Putin: Trump charges are 'political persecution'

The US is exposing the rotten nature of its political system to the world, the Russian president has said

The numerous criminal charges against former US President Donald Trump amount to persecution and showcase the "rot" in the American political system, Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated.

The US in its current state "cannot claim the right to teach others democracy," the Russian leader said on Tuesday during a panel discussion at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

"The things that are happening to Trump are persecution of a political competitor... That is what it is. And it is done in the full view of the US public and the entire world," he added.

Comment: When one is drowning in lies, such straight talk is almost shocking.

Death by a thousand Cuts: The many ways our rights have been usurped since 9/11

We the people
"We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution." — Abraham Lincoln
Those who gave us the Constitution and the Bill of Rights believed that the government exists at the behest of its citizens. It is there to protect, defend and even enhance our freedoms, not violate them.

Unfortunately, although the Bill of Rights was adopted as a means of protecting the people against government tyranny, in America today, the government does whatever it wants, freedom be damned.

In the 22 years since the USA Patriot Act — a massive 342-page wish list of expanded powers for the FBI and CIA — was rammed through Congress in the wake of the so-called 9/11 terror attacks, it has snowballed into the eradication of every vital safeguard against government overreach, corruption and abuse.

The Patriot Act drove a stake through the heart of the Bill of Rights, violating at least six of the ten original amendments — the First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Amendments — and possibly the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendments, as well.

Zelensky issues veiled threat to destabilize Europe if weapons flow curtailed

Zelensky

As predicted by a number of independent geopolitical commentators, including ourselves, the emerging official narrative on why Ukraine's counteroffensive ended in failure will be to falsely claim the West didn't provide "enough" weapons in a timely fashion. Despite the literally tens of billions of US taxpayer dollars sunk into Kiev's war effort at record-breaking pace and scale, it will be the "fault" of the United States and its allies — or at least this will be solidified as the Ukrainian government's perspective and narrative (and then will be parroted among Zelensky's most diehard hawkish supporters).

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has this week been busy advancing this as a key talking point, first telling CNN's Fareed Zakaria on Sunday his country "waited too long" to start counteroffensive. The reason? He blames the West for forcing his military leaders to wait so long for the necessary weaponry and equipment.

"We — look, we waited too long. It's true. No, I'm thankful to partners, to the United States, EU, other partners," Zelensky said. "I'm thankful very much to President Biden and to Congress, but we have to understand: We waited too long, they put mines."

World is 'laughing at' the US - Alaska governor

Deliberately restricting oil and gas drilling "makes absolutely no sense," Mike Dunleavy has told Fox News

The US government's decision to cancel oil and gas drilling licenses and forbid further drilling will "hobble" the country's economy and makes no sense except to advance the green agenda, Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy has declared.

President Joe Biden's administration on Wednesday canceled seven ten-year oil and gas drilling licenses granted to the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA) by former President Donald Trump. Biden's Department of the Interior followed up this decision by issuing a proposal to forbid future leases on more than 40% of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska.

Biden said that these two measures "will help preserve our Arctic lands and wildlife," adding on Saturday that he would "continue to take bold action to meet the urgency of the climate crisis and to protect our lands and waters for generations to come."

Speaking to Fox News on Thursday, Dunleavy said that "this makes absolutely no sense from any perspective unless your goal is to drive up the cost of oil and gas so much that it makes certain renewables cheaper."

Dunleavy, a Republican, claimed that Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, and Iran are "laughing" at Biden's energy policy.
"They're laughing together at the United States of America. I can't find anywhere in, really the history of nation-states or empires, where they worked at hobbling themselves to such a degree that's happening currently with this administration. So 2024 can't come soon enough for most of us."

Comment: Well now, WE aren't laughing! This is insanity even for place-holder Biden. The only 'field' that should be canceled is the rapidly shrinking one above his neck, his VP and entire advisory.

Biden officials 'likely violated First Amendment' in Big Tech COVID censorship efforts, appeals court affirms

Biden

The Biden administration likely infringed upon the First Amendment when it leaned on social media companies to remove false or misleading COVID-19 content, a federal court of appeals ruled Friday — narrowing a bombshell district court order that barred several officials and agencies from communicating with the platforms.

The White House, surgeon general, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the FBI "likely coerced or significantly encouraged social-media platforms to moderate content" and in doing so, "likely violated the First Amendment," the New Orleans-based Fifth US Circuit Court of Appeals determined.

The three-judge panel, however, adjusted the scope of US District Judge Terry Doughty's July 4 order, which had been temporarily stayed on July 14, removing officials from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the State Department from the injunction.

The appeals court called parts of Doughty's preliminary injunction "vague and broader than necessary."

Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio bombshell - names top Biden DOJ attorneys who told him to lie on Trump, sign false statements - here they are:

Enrique Tarrio: "They told me to LIE about President Trump in order to indict him. I told them to pound sand."

On Thursday The Gateway Pundit's Cara Castronuovo reported that Biden officials asked him to lie about President Trump in order to indict him!

Enrique Tarrio exclusively told the Gateway Pundit:
"They asked me to LIE about President Trump in order to indict him. I told them to pound sand, and because I refused to lie about President Trump it cost me twenty-two years of my life.

"The truth is, I could have been home. I could have been home a long time ago. I could be in my warm ass bed right now, laughing at the world, without a problem...and all I had to do in order to do that WAS LIE ABOUT TRUMP. All I had to do was confirm a lie."
Tarrio opened up to the Gateway Pundit after he was sentenced to decades in prison by the Dishonorable Judge Kelly on Tuesday. He told us that the prosecutors in the Department of Justice attempted to coerce him into signing a false statement that would implicate President Trump by swearing that "through several degrees of separation and connections, Tarrio had communicated with Trump regarding 'plans' for January 6th."

Moscow should suspend diplomatic relations with EU - Medvedev

Medvedev
© Sputnik/Alexey MaishevDmitry Medvedev Deputy head of Russia's Security Council
The bloc's restrictions on Russians bringing in personal items is "a spit in the face," the ex-president has said...

EU rules banning Russian nationals from bringing personal cars and smartphones into the bloc are downright insulting and degrading, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has insisted. He urged Moscow to suspend diplomatic relations with the bloc.

In a statement on Telegram on Monday, Medvedev, who is Deputy Chair of the Russian Security Council, mockingly praised what he described as "straightforward and honest Brussels bosses. Directly and without beating around the bush, they told all Russians: 'We see you as second-rate people.'" He went on to suggest that the sweeping restrictions were not a punishment for the government in Moscow, but rather "a real spit in the face of every single Russian citizen."

As for possible retaliation, Medvedev ruled out a symmetrical response to EU citizens. "Unlike many national leaders whose relatives worked in the [Nazi] SS, we are not racists," he said, adding that foreigners who visit Russia tend to love the country.

"It would be better to just temporarily suspend diplomatic relations with the EU. And bring diplomatic personnel back to our country," the ex-president suggested, arguing that such a move would make European leaders "fill their pants" because "embassies are evacuated before very specific events," and they would not know what to expect from Russia.

Comment: Sanctions cause extenuating issues:
The duration of a car's possible stay in the EU is "not relevant." The clarification came following a series of incidents in which German customs authorities were seen confiscating private Russian cars entering the country at least since July.

Moscow then accused Berlin of "stealing" vehicles and warned its citizens against bringing their cars into Germany. The German authorities justified their actions by citing sanctions imposed against Russia as early as in 2014 and expanded after Moscow launched its military operation in Ukraine in February 2022.

The clarification on Friday by the EU Commission went even further and said that not just cars but a wide range of other personal goods are subject to sanctions as well if they originate from Russia. When asked whether Russian nationals can temporarily bring personal goods and vehicles into the EU, including when traveling as tourists, Brussels said "no," adding that anything listed in Annex XXI to the EU regulation on sanctions against Russia is banned.

The Annex lists more than 180 categories of goods that, apart from private vehicles, include smartphones and any other phones, cameras, women's clothing, various types of bags, footwear, soap, perfumery, and even toilet paper.

NATO and EU nations first imposed sanctions on Moscow in 2014, when Crimea voted to leave Ukraine and become part of Russia in the wake of the Maidan coup in Kiev that year. Moscow has insisted that trade restrictions and the seizure of assets and other Russian property are illegal and tantamount to theft.

Someone was heard concluding the press conference while speaking over the president

President Biden's press conference abruptly ended on Sunday after a member of his team appeared to announce the end of questions while the president was still speaking to reporters.

The president delivered remarks in Hanoi, Vietnam following the G20 summit in New Delhi, India.

While the president was answering a question, someone was heard speaking over the president, saying, "thank you everybody," before ending the press conference.

The president also said thank you before he started wandering off-stage. CNN reported Sunday that White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was the one who ended the president's remarks.

The president took five questions from reporters and concluded by telling everyone that he was "going to bed."

Comment: Looks like Grandpa Earpiece's handlers are hyper-alert to the signs he's about to go off script. Referring to the Global South as the 'Third World' was bad enough, but it probably would have gone screamingly downhill from there. Best to bundle him off for nap time before he made things worse.

Clown World.

France accused of planning 'aggression' against Niger

The African country's military government says Paris is continuing to deploy forces to ECOWAS states

Paris is planning to intervene in Niger, as it continues to deploy troops to several countries in the region, the West African state's military government has claimed. Relations between Niger and former colonial power France have deteriorated since a coup in July.

"France continues to deploy its forces in several ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) countries as part of preparations for an aggression against Niger, which it is planning in collaboration with this community organization," Colonel Amadou Abdramane, spokesman for the government in Niamey, said in a statement broadcast on national television on Saturday, as quoted by AFP.

ECOWAS has threatened to intervene in the country to restore its ousted president Mohamed Bazoum to office. Top French officials have also stated several times that Paris would support military action by the bloc.

Comment: France is finally losing its grip on its African colonies. About time. Two centuries of exploitation is enough.

US stoops to conquer Global South with some Indian help

@ the G20 in Delhi
© Indian PunchlineFamily photo of the leaders of BRICS ‘troika’ (Brazil, India, South Africa) flanked by World Blank president Ajay Banga (L) and the US president Joe Biden (R) at the 18th G20 Summit, New Delhi, Sept 9, 2023.
The impact of the G20 Summit in New Delhi on September 9-10 is to be measured by the consensus reached regarding the conflict in Ukraine.

There is wide recognition of such an outcome as a remarkable feat that became possible largely due to a perceived climbdown by the US and the Western bloc. This is hugely consequential to international politics.

However, upon closer examination, a tantalizing question also arises: Does the Delhi Declaration's three sentences on Ukraine, which favor Russia's position on the conflict, signify a change in the Western approach to the hostilities and, specifically, give a certain nudge to Kiev to negotiate?

Indeed, we are witnessing a strange line-up: both Russia and the US have praised the G20 declaration, while Ukraine has complained "it was nothing to be proud of."

In the run-up to the Delhi summit as well as during the event, there was nothing of the Russia-bashing or contrived emotional outbursts by Western leaders that they are wont to. Even the EU's super bureaucrat, Ursula von der Leyen, was patience personified - as if on cue from Washington. The curious incident in the famous Sherlock Holmes story comes to mind: "The dog did nothing in the night-time."

In fact, the discernible trend had already set in during US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's atypical two-day visit to Kiev last Wednesday, and the briefing aboard Air Force One by White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan the very next day regarding President Joe Biden's forthcoming sojourn in Delhi for the G20.
