FDA vaccine advisers 'disappointed' and 'angry' that early data about new Covid-19 booster shot wasn't presented for review last year

covid vaccine
Some vaccine advisers to the federal government say they're "disappointed" and "angry" that government scientists and the pharmaceutical company Moderna didn't present a set of infection data on the company's new Covid-19 booster during meetings last year when the advisers discussed whether the shot should be authorized and made available to the public.

That data suggested the possibility that the updated booster might not be any more effective at preventing Covid-19 infections than the original shots.

The data was early and had many limitations, but several advisers told CNN that they were concerned about a lack of transparency.

US taxpayers spent nearly $5 billion on the new booster, which has been given to more than 48.2 million people in the US.

'Russian trolls' had no impact on 2016 US election - study

Accounts labeled as "Russian trolls" on Twitter had no impact on the 2016 US presidential election, according to a study published on Monday in Nature Communications. A team of researchers could not find any evidence that interactions with content attributed to the "Internet Research Agency" (IRA) in any way influenced attitudes, voting patterns, or political divisions.

Led by the New York University Center for Social Media and Politics, the study found "no evidence of a meaningful relationship between the exposure to the Russian foreign influence campaign and changes in attitudes, polarization, or voting behavior."

"My personal sense coming out of this is that this got way overhyped," Josh Tucker, one of the study's authors, told the Washington Post.

It's not just Jordan Peterson: Nurse Amy Hamm's battle with her licensing college continues

The billboard Hamm was involved with was to serve as a symbol of solidarity with the Harry Potter author who is also an advocate for sex-based rights.

Amy Hamm
By now, you've likely heard about how Canadian clinical psychologist and brilliant commentator Jordan Peterson is having his freedom of thought and expression threatened by his regulatory body, the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO). You can learn more about his plight and take action at SavePeterson.com.

But Peterson isn't the only one.

New Westminster nurse and mother of two Amy Hamm is also in a free speech battle against her regulatory body, the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM). Like Peterson, the alleged thought crimes against Hamm have nothing to do with how she has treated patients, and everything to do with expressing opinions on social media that do not neatly align with the 'affirm all things trans or else,' narrative.

FAA system restored after outage that halted all US domestic flight departures - Canada also hit with outage

The FAA said the ground stop was lifted at around 8:50 a.m. and normal air traffic operations were resuming gradually, as it continues to look into the cause of the problem.

Flights across the United States resumed Wednesday morning, several hours after the Federal Aviation Administration suffered a computer outage that forced it to halt all departures nationwide while it scrambled to resolve the issue.

The FAA said the crippling delays that affected thousands of flights appear to have been caused by a problem in the Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) system, which sends pilots vital information they need to fly.

Investigators have seen no evidence of a cyberattack, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said.

Comment: Canada also had an outage:
Less than two hours after announcing the outage, which NAV Canada said was affecting "newly issued NOTAMs," the organization confirmed the system had been "restored."
This reminds us of similar outages that occurred right before 9-11.

Arkansas Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders will prohibit the use of the term "Latinx" in government documents through an executive order.

Sanders, who was sworn in as the first female governor of Arkansas on Tuesday, justified the ban of the word "Latinx" in government documents and name titles by citing a Pew Research poll that found only 3% of American Latinos and Hispanics used the term to describe themselves.

"Ethnically insensitive and pejorative language has no place in official government documents or government employee titles," Sanders' executive order states. "The government has a responsibility to respect its citizens and use ethnically appropriate language, particularly when referring to ethnic minorities."

The woman suspected of carrying out the November terrorist attack in Turkey's Istanbul confesses that WhatsApp applications were downloaded to her phone via two US phone numbers.

The woman suspected of organizing the November terrorist attack in Turkey's Istanbul said she received the orders via a messenger connected to her mobile device via two US phone lines, Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reported on Wednesday, citing the detainee's testimony.

The female suspect, Ahlam Albashir, said as quoted by the newspaper that one of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK, which is banned in Turkey), codenamed Haji and stationed in Syria's Manbij, ordered her to move to Idlib, then to Turkey, and wait for instructions to execute the operation.

Russian troops are in control of downtown Soledar, the private military company Wagner has claimed, posting a video filmed outside the town's administration building on Tuesday afternoon. The salt-mining town is a crucial link in Ukraine's Donbass fortifications and commands the northern approach to the strategic hub of Bakhmut.

The video making rounds on social media shows two members of the PMC, which has been storming the town block-by-block over the past several weeks, outside the battle-scarred building.

"We are at the center of town right now, outside the administration building," the soldiers say. "PMC Wagner is carrying out the mission, clearing the town."

US flights disrupted after FAA alert system outage, cause remains unknown

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) system that alerts pilots and other flight personnel about hazards or any changes to airport facility services and relevant procedures was not processing updated information, the civil aviation regulator's website showed on Wednesday.

In an advisory, the FAA said its Notam (Notice to Air Missions) system had "failed". There was no immediate estimate for when it would be back, the website showed, though Notams issued before the outage were still viewable.

More than 400 flights were delayed within, into, or out of the US as of Wednesday 5.31am ET, flight tracking website FlightAware showed. It was not immediately clear if the outage was a factor.

The veteran Russian engineer and leading missile scientist Pavel Kamnev has died.

Russia's top military rocket scientist, Pavel Kamnev, has died at the age of 86, the country's leading missile builder Almaz-Antey Corporation announced on Monday.

Born in 1937 in the Caspian city of Makhachkala, Kamnev had worked in Russia's aircraft industry since the 1960s. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, he headed the Novator Design Bureau, where he was tasked with creating new missiles for the country's military.

The engineer continued to work in the industry despite his advanced age, chairing Novator's board of directors and serving as the lead scientist of the bureau's parent company, the Almaz-Antey Corporation, at the time of his death.

Net zero will lead to the end of modern civilisation, says top scientist

Wind turbine
A damning indictment of the Net Zero political project has been made by one of the world's leading nuclear physicists. In a recently published science paper, Dr. Wallace Manheimer said it would be the end of modern civilisation. Writing about wind and solar power he argued it would be especially tragic "when not only will this new infrastructure fail, but will cost trillions, trash large portions of the environment, and be entirely unnecessary". The stakes, he added, "are enormous".

Dr. Manheimer holds a physics PhD from MIT and has had a 50-year career in nuclear research, including work at the Plasma Physics Division at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. He has published over 150 science papers. In his view, there is "certainly no scientific basis" for expecting a climate crisis from too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere in the next century or so. He argues that there is no reason why civilisation cannot advance using both fossil fuel power and nuclear power, gradually shifting to more nuclear power.

Comment: They know that we know, but because they own the "media" and the "science", they are free to push their agenda unquestioned. Restricting energy to a civilization, by raising the price, means that a majority of the population will be unable to access it. That will give them even more control over our lives.

Which is what it's all about: power and control. They don't care for anything else. They are so blinded by their wishful thinking that they can't see that the end of civilization as we know it, will also mean their end.

It's like a parasite killing its host even though it means its own destruction.
