Deep State's smear campaign against Trump

The US Deep State coup against President-elect Trump has taken on a new twist, with salacious-dripping innuendo that Russian agents have "explosive" blackmail material on the billionaire property magnate.

Both the Russian government and Trump have rejected the claims as "fake news". And to discerning observers it is clear that Russia and Trump are most likely telling the truth.

What is going on here is a classic "dirty tricks" operation to smear the incoming president and to intimidate him into toeing the policy line of the unelected powerful rulers of the US - the Deep State.

The reported involvement of British intelligence operatives is also indicative of a "psychological op" given that the latter are past masters at forgery and slander.

Specifically, the powers-that-be want Trump to capitulate on his skepticism about their "intelligence" claims that Russia hacked the US presidential election in November. If Trump does not toe the line, then he is liable to be impeached as a "foreign agent" or have his character assassinated.

Or worse, taken out by "executive action" in the ignoble tradition of the CIA as seen over the decades with many other political leaders who stood in the way of the Deep State. John F Kennedy in 1963 shows that being an American citizen offers no protection.

In telltale fashion, anonymous US officials, citing anonymous intelligence agents, are leaking like a sieve to the reliably receptive corporate media "unverified reports" alleging that Russian spies have "compromising" personal information on Trump.

So ropey are the claims of Trump's alleged "perverted conduct" that it is hardly worth repeating them here. But it is important to note that the US media are giving these "unsubstantiated reports" of sexual exploits in a Moscow hotel wide coverage without any attempt to verify them.

The US intelligence claims have also been widely circulated among top Congressional lawmakers.

This is all suggestive of a deliberate, coordinated campaign to pollute the information space. In short, to smear Trump.

President Trump tweets he has 'no deals, no loans, no nothing' with Russia amidst new scandal

As Donald Trump's foes persist in claiming he has ties with Moscow, the president-elect has tweeted that he has "no deals, no loans, no nothing" with Russia on the heels of the publication of an unverified report alleging Moscow has supported him for years.

Trump tweeted on Wednesday morning that Russia "has never tried to use leverage over me. I have nothing to do with Russia - no deals, no loans, no nothing!"

The refutation comes in the wake of an unverified report published by BuzzFeed earlier on Wednesday which alleges that Russia has been "cultivating, supporting, and assisting" Trump for at least five years, and has compromising information on him.

Among the alleged dirt is a claim that Trump has "personal obsessions and sexual perversion," and that he once had Russian prostitutes urinate on each other in a hotel bed that the Obamas had previously shared.

The dossier also suggests that Russian officials offered Trump lucrative deals in order to win influence over him ahead of the election.

UK adoption of US drone assassination model 'shocking' but not a surprise

Britain will look to the US drone assassination model as it seeks to update its own rules of war, a move campaigners say is deeply concerning.

Sir Jeremy Wright QC, the government's senior lawyer, will give a speech on the law as it relates to targeted killing. Wright will speak at the International Institute for Strategic Studies on Wednesday.

The key issue which he is expected to address is that of 'imminence' - the circumstances required to legitimate a pre-emptive strike - and the potential for collateral damage - killing civilians - in order to 'save' lives elsewhere.

Comment: With more and more countries obtaining drone technology, there will be targeted killings outside war zones. This is not a good sign for humanity.

Don't believe anything that comes out of the intelligence community that is meant for the consumption of the American people - ex-CIA officer Kiriakou

The reluctance to release proof of alleged Russian hacking aimed at swaying the US election in Donald Trump's favor indicates it "doesn't exist," former CIA analyst John Kiriakou told RT, arguing that the Democratic Party's defeat should be pinned on Clinton.

Instead of collecting the "cold-hard facts and present those facts as evidence," US intelligence agencies went for a second option, handing over the matter to analysts "in the absence of facts," who then made "analytical conclusions based on the bits and pieces that they are able to collect," Kiriakou said, commenting on the recently-released ODNI report.

'Weapon of war': Rebels clash with government at Damascus water source as people face severe shortages

Over 5 million civilians are struggling to obtain the most basic of necessities in and around Damascus amid the escalated fighting between the Syrian army and the rebels for control over a valley with the main regional water source.

Residents of Damascus rely heavily on water from the Barada River. However, that water supply was cut in late December by the Damascus Water Authority, which said the source was contaminated with diesel fuel by militants.

That cut has remained into the New Year, leaving more than 5 million people in a dire situation.

NATO ally Turkey continues accusation US supports ISIS

why ISIS
© Bloomberg...and more where that came from!
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has repeatedly accused its NATO ally, the United States, of supporting the Islamic State. The Turkish president said on Dec. 27 that the U.S. gives support to terrorist groups including the Islamic State. "It's very clear. We have confirmed evidence, with pictures, photos and videos," the Turkish president added.

State Department spokesman Mark Toner responded to these remarks that day by calling them "ludicrous." "No basis for truth, as you can all imagine. I don't think anyone could look at our actions on the ground leading the coalition in northern Syria, in Iraq and say anything other than that we're 100 percent behind the defeat, destruction of Daesh," Toner said, using another name for the Islamic State.

Turkish journalist Abdullah Bozkurt reported that Erdogan repeated this claim again Friday basing it off a distortion of an interview by retired Army Gen. Wesley Clark. Just a few days prior, Şamil Tayyar a lawmaker part of Erdogan's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) said that the CIA was behind the New Year's nightclub attack in Istanbul that ISIS took credit for.

Comment: ISIS takes credit for CIA terrorism. How convenient. Happen often?

A State Department official told The Daily Caller Monday: "We note with concern that Turkish media and Turkish officials have made incendiary and false accusations that the United States in some way facilitated this attack. These allegations are false, and the people spreading these allegations are distorting the truth. Such false stories threaten both the ties between our nations and the safety of our citizens."

Comment: It doesn't take a distortionista to see what has been evident for quite a while. The cradle of ISIS' decivilization is the US, UK and Israel.

Pack of lies: Demolishing the 35-page report alleging Trump's 'Russian cultivation'

CIA propaganda

As reported moments ago, CNN is leading with a story about a 35-page dossier compiled by a former member of British intelligence, which had been distilled into a 2-page appendix presented to Trump last Friday by the US intel community, and which contains "explosive, but unverified, allegations" that the Russian government has been "cultivating, supporting and assisting" President-elect Donald Trump for at least 5 years and "endorsed by Putin" gained compromising information about him, with the aim of "encouraging splits and divisions in the western alliance."

The memo has allegedly been circulating among elected officials, intelligence agents, and journalists for weeks.

However, where the first warning flags should go off, is that the operative collected the information from Russian intelligence sources while he was doing opposition research for a project financed by anti-Trump Republicans. The information the operative collected indicated that Russia had compromising information both Trump and Clinton but chose to release information that was potentially damaging only to the Clinton campaign.

Defying all reason and journalistic duty, BuzzFeed may have now topped the Washington Post in the quickly burgeoning Fake News market, publishing accusations President-elect Donald Trump has "deep ties to Russia" — but the astoundingly baseless claim seems to have unraveled in the most hilarious way possible.

British Foreign Office took weeks to correct false claims about Saudi war in Yemen, emails show

The British Foreign Office has been accused of breaking official ministerial rules by taking weeks to correct false claims it had assessed Saudi Arabia's war in Yemen for any breaches of international humanitarian law (IHL).

Ministers were told that four statements made in response to parliamentary questions had misled Parliament on whether the UK had made proper assessments of the Yemen war.

Despite their claims in June 2016, no such assessment had been carried out in Yemen by the UK.

Internal emails, whose content was forced out of the Foreign Office by the Information Commissioner - reportedly only the second time the power has been exercised - show there was a lag of 23 days between error and correction.

Trump considers Putin's approbation an asset, not a liability - first press conference since election

Trump Putin
US President-elect Donald Trump is holding his first news conference since the election. The event comes amid reports about Trump being influenced by Russia that he has denounced as 'fake news.'

Trump's Cabinet picks are undergoing confirmation hearings in the Senate. Former Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson, nominated to head the State Department, is running the gauntlet on Wednesday morning, similar to what Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions went through on Tuesday. In comparison, the lawmakers went easy on retired Marine General John Kelly, nominated to head Homeland Security.

Trump's spokesman Sean Spicer called BuzzFeed's report "outrageous" and "irresponsible."

BuzzFeed and CNN running the unsubstantiated report is "a sad and pathetic attempt to get clicks," Spicer said.

"This political witch-hunt by some in the media is based on flimsy reporting, and is shameful and disgraceful," he said.

Trump started his speech by thanking the news organizations that "looked at that nonsense that was released by maybe the intelligence agencies - which would be a tremendous blot on them. The thing like that should have never been written - and rejected it."

"A group of my opponents got together, sick people, and they got that crap together," Trump said.

He continued his speech focus on a wide range of issues from building factories to his inauguration.

Russian military reports US-led coalition 'acts secretively in Syria,' Americans often absent from hotline

After senior US Air Force officers accused Russian jets of flying dangerously close in Syria, Russia's Defense Ministry hit back. Moscow said US colleagues only reluctantly share plans for combat aircraft operations, and are acting secretively in Syria.

According to the US Air Force, Russian planes allegedly don't 'squawk' (carry transponders that send a four-digit number allowing air-traffic controllers to identify them), and fail to timely answer 'guard calls,' which are urgent summons on an emergency radio frequency.

"Rarely, if ever, do they respond verbally," Brig. Gen. Charles Corcoran, commander of the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing, who flies combat missions in a stealth fighter, told the Wall Street Journal on Monday.

"Rarely, if ever, do they move," he complained. "We get out of the way. We don't know what they can see or not see, and we don't want them running into one of us," Gen. Corcoran added.
