The Syrian conflict is profoundly misrepresented across the entirety of the Western press.

To call it a civil war is a gross mischaracterization. The entire conflict was engineered and fueled from beyond Syria's borders. And while there are a significant number of Syrians collaborating with this criminal conspiracy, the principle agents driving the conflict are foreigners. They include special interests in the United States, across the Atlantic in Europe, and regional players including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Israel.Syria is far from an isolated conflict. America's interest in dividing and destroying Syria is part of a much larger agenda serving its aspirations both in the region and globally. The division and destruction of Syria as a functioning, sovereign nation-state is admittedly meant to set the stage for the conquest of Iran next.

US End Game in Syria is Just the Beginning for Wider Regional War

Reuters recently published an op-ed titled, "Syria's one hope may be as dim as Bosnia's once was," which argues that the only way the US can cooperate with Russia regarding Syria is if all players agree to a weakened, fragmented Syria.

Comment: These shadowy 'elite' have been calling the shots for a long time. They have the money, the lawyers, the military, the politicians. And they are, if not all of them psychopaths, all psychopathic with these insanely intricate plans for 'full spectrum dominance'.

If it weren't for Putin weighing in on Syria they likely would have taken Assad out and moved forward, country after country, for the miserably ridiculous goal of having 'more control' over the world they destroyed.

Turkish president Erdogan is a duplicitous schmuck for sure, but he learned from the best: the USA.
The EU and Turkey have agreed on an "action plan" that might give Ankara up to €3 billion ($3.4bn) in aid, visa privileges and new talks on Turkey-EU membership in return for its help in stemming the flow of refugees to Europe.


Comment: This is a very interesting, if entirely anticipated, development. Two weeks ago, Euro Council President Donald Tusk, said at a European forum in Poland:
"For the first time in my political career I have heard politicians openly declaring that the refugees heading to Europe are their method of getting (us) to act a certain way"
Now Tusk reveals exactly who those "foreign politicians" are by offering the Turkish government a boat-load of cash and what the Turks have been demanding for almost 50 years: entry into the EU. Of course, the Turkish government is largely an ally of and, to a certain extent, beholden to the Washington elite, who are very content when Europe is 'destabilized' and therefore less able to defy Washington's dictates.


The EU summit in Brussels stretched into the early hours of Thursday, and seems to have achieved some results. While no final deal has been inked, EU leaders and Ankara have managed to agree an "action plan", European Council President Donald Tusk told reporters.

"Our intensified meetings with Turkish leaders ... in the last couple of weeks were devoted to one goal: stemming the migratory flows that go via Turkey to the EU. The action plan is a major step in this direction," said Tusk.

Growing numbers of Islamic State militants in Syria have become discontent with their command and deserted the ranks of the militant group amid the Russian anti-terror operation, Moscow's Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"The majority of armed gangs are demoralized. Discontent with field commanders is growing amid the fighters, and there are instances of disobeying orders," senior Russian General Andrey Kartapolov told a media briefing.

Cases of desertion among the jihadists are no longer isolated, with them now fleeing "en masse," the colonel general, who heads operations in the Russian general staff, added.

To monitor the situation in the area, drone reconnaissance has been intensified.

Since Russia launched airstrikes against Islamic State in Syria following a request by President Bashar Assad, around 530 strikes have been conducted by its Air Force. Hundreds of terrorists and dozens of command posts, depots and other IS infrastructure have been destroyed.

Much has been written about the revolving door between government service and the Washington, DC law firm of Covington and Burling. The recent return of former Attorney General Eric Holder to his previous position at Covington has sparked accusations and outrage among pundits.

Much of the focus of this outrage has been on Holder's failure to prosecute Wall Street miscreants, who happen to be clients of Covington. The law firm's client list includes Wells Fargo, Citigroup, Bank of America and J.P. Morgan Chase.

Poroshenko proposes English as Ukraine's second official language

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has proposed the establishment of two working languages ​​in Ukraine: alongside Ukrainian, the second "should rightly be English."

The perhaps not-so-surprising proposal was made at celebrations marking the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy's 400th anniversary, Ukrainian news agency UNIAN reported.

"Mohyla pioneered two working languages ​​- Ukrainian and English," Poroshenko said. "I think it would be very good if in Ukraine, and not just at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, there appeared a second working language. And this language should rightly be English."

In June Poroshenko announced that the mastery of English language should be priority for state politicians. As of October 1, knowledge of English became a prerequisite for employment in the administration of the president of Ukraine.

In his annual address to the Verkhovna Rada, Poroshenko also promised to announce 2016 as a year of learning English.

Child sex abuse inquiry testimonies 'accidentally (permanently) deleted'

Child sex abuse testimonies submitted by alleged victims through the government's official inquiry website set up by Home Secretary Theresa May have been permanently deleted due to a glitch, it has emerged.

All details submitted through the "share your experience" section on the Independent Inquiry into Child Sex Abuse (IICSA) website between September 14 and October 2 were "instantly and permanently deleted" before reaching staff.

The IICSA said the issue was due to a "change in our website address" and urged people to resubmit their information.

The inquiry into historic sex abuse was first launched last July following claims of a high-level cover-up of child abuse.

However, the probe has suffered a number of delays after its previous chairwomen Lady Butler-Sloss and Fiona Woolf resigned.

It is now being led by New Zealand Judge Lowell Goddard, who will receive a £482,000 (US$744,000) pay package in salary and allowances.

Earlier this week, we noted that Iran had reportedly sent "thousands" of troops to Syria in preparation for an offensive aimed at retaking the city of Aleppo.

With a population of more than 2 million, Aleppo was Syria's largest city prior to the war and it's now run by a hodgepodge of rebels and militants including al-Qaeda, the Free Syrian Army, and ISIS.

Russian warplanes in Syria have destroyed a total of 456 ISIL targets since the operation began on September 30, the Russian General Staff said Friday.

Over the past week, they have carried out 394 sorties, destroying 46 command and communication posts, 6 explosives manufacturing facilities, 22 warehouses and fuel depots, along with 272 militant positions, strongpoints and field camps.

Manufacturing a crisis: Poland to divide Europe over Russia-Germany Pipeline

An East-West rivalry over Russian natural gas pipelines could erupt in the European Union as Poland seeks allies against the expanded Russia-Germany energy route.

The Nord Stream 2 pipeline has ruffled feathers among Eastern European countries, which believe the new pipeline plans threaten to reduce their own financial resources and political clout.

One of the main issues appears to be that countries including Poland and Slovakia want Russia to foot the bill for Ukraine's post-coup crisis by covering transit fees for the Russia-EU gas pipeline going through the country. The Polish Institute of International Affairs, an influential Warsaw think tank, has suggested that Poland use the European Commission to stop the pipeline.

Bernie won all the online polls, but media pundits claim Hillary 'won' the debate - what gives?

Who "won" a debate is inherently subjective. The idea of winning a debate necessarily entails a goal to be achieved. What this goal is, therefore, says as much about the person judging its achievement as the goal itself. Pundits are ostensibly supposed to judge whether or not a candidate said what "the voters" want to hear. But what ends up happening, invariably, is they end up judging whether or not the candidate said what they think voters wanted to hear. This, after all, is why pundits exist, to act as a clergy class charged with interpreting people's own inscrutable opinions for them. The chasm between what the pundits saw and what the public saw was even bigger than usual last night.

Bernie Sanders by all objective measures "won" the debate. Hands down. I don't say this as a personal analysis of the debate; the very idea of "winning" a debate is silly to me. I say this because based on the only relatively objective metric we have, online polls and focus groups, he did win. And it's not even close.

Sanders won the CNN focus group, the Fusion focus group, and the Fox News focus group; in the latter, he even converted several Hillary supporters. He won the Slate online poll, CNN/Time online poll, 9News Colorado, The Street online poll, Fox5 poll, the conservative Drudge online poll and the liberal Daily Kos online poll. There wasn't, to this writer's knowledge, a poll he didn't win by at least an 18-point margin. But you wouldn't know this from reading the establishment press. The New York Times, the New Yorker, CNN, Politico, Slate, New York Magazine, and Vox all unanimously say Hillary Clinton cleaned house. What gives?

Comment: Unfortunately Bernie is allowed to participate so that the thin veneer of 'American Democracy' remains. The establishment pundits know this but can't say it directly. The comment about 'pretending there's a race' is actually quite spot on. The entire election cycle is a big game of let's play pretend. In reality national elections in American are decided by dollars and cents and whoever controls the voting machines.
