This article was first published in June 2016. Dilma's impeachment was ordered by Wall Street. It is important to reflect upon the actors behind Brazil's coup d'Etat and the insidious role of Michel Temer's finance minister Henrique Campos Meirelles.

Control over monetary policy and macro-economic reform was the ultimate objective of the Coup d'Etat. The key appointments from Wall Street's standpoint are the Central Bank, which dominates monetary policy as well as foreign exchange transactions, the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Brazil (Banco do Brasil).

On behalf of Wall Street and the "Washington consensus", the interim post coup "government" of Michel Temer has appointed a former Wall Street CEO (with U.S citizenship) to head the Ministry of Finance.

Henrique de Campos Meirelles, a former President of FleetBoston Financial's Global Banking (1999-2002) and former head of the Central Bank under Lula's presidency was appointed minister of finance on May 12.

Ilan Goldfajn [Goldfein] (right) appointed to head the Central Bank, was chief economist of Itaú, Brazil's largest private bank. Goldfajn [Goldfein] has close ties to both the IMF and the World Bank. He is a financial crony of Meirelles.

Brazil's currency system under the Real is heavily dollarised. Internal debt operations are conducive to a rising external debt. Wall Street is intent upon maintaining Brazil in a monetary straightjacket.

Since the government of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, Wall Street has exerted control over key economic appointments including the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Brazil and the Central Bank. Under the governments of Fernando Henrique Cardoso and Luis Ignacio da Silva (Lula), the appointment of the governor of the Central Bank was approved by Wall Street.

A Turkish prosecutor probing the financial links of the Fethullah Gülen movement has said the organizational structure of the group is the same as the Mormon Church and the Church of Scientology in the United States, claiming that all three groups were founded by U.S. intelligence.

The CIA organizes these sects as non-governmental organizations in order "to make changes to society," read the indictment prepared Zafer Dur, a prosecutor in the Aegean province of İzmir.

The system that the Gülenists have built over years up in the education, heath, political, technology and culture sectors aims at the same thing as these churches, Dur said.

He claimed that it would not be possible for a primary school graduate, 75-year-old Fethullah Gülen, who has been living in the U.S. since 1999, to have built up such a large organization and infiltrated vital state organizations through his own efforts and abilities.

Western media and thinktankdom have gone wildly off the rails regarding the Russian leader, blaming anything and everything on Vladimir Putin. The public has largely bought the raw propaganda wholesale and this is a tragedy for US-Russian relations.

A cursory glance at Putin's track record should convince even the most jaded Russian observer that he has done everything possible to build solid relations with the United States. Yet not only has the Obama administration refused to meet Putin halfway, it characterizes the Russian leader as the global arch villain bar none.

So here's a refresher course for anybody who's ever dragged Putin's name through the mud, serving up piping hot propa-garbage while helping to exasperate tensions between Russia and the US.

As Vladimir Nabokov once proclaimed before considering an entirely different subject, "Look at this tangle of thorns".

Comment: Putin and Russia are being demonized to further the Empire's geopolitical agenda of total hegemony. The Western media as lapdogs of the Empire will only print what they are told, so as to keep the American public primed for perpetual war.

Report claims US allowed for Iran to evade restrictions in nuclear agreement to meet deadline

The United States and its negotiating partners agreed "in secret" to allow Iran to evade some restrictions in last year's landmark nuclear agreement in order to meet the deadline for it to start getting relief from economic sanctions, according to a report reviewed by Reuters.

The report is to be published on Thursday by the Washington-based Institute for Science and International Security, said the think tank's president David Albright, a former U.N. weapons inspector and co-author of the report. It is based on information provided by several officials of governments involved in the negotiations, who Albright declined to identify.

Reuters could not independently verify the report's assertions. "The exemptions or loopholes are happening in secret, and it appears that they favor Iran," Albright said.


Comment: The timing of this report is certainly curious. Keep in mind that the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov recently visited Tehran and stated that unilateral US sanctions on Iran have stayed in place since the agreement and that this is effecting Iranian business with European and Asian business interests:
"These unilateral sanctions are a big hindrance," he said. "Any deal serviced in dollars goes through corresponding controlling agencies of the United States and can be suspended."
Seems like the US is countering the statement from Ryabkov by claiming they gave special privilege to Iran when negotiating the nuclear agreement. The reality is that the continuing sanctions against Iran are more detrimental to them than the benefits that the "special treatment" that the US says they gave them.


Among the exemptions were two that allowed Iran to exceed the deal's limits on how much low-enriched uranium (LEU) it can keep in its nuclear facilities, the report said. LEU can be purified into highly enriched, weapons-grade uranium.


Comment: How magnanimous of the US to "allow" Iran to exceed the deal's limits on keeping enriched uranium. This report comes across as purely propaganda to make the US look good, as though they have any right whatsoever to tell another country what to do in the first place.


The exemptions, the report said, were approved by the joint commission the deal created to oversee implementation of the accord. The commission is comprised of the United States and its negotiating partners -- called the P5+1 -- and Iran.

It is no secret that the mainstream media has decided that the threat presented by a possible Donald Trump presidency is so grave that it has suspended even the illusion of objectivity. Writing in The New York Times, media columnist Jim Rutenberg granted permission to his fellow journalists "to throw out the textbook American journalism has been using for the better part of the past half-century, if not longer, and approach it in a way you've never approached anything in your career."

The Observer and others have detailed the ways in which traditional media companies and even tech companies have colluded to maximize negative coverage of Trump and minimize negative coverage of his opponent, Hillary Clinton. But it doesn't end there. As Rutenberg described, many journalists feel the need to "move closer than you've ever been to being oppositional."

That opposition has extended into new and uncharted territory. In the coordinated effort to stop a dangerous candidate from obtaining, to use Rutenberg's breathless description of the stakes, "control of the United States nuclear codes," the mainstream media has taken not just to bashing Trump but to extracting a price even from those who support him.

Russia has created a new iron curtain by deploying its most advanced missile defense system across its border with NATO, in Crimea, and now Syria.

"Russia can use these systems to impede the ability of the U.S. to defend its NATO allies by disrupting the ability of US air forces to access conflict zones in the event of a crisis," The Institute for the Study of War noted Monday. The potential conflict zones include "the Baltic States, much of Ukraine and the Black Sea, northern Poland, Syria and parts of Turkey."

The list includes every major potential flashpoint between NATO and Russia, giving Russia a significant defensive advantage.

Islamic State group spokesman and top strategist Abu Mohamed al-Adnani has been killed in Syria, the group said, with both Washington and Moscow claiming credit.

Adnani was IS's propaganda chief, top recruiter and the reported mastermind of a string of IS-claimed attacks in the West.

In Washington, the Pentagon said US-led coalition forces had targeted Adnani in an air strike in Syria's Aleppo province on Tuesday but did not immediately confirm his death.

Russia's military said one of its air strikes had killed Adnani in a bombing raid Tuesday that left up to 40 IS jihadists dead -- a claim dismissed by US officials as "a joke".

China warns Theresa May to make 'wise strategic choices' over Hinkley Point nuclear deal ahead of G20 Summit

Beijing has warned Prime Minister Theresa May to consider Britain's relationship with China carefully after she suspended the construction of a new nuclear power plant by Chinese engineers over national security concerns.

May, who will visit China for the first time as PM later this week for the G20 summit, has angered Beijing with her decision to delay construction of the Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant.

China's ambassador to the UK published a prominent opinion piece in the state-run China Daily newspaper on Thursday, imploring the PM to make "wise strategic choices" concerning Britain's relationship with Beijing.

Liu Xiaoming did not explicitly mention Hinkley, but said "a number of steps need to be taken in order to maintain the momentum in the relationship" between Britain and China.

Europe's free trade deal with Canada may lead to a confrontation between Austria and fellow EU members due to similar problems the bloc is currently negotiating with the US, according to Chancellor Christian Kern.

"This will be difficult; this will be the next conflict in the EU that Austria will trigger... We must focus on making sure... we don't shift the power balance in favor of global enterprises," the chancellor said on Wednesday, as quoted by Reuters.

The deal with Canada, called the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), contains many of the same issues preventing the EU from signing a similar deal with the US.

"We will have to see where the weaknesses of CETA are. Many are the same as with the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP)," Kern added.

After the funeral of 9-year-old Angelina, whose death sparked the uprising of the villagers against the local Roma community, a citizen body, Azov, took control of the situation in Loschinovka. This was reported on the official website of the organization.

"At a meeting of the village council it was confirmed that the collective will not to allow any further abuse of the locals, and will not to allow the Roma to return to the village" according to the press release.

"Azov take responsibility for resolving the situation in every way possible.

According to the civic organization "Azov" in the Odessa region, the local law enforcement officers refused to fulfill their professional obligations. Therefore, their functions were assumed by the local self-defense under Azov leadership.
