The Martens family was going through severe persecution in the "genderless and infertile West". So they made the best decision that any Christian family could possibly make.

The family are part of a wave of Russian ethnic Germans who emigrated to Germany under a program begun in the 1980s.

Comment: With pretty much all of the western world rotting with hyper-sexualization and more gender pronouns than one can shake a stick at, it's no wonder that people are emigrating to the east.

Chairman of Americans for Peace Now says Israeli Jews will never accept Palestinians as equals

Jim Klutznick, the chairman of the liberal Zionist group Americans for Peace Now (and a political player in Chicago and an early Obama supporter), yesterday dismissed the idea of a one-state outcome in Israel and Palestine because Israelis will never accept Palestinians as equals.

Klutznick responded to Palestinian pollster Khalil Shikaki, who said during a Peace Now podcast, that the "major driver" for Palestinian youth today is "democracy and equal rights," not what has driven Palestinian politics for the last 50 years, the desire for sovereignty. Shikaki said these young Palestinians see a Palestinian state as a), a delusion, and b), just another "corrupt inefficient authoritarian state," so they dream of equal rights with Jews in one state.

Klutznick dismissed the idea:
You brought up the word democracy. And I just wanted to make this observation... particularly as it relates to your youth who are interested in civil rights and democracy. It seems to me that democracy is the common thread between either of these two versions. The difference is that you will not get civil rights under one state. And the only answer here is an independent and sovereign state for the Palestinian people where democracy will have a chance to flourish within the context of Palestinian democracy. Because I don't believe it will ever happen in one state, with Israel never allowing there to be civil rights for everybody and an equal vote.

The question should be rephrased to whether there's such a thing as a "shithole" period, and yes, there is, but the stereotypical "Third World" socio-economic and physical conditions that the word often embodies are also widely present in parts of the US.

Another day, another Trump controversy, and this time it's the Mainstream Media going bonkers because of the President supposedly referring to some countries as "shitholes" and questioning why the government has allowed so many of their people to immigrate to America. Knowing Trump's personality and speaking style, it's believable that he did in fact say this, though what's less believable is the insincere virtue signaling that's sprung up all over social media ever since.

Flat-Earther gets rocket launch approval from US government and new lift off date

Flat-Earther 'Mad' Mike Hughes has set a new date to launch himself into orbit in a homemade rocket after his previous attempt was thwarted by a US federal agency.

The rocket jump is intended to promote Hughes' much more ambitious venture of traveling to the edge of space in a bid to prove the Earth is actually flat.

The limousine driver and self described daredevil revealed on his Facebook page that he will carry out the vertical rocket launch on February 3 from the originally intended location of Amboy, California.


Comment: Hard to tell if Hughes is sincere about believing in - and trying to prove that - a flat Earth exists. Or, if he's just using this cockamamie theory to promote himself and have a bit of fun.

Chinese authorities have demolished a well-known Christian megachurch, inflaming long-standing tensions between religious groups and the Communist Party.

Witnesses and overseas activists said the paramilitary People's Armed Police used dynamite and excavators to destroy the Golden Lampstand Church, which has a congregation of more than 50,000, in the city of Linfen in Shaanxi province.

ChinaAid, a US-based Christian advocacy group, said local authorities planted explosives in an underground worship hall to demolish the building following, constructed with nearly $2.6m (£1.9m) in contributions from local worshippers in one of China's poorest regions.

The church had faced "repeated persecution" by the Chinese government, said ChinaAid. Hundreds of police and hired thugs smashed the building and seized Bibles in an earlier crackdown in 2009 that ended with the arrest of church leaders.

"The local housing department stopped the building of the church, named Jindengtai Christian Church, in 2009, when the church was almost finished, as the land owner did not apply for the necessary approval," he said. The church was rarely used, the official said.

Religious groups above county-level must register churches with their local civil affairs bureaus, according to a regulation on the registration of religious groups in China.
Given that the demolition brought out 100 protesters, there may be some truth to the claim that the church wasn't even that popular. 100 protesters out of an alleged congregation of 50,000?

When liberals know they do not have a real argument to give on an issue, they overcome that gap in logic by tacking the suffix "phobia" on a word and turning it into an insult. If you want America to control her borders, you have xenophobia. If you believe traditional marriage is the foundation of society, you have homophobia. If you want America to use common sense to combat terrorism, you have islamophobia. Like the trigger words racist and sexist, these "phobias" do not create a dialogue. Rather, their only purpose is to shut down any chance of a real dialogue. However, Phyllis Schlafly was clever enough to turn their own talking points around. In that spirit, the June 2008 Phyllis Schlafly Report created the term "fatherphobia" to describe inordinate aversion to fatherhood by feminists.

One of the biggest attacks on the family today is the near-omnipotent power of family courts. When divorce cases come up, judges have unilateral authority to place a child with only one parent and to exact large child support payments from the other parent. The biggest problem with this arrangement is that so many of these judges are afflicted with "fatherphobia," which is the presumption that fathers are not important in the life of their children. So often, these family courts will ignore almost any attempt at equal shared custody. If the presumption of equal shared custody were adopted over the assumption of single-parent custody (for the mother) and the other parent making payments but getting little or no visitation rights (for the father,) the child would win in almost every situation.

French media: It's "beautiful" to be invaded by migrants

Sicily has borne much of the brunt of the large wave of migrants coming into Italy. But despite this, the mayor of Palermo has declared his love for migrants saying that the future of Italy is "Google and Ali the immigrant".

Mayor of Palermo Leoluca Orlando declared his love for newly arrived migrants from Africa, most of them coming into the country illegally claiming to be asylum seekers, in a largely pro-migrant article published by French centre-left newspaper Libération.

"If you ask me how many immigrants there are in Palermo, I do not answer 60, 70, or 80,000. Anyone who arrives in Palermo is a Palermo," Orlando said.

"The future has two names: Google and Ali the immigrant. Google expresses the virtual connection and Palermo is today the best wired and computerised city in the entire Mediterranean. Ali the migrant represents the human connection. We want to be a welcoming and modern city," he added.

Around a million people have arrived in Italy in the last three years from Africa. Although the number arriving has considerably declined after the Italian government enacted stricter rules of conduct on pro-migrant NGO ships, many migrants remain in Italy.

Comment: Try as they might, this kind of propaganda on the part of the European establishment will do little to convince Europeans that opening the gates to uncontrolled immigration is a good thing. Optimistic words cannot prevent the culture clash that comes with millions of migrants.

Drug users shouldn't be labelled "junkies" or "addicts," George Soros' Global Commission on Drug Policy has said, amid complaints that drug users are stigmatized. Instead, they should be called a "person who uses drugs."

The commission, backed by Virgin tycoon Richard Branson and former Liberal Democrats leader Nick Clegg, says drug users are victims of discrimination. It called for an end to negative language around their habits, to ensure that their human rights are respected.

Two thirds of Russians believe their country has enemies in the international arena, with the US, Ukraine and the EU topping the list, a fresh survey by independent pollster Levada Center has revealed.

According to research conducted in early December, 66 percent of respondents considered that Russia has enemies, while 21 percent believed that the country exists in a peaceful international environment. Levada Center has been carrying out similar surveys for the last 23 years. The highest result in response to this question was recorded at the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict in 2014, when 84 percent of those surveyed said that Russia had enemies.

When asked to specifically name Russia's foreign enemies, the majority of respondents - 68 percent - singled out the US, which is no surprise as relations between Moscow and Washington are at their lowest in decades over accusations of election meddling, the imposition of sanctions, and other issues.

Second-placed Ukraine was far behind the US on the enemy list on 29 percent, followed by the European Union on 14 percent. Poland, the Baltic states and other former Soviet republics, Germany and the UK were also among the answers.

Comment: Russians seem very clued in. The U.S. and NATO are bigger threats than ISIS.

Chelsea Clinton really stepped in it Thursday when she tore into President Trump after news organizations said the president asked senators why the U.S. keeps bringing in migrants from "sh-hole" countries like Haiti, El Salvador and African nations.

President Trump has denied using the term, though he did admit he used "tough" language in the meeting.

In her response to a Bloomberg headline, Chelsea tweeted to Trump Thursday: "Mr. President, immigrants from El Salvador, Haiti and 54 countries in Africa likely helped build your buildings. They've certainly helped build our country. cc @POTUS."
