What's going on with young women and their lady bits?

Teen girls are increasingly asking their doctors about getting a little nip 'n' tuck—of their labia. So much so, in fact, that the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) has issued guidelines on how doctors should talk with adolescents about labiaplasty, a surgical reduction of the labia that is often done for cosmetic reasons. The short of it, they say, is that doctors should emphasize non-surgical alternatives and the wide range of what's "normal" down there.

"Variety in the shape, size, appearance and symmetry of labia can have particularly distressing psychological effects on young women," said Julie Strickland, the chair of ACOG's Adolescent Health Care Committee and lead author of the paper, in a press release. "It's one more body part that women are insecure about and it's our job, as ob-gyns, to reassure our young patients." This matters because, as Strickland put it to Vocativ, "labiaplasty is not a minor procedure"—and it comes with the risk of serious complications, including pain, scarring and infection.

Fluorides and the A-bomb

fluoride
© Brad Harley
In 1997, Joel Griffiths and Chris Bryson, two respected mainstream journalists, peered into an abyss. They found a story about fluorides that was so chilling it had to be told.

The Christian Science Monitor, who had assigned the story, never published it.

Their ensuing article, "Fluoride, Teeth, and the Atomic Bomb," has been posted on websites, sometimes with distortions, deletions, or additions. I spoke with Griffiths, and he told me to be careful I was reading a correct copy of his piece. (You can find it—"Fluoride, Teeth, and the Atomic Bomb," at fluoridealert.org.)

Griffiths also told me that researchers who study the effects of fluorides by homing in on communities with fluoridated drinking water, versus communities with unfluoridated water, miss a major point: fluorides are everywhere—they are used throughout the pharmaceutical industry in the manufacture of drugs, and also in many other industries (e.g., aluminum, pesticide).

We are crawling with microbes

On a daily basis, we walk around surrounded by our own unique microbial cloud.

Humans are crawling with microorganisms—indeed, each of us has our own unique microbial ecosystem, otherwise known as a "microbiome." Microorganisms are the smallest forms of life, and the human microbiome includes bacteria, viruses and fungi. There are more microbial cells on and in our bodies than the ten trillion human cells which make us what we are. This microbial life helps us to break down our food, provides vitamins we cannot produce and plays a big role in keeping us healthy.

Harvard has mumps - despite vaccinations

A mumps outbreak at Harvard University has affected 40 members of the school community in the last two months threatens to jeopardize the upcoming commencement ceremony.

Nearly a dozen students were still in isolation as of Monday evening, according to Boston.com.

Harvard first announced in March there were two confirmed cases of mumps at the school. The number has continued to rise despite investigations into the infection's cause and efforts to isolate affected students.

Comment: Once again Mumps vaccine proves ineffective:
A provocative new study titled, "Epidemic of complicated mumps in previously vaccinated young adults in the South-West of France," reveals that the MMR vaccine, despite generating high rates of presumably protective IgG antibodies against mumps, does not always translate into real-world immunity against infection as we have repeatedly been told. To the contrary, the study details cases where, despite the detection of high levels of antibodies against the mumps virus, patients contracted a malignant form of mumps that only rarely follows from natural, community acquired infection.

Vaccine Failure Is Well Established In the Scientific Literature

While counter-intuitive to those who uncritically accept the official marketing copy of the vaccine industry and their cheerleaders within government and the mainstream media, the research community and general public is beginning to appreciate how prevalent and well-documented vaccine failure really is, especially in the case of measles, hepatitis B, chickenpox, pertussis (whooping cough), HIV, polio, HPV, and influenza vaccines that do not work as advertised.

Iodine: The miraculous mineral for your brain, body and spirit

iodine for health
When most people think about iodine, they tend to think it's only good for the thyroid. But it's not just the thyroid that is hungry for this mineral! Iodine is also concentrated in the salivary glands, the lining of the stomach and the small intestine, the breasts and ovaries, the eyes, and the part of the brain where cerebro-spinal fluid is produced.

Deficiency of iodine in any tissue can cause problems with that area of the body and weakens the immune system. Some symptoms of iodine deficiency are brain fog, nodules in the skin like are common with arthritis, fibrosis and fibroids, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue.

Dr. David Brownstein's book Iodine: Why You Need It, Why You Can't Live Without It is perhaps one of the best's books on iodine. In his book, he explains how iodine can kill fungi, bacteria, viruses and how it removes fluoride and enables the body to detox heavy metals— even the toxic metals (e.g., mercury, cadmium) that other detox methods can't remove.

Iodine basically feeds your glands; it feeds all your cells. More researchers are rediscovering that this mineral has miraculous effects on the entire body.

The Nobel laureate Dr. Albert Szent Györgi (1893 - 1986), the physician who discovered vitamin C, wrote:

Poisoned needles: Indian health experts question universal vaccination

vaccine
© GAVI/09/Olivier Asselin
The implementation of a pentavalent (5 actives in one vaccine) into the Indian health system has caused great concern, especially since "Every few days one more child dies after receiving the pentavalent vaccine... Yet as these deaths mount, it has been announced that pentavalent vaccine is to be introduced in 3 more states..." [1]

The five-in-one vaccine contains actives for diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B, and Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib). It seems that the hepatitis B active is questioned as not being protective of infections in babies. How interesting! As a result, parents are refusing to have their children vaccinated, while vaccination rates have fallen off dramatically—25 percent in the last four years.

Why the documentary Vaxxed is controversial

Vaxxed
© cinemalibrestudio.com
Recently Dr. Andrew Wakefield directed the documentary Vaxxed to educate the public about autism in general, and more specifically to address the coverup of the 2004 research connecting the MMR vaccine to autism.

Gastroenterologist Wakefield has become a champion for the autism community, which stands behind Wakefield's dedication and work to help the growing numbers of children suffering from autism. Dr. Wakefield's work has focused on alleviating the gastrointestinal distress often accompanying patients of autism. [1]

The movie Vaxxed is controversial because the coverup of the MMR vaccine connection to autism has far-reaching implications for the very deep corruption in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the thousands of children who have suffered from a devastating disease that could have been avoided. Discrediting this information and keeping it from the public's attention is paramount for the pharmaceutical companies that profit from vaccines. [2,3]

Cold: Can it make you stronger?

Wim Hof claims that a regime of cold baths and breathing techniques will stave off the flu and boost your immune system.

Cold showers are commonly associated with dousing sexual urges, tropical holidays and plumbing emergencies. But Dutch daredevil Wim Hof, who holds the world record for the longest time immersed in an ice bath, claims they can also teach people how to control their immune system.

Hof was nicknamed "The Iceman" for his seemingly freakish feats, which include climbing Everest while wearing shorts, swimming under swathes of polar ice, and running a half-marathon in the Arctic Circle. But he wasn't satisfied with merely getting into the Guinness Book of Records. Hof wanted to demonstrate that his techniques allowed him to manipulate his nervous system at will, something biologists consider impossible - and also that anybody could do it.

Mercury poisoning crisis puts Amazon Indians at risk

Illegal gold mining in the Amazon has a devastating effect on indigenous peoples, writes Sarina Kidd. First the miners bring disease, deforestation and even murder. Then long after they have gone, communities are left to suffer deadly mercury poisoning. Now the UN has been called on to intervene.

Mercury poisoning is devastating tribal peoples across Amazonia, Survival International has warned.

In a letter to the UN Special Rapporteur for Health, Survival International highlighted the failure of South American governments to address the contamination.

Exposure to mercury is highly dangerous and can be fatal. Its effects include kidney malfunction, respiratory failure and acute anemia.

Surprise! Shingles risk increased by chickenpox vaccine

shingles
© amoils.com
Before the licensing of the live varicella zoster (chickenpox) virus vaccine in 1995 and subsequent mandating of the vaccine for all children in the U.S., chickenpox itself was considered one of the milder "rites of passage" for children and the vast majority of children experienced the common childhood disease before age ten. Most people have heard about how parents commonly held so-called "chickenpox parties" to expose their little ones to the highly contagious but generally mild viral infection and get it out of the way, instead of chancing the illness cropping up at an inopportune time, in the middle of a vacation for example.

When the vaccine was licensed 20 years ago, there were about 50 to 100 deaths related to chickenpox complications reported in the U.S. every year, mostly among the immune compromised, with roughly half being children and half being adults.1 In this post-vaccination era, public health officials present chickenpox as a very serious disease with frequent complications, albeit one that they say has been almost eliminated and rendered harmless thanks to a successful mass vaccination program.

Comment: Vitamin C, shingles, and vaccination
Treatment of shingles with vitamin C

The clinical response of shingles to vitamin C therapy is decidedly different from its response to traditional therapies. While there are not many reports in the literature on vitamin C and shingles, the studies that do exist are striking. Frederick Klenner, MD, who pioneered the effective use of vitamin C in a wide variety of infections and toxin exposures, published the results of his vitamin C therapy on eight patients with shingles. He gave 2,000 to 3,000 mg of vitamin C by injection every 12 hours, supplemented by 1,000 mg in fruit juice by mouth every two hours. In seven of the eight patients treated in this manner, complete pain relief was reported within two hours of the first vitamin C injection. All patients received a total of five to seven vitamin C injections. Having had shingles myself years before I knew of the efficacy of vitamin C therapy, I can assert that this is nothing short of a stunning result on what is usually a painful and debilitating disease.
