Given all the known risks, before installing nuclear power where it doesn't naturally belong, one would have thought a 'watertight' safety mechanism should be invented and implemented.
Logic dictates that these nuclear power stations wouldn't normally pass any health and safety inspection in the UK, based purely on the knowledge that when they go wrong they are so destructive and the clean-up costs far outweigh any financial investment benefits. Then again it isn't the shareholders who pay for the clean-up, it's the insurers who should be vigilant and very worried.
