect to chemical and biological agents." In the first month after the attacks, the mayor said, "The air quality is safe and acceptable." Consequently, workers worked without proper respirators. They wore painters' masks or no covering. Appropriate protection was not provided to responders nor thousands of volunteers.


Comment: Another source states nearly 70,000 New Yorkers have applied for 9/11 victim compensation, mostly for cancers attributed to direct exposure to ionizing radiation from "nuclear sources." This number includes 10,800 downtown workers and 39,500 Ground Zero responders. Another 16,600 are from residents, students child-care and health-care workers. This is touted as the largest cancer cluster in history, more than Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined (the only other similar spike of multiple myeloma cases). Of the 70,000 victims, over 90% say they were exposed within a one-square-mile area.

There is thought to be a cover-up in that only one death had been "officially reported" (as of May 2014) and only a small number of victims had been compensated. It was noted that the number of cancer deaths has been "classified." Multiple myeloma, the prevalent 9/11 cancer, is known as "the Hiroshima disease" and the official story is victims got it from breathing drywall dust. The US government has denied the Agent Orange dioxin exposure in the Vietnam War, the Gulf War Syndrome, and now 9/11 exposure. Perhaps the victims and statistics speak otherwise.

From 10,000 consumer complaints the FDA compiled a list of 92 Symptoms reported from aspartame use, including death.

Comment: Aspartame is the main sweetener in diet sodas and is one of the most dangerous ingredients used in our food supply, causing seizures and a host of other health issues. Coca Cola funds non-profit organization to spread obesity disinformation

Coca-Cola has pumped millions of dollars into the founding of a new nonprofit that claims there is "strong evidence" that lack of exercise is mostly to blame for obesity, not poor diet. Coke, the leading producer of soda and sugary drinks across the world, has invested heavily in the Global Energy Balance Network, a nonprofit run by a handful of university scientists who were offered $4 million by Coke to fund various research projects, according to the New York Times.

Halting weight gain should be less about dieting and more about "maintaining an active lifestyle and eating more calories," the group said on its website. The group's proof of this claim comes down to two research papers, both of which end with the same footnote: "The publication of this article was supported by The Coca-Cola Company."

The organization calls itself "the voice of science" on its website. It ultimately bills itself as a "not for profit dedicated to reversing the obesity & chronic disease epidemics through healthy lifestyle behaviors."

Comment: This is clearly not about science, but about a corporation doing what it can to maintain its profit margin at the expense of the general public's health. Nothing can get in the way of a company's bottom line. Despite all the scientific evidence tying obesity with sugar and high fructose corn syrup consumption, Coca-Cola is doing all it can to provide false information in order to enhance profits. It's worth repeating, if a corporation like Coca-Cola were a person, they could easily be labeled a psychopath.

Nerves fired and my calf muscles began to perform flexion and extension exercises independently of my conscious control.

As this response continued, one of my calf muscles that had become paralyzed by the neuropathic condition — diagnosed as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy — came back to life as electric-like jolts shot through the area.

The number of people diagnosed with Legionnaires disease has risen to 108 as America's largest city suffers from a record outbreak of the form of pneumonia, authorities said Saturday.

No new deaths have been reported on top of the 10 announced earlier in the week and officials say the outbreak is now on the decline.

To date, 94 people have been admitted to the hospital with the infection since the outbreak began on July 10 in the south Bronx, the poorest section of New York state.

The disease is spread by a bacteria, which has recently been discovered in the cooling towers of five buildings in the South Bronx area.

Officials believe the cause of the outbreak came from one of the sites, which has since been cleaned and disinfected.

All those who died were older patients and had pre-existing medical conditions. Legionnaires' disease is not contagious and can be treated with antibiotics.

"This is literally unchartered territory," New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said Saturday.

"We've never seen an outbreak of Legionnaires like this in the city," he told reporters.

Several years ago I noticed that the children who accompanied their parents to my office sat through the visit in a near fetal position playing their Nintendos. Next came the cell phones, and the kids would sit staring downwards texting their thumbs off. I commented to the parents at the time that cell phones would create the next syndrome, the way computers initially started a spike in carpal tunnel syndrome. I suggested we start the term, Texter's neck. Well, guess what? Medical specialists now use the term, "text neck" to describe the effects of prolonged head tilt on the cervical spine. By the way, it was not tremendous foresight on my part to suggest the name, because really, what else would you call it?

Here are some dry, but important facts. Research shows that tilting a head 15 degrees from neutral position adds 27 pounds of stress on the cervical spine and muscles. More tilt increases the force and strain on the neck. This can eventually cause degeneration of the cervical spine and discs. These degenerative changes can lead to neck pain, back pain, shoulder and wrist problems, jaw pain, headaches, and important postural changes that will be discussed shortly. One study showed that people often hold their breath or change their breathing while texting. This causes heightened stress, and can put extra burden on the neck and upper back muscles.
