Police disgusted with government overreach against the Freedom Convoy

Although some truckers and Freedom Convoy supporters may see police as an obstacle to their free speech, as the government has weaponized the police against the freedom protest in Ottawa, many police officers are not on board with the government's authoritarian agenda.

A week ago had sources inside the Ottawa police informed The National Telegraph that a Staff Sergeant had resigned likely due to the aggressive tactics the municipal government wanted them to employ against peaceful protesters.

Not long after Ottawa Police Chief Peter Sloly resigned, with the implication that he too did not want to be involved in the crackdown against protesters seeking to negotiate with the federal government.

Today the former Waterloo Police Chief Matt Torigian who was appointed as the interim Ottawa Police Chief to replaced Sloly resigned having only been on the job for two days.

Bill Gates says Omicron 'sadly' spreads immunity faster than vaccines

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said the Covid-19 Omicron variant had outpaced world vaccine drives in spreading immunity, urging health officials around the globe to respond more quickly to the next pandemic.

Asked about the world's progress in "beating Covid-19" during a panel at the 2022 Munich Security Conference on Friday, the tech magnate and philanthropist credited the coronavirus itself for immunizing populations naturally in some regions.

"Sadly, the virus itself - particularly the variant called Omicron - is a type of vaccine. That is, it creates both B-cell and T-cell immunity, and it's done a better job of getting out to the world population than we have with vaccines," he said.

Due to a large amount of "infection exposure" in certain regions, the risk of serious illness from Covid-19 has been "dramatically reduced," Gates continued, also noting that severe symptoms are "mainly associated with being elderly and having obesity or diabetes."

Comment: Sadly, Bill Gates won't get to profit as much from vaccines thanks to Omicron. Boo-hoo.

No, there is a limit to the tyrant's power!
When the oppressed man finds no justice,
When the burden grows unbearable, he appeals
With fearless heart to Heaven,
And thence brings down his everlasting rights,
Which there abide, inalienably his,
And indestructible as stars themselves.

-Friedrich Schiller, Wilhelm Tell's Rutli Oath
Who would have thought that Canada would ever be a spark plug for a freedom movement against tyranny?

As the editor of a Canadian geopolitical magazine for over 10 years and author of four books on Canadian History, I am a bit embarrassed to say that I certainly didn't think that Canadians had this in them.

The "monarchy of the north" certainly isn't something that exudes revolutionary sentiment- having been founded on such non-revolutionary principles as "Peace, Order and Good Governance" which have stood in stark contrast to the significantly more inspiring "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" enshrined in the founding documents of our southern cousins. Even our founding 1867 document (drafted over a champagne fueled month of hedonism in 1864) explicitly calls out the purpose of confederation not as a means of "supporting the general welfare" as was the case of the USA's constitution in 1787, but rather "to promote the interests of the British Empire".

But here it is.

Lawsuit claims Michigan election chief illegally accepted Zuckerberg money to swing 2020 election

A lawsuit filed against Democrat Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson asserts she illegally accepted private money for the 2020 presidential election to swing the election for President Joe Biden.

The Chicago-based Thomas More Society filed the lawsuit in the Michigan Court of Claims, alleging Benson violated election law by spending private election funding on partisan purposes that denied Michigan voters' constitutional equal access voting rights.

The Center Square previously reported Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan contributed $400 million nationwide into the 2020 election through their Chicago-based nonprofit, the Center for Technology and Civic Life (CTCL).

The 166-page filing claims that nearly half of CTCL's funds flowed to Democrat-dominated areas where Biden won. For example, the lawsuit says CTCL made 19 payments exceeding $100,000 all to jurisdictions that Biden carried in 2020.

Israel scrapping Covid vaccine 'green pass'

The Israeli prime minister cited a drop in coronavirus infections as reason to do away with restrictions.

Israel will soon end its Covid-19 'green pass' system, doing away with the vaccine card as officials point to a significant decline in severe cases and an end to the Omicron surge.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced the move on Thursday, declaring that "the wave of the Omicron has broken" and that there is now a "sharp drop" in the number of serious infections. He said in a statement:
"Earlier today I had a discussion with the Minister of Health and other officials. We will stop using the green pass. Additional measures would be relaxed 'in the coming days.'
In effect for much of the past year, the pass system required Israelis to show proof of vaccination in order to enter a long list of indoor public spaces, including bars, hotels, restaurants, gyms and even places of worship.

During a meeting on the future of Israel's pandemic response held earlier on Thursday, Bennett called for a gradual easing of restrictions, reiterating that the coronavirus omicron variant had reached its peak in the country. While the green pass will be phased out entirely by March 1, those entering nursing homes and other high-risk facilities will still be required to test negative for the virus, according to the Jerusalem Post.

Comment: This likely means Israel has another plan in place, or it already has the digital information they require. Placate the public and then move the bar.

City of Ottawa threatens the lives of freedom protesters' pets

The city of Ottawa issued a tweet aimed at the Freedom Convoy protestors, threatening to confiscate their pets on top of all the other measures aimed at them.

The notice put up on the official Twitter account reads: "Attention animal owners at demonstration If you are unable to care for your animal as a result of enforcement actions, your animal will placed into protective care for 8 days, at your cost. After 8 days, if arrangements are not made, your animal will be considered relinquished."

To be clear, the text "your animal will be considered relinquished" means in no uncertain terms that the animals will be put into the city's animal shelter system.

This did not go unnoticed in the response tweets to the original notice. "What happens after the animals are 'relinquished'? You put them down?" read one reply tweet by journalist Chris Tomlinson:

Comment: Lowering the boom, Ottawa is resorting to theft and blackmail rather than negotiate. Trust your pet to the pound? See what can happen:

According to The New York Times:
Tension built throughout the day as the authorities issued a stream of warnings, saying that once they move in to clear the streets of the capital city, the protesters face arrest, seizure of their vehicles, loss of any pets in their trucks and cars, revocation of their drivers' licenses, fines — and up to five years in prison if they bring children to an unlawful demonstration.
From The Countersignal:
Position statements issued by the Ottawa Humane Society reveal that they may unilaterally euthanize any animal that they deem to be "not suitable for adoption." Arbitrary behavioral and health tests would be used to make the call.

These decisions about the life of a trucker's pet would, thus, be made without their consent or knowledge while they are imprisoned for indefinite periods of time via the Emergency Powers of the Trudeau regime.

What is true at every shelter is that when you surrender a dog, what happens to him is completely out of your hands.

It isn't clear what length of time Convoy supporters may face if arrested for peacefully protesting, but the government has been clear that it could be up to one year in prison, in addition to a possible $100,000 fine.

This move, while despicable, should come as no surprise, as authoritarian regimes often resort to such measures when under stress.

As it stands, all Canadians continue to be held hostage following Trudeau's invoking of the Emergencies Act, with Canadians' who happened to support the Convoy financially being threatened with the possible freezing of their bank account. Dogs are just the latest target for a government in shambles.

Man kicked off flight over comment written on his mask

Passenger confrontation

A man aboard an Allegiant Air flight was asked to deplane before take-off in recent days over a "message" he had written on his mask.

A video posted online by "Libs of Tik Tok" shows a flight attendant confronting the man with a request that he wear a different mask over "a comment that you've written on there," which in turn led him to inquire whether that was a violation of his rights.

The flight attendant responded by citing an "FAA regulation" as the reason for her demand.

Comment: Radogna's tweet was flagged 'for sensitive content' as he donned the airline mask, politely requested definition for the ejection (above tweet) and was ultimately forced to disembark:

Record 7 percent in US now identify as LGBT: Gallup

The percentage of U.S. adults who identify themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or another sexuality other than heterosexual has increased to a new high of 7.1 percent, a recent Gallup poll found.

The poll also found that 86.3 percent of respondents said they are straight or heterosexual, while 6.6 percent did not offer their orientation.

The newest measurement of LGBT identification is double the percentage it was in 2012, when Gallup first measured it. The percentage has been steadily increasing since the poll began, the survey giant noted.

Gallup added that the increase in individuals who identify with the LGBT community primarily reflects the higher prevalence of such identities among younger Americans.

Approximately 1 in 5 Generation Z Americans, born between 1997 and 2003, now identify as LGBT, almost double the number of millennials.

Comment: Some possibilities to ponder: 1) Gen Z is just gayer than other generations, perhaps with some sort of phenotypic selection phenomenon taking place, 2) Gen Z, as the first generation to be targeted from infancy by a deliberate ideological training program, is displaying the effects of mass hysteria - i.e., psychogenic illness. There's a reason entire peer groups of young women end up "identifying" as transgender, and it isn't because they all just happen to be in fact transgender.

US truckers organize stateside convoys set to protest COVID-19 'overreach'

A group of US trucker convoys — inspired by the weeks-long demonstrations north of the border — are joining protests against COVID-19 restrictions and mandates in several cities.

The Great American Patriot Project started the American Truckers Freedom Fund on Wednesday and urged truck drivers to join three convoys to Washington, DC, next month.

The political action committee said it was launching the motorcades in the first month of March. One would travel from California through the Southwest and Deep South to DC. Two others would originate in Ohio and end in the capital.

"I don't think that anybody wants to be told what to do," Erica Knight, GAPP spokeswoman, told Fox News. "They don't want to deal with these mandates and it's kind of a way to stand up for all the American people against it."

The initiative came as Canadian law enforcement was set to use emergency measures to disperse truck drivers from their occupation of central Ottawa, where they had paralyzed traffic in the capital since late January. Their "Freedom Convoy" compatriots had abandoned the last trucker blockade at the US border on Wednesday.
