President Putin lambasted European leaders for their total lack of concern for the victims of the Odessa Massacre which took place three years ago today.

Standing next to Germany Chancellor Merkel, The Russian President reminded Merkel that,
"Ukrainian nationalists forced helpless people into the Trade Unions House and burned them alive.

The international community should never forget about this incident and never allow anything like it to happen in the future"
Angela Merkel's government helped draft the infamous 21 February agreement in 2014 which immediately led to an illegal coup against President Viktor Yanukovych. Her credibility on the wider Ukrainian problem is therefore deeply tarnished.

Part of the problem: Revolving door between Wall Street and the Fed exemplified by Federal Reserve Vice Chair

Federal Reserve Vice Chair Stanley Fischer's academic and policy credentials are hard to match. During his days at MIT's economics department, he was a teacher of teacher, lecturing to Ben Bernanke, the ex-Fed chairman, and Mario Draghi, the current European Central Bank president.

Still, like Draghi and Bernanke, both of whom have had stints in finance, Fischer is hardly a pure academic. He spent three years working on Wall Street, where he amassed a small fortune.

When he made financial disclosures required of his nomination to the Fed's board in 2014, Fischer revealed he had as much as $56.3 million in assets, making him one of the richest officials at the central bank.

Russian Defense Ministry has dismissed a report issued by western experts from the Human Rights Watch on the alleged use of a Soviet-era chemical bomb in Syria as a "fairy tale."

On Tuesday, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov slammed the allegations, pointing out that there has been no concrete evidence to support the claims that chemical weapons had been used during the attack.

"Today marks precisely one month since the incident in Syrian Khan Shaykhun, where chemical weapons were allegedly used. However, neither US representatives nor the UK and France that roared about the 'chemical attack' cannot present any concrete [evidence] to the public or the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. Only rumors and speculations based on social media data, which have been refuted by experts," the statement issued by Russia's Ministry of Defense said.

After a bipartisan group of Congressional lawmakers reached an agreement on a budget bill to fund the government through September 30, US President Donald Trump in a abrupt reversal now says the government "needs a good shutdown."

President Trump expressed frustration that passing a bill in Congress needs 60 votes in the Senate because of the filibuster, arguing it would be necessary to elect more Republicans or "change the rules now to 51%."

"Our country needs a good 'shutdown' in September to fix mess!" President Trump tweeted on Tuesday.

Bolivia's president Evo Morales explains how his country regained its sovereignty

Bolivia is one of the few countries left on Earth that has the cojones to tell it like it is.

We witnessed some much needed truth-telling last month when Bolivia's ambassador to the UN deconstructed Nikki Haley's word goo at the Security Council: "Now the United States believe that they are investigators, they are attorneys, judges and they are the executioners ... The unilateral actions are imperialistic actions. The USA is not interested in international law; they ignore it when it is inconvenient to them".

But this was just a warm-up lap.

During a speech last week marking the 10th anniversary of UN Declaration on Indigenous' rights, Bolivia's president Evo Morales warned that banks "control the world" and urged nations to reject US militarism and financial servitude.

Leaked emails show that the Belgian delegation was instructed in advance to vote for the appointment of Saudi Arabia to the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), and to make sure its support was known to the Saudis, UN Watch reports.

The leaked documents, cited by Belgian news network 7sur7 and UN Watch, reveal that Belgian diplomats had been instructed to follow "clean slate" procedures and provide "support to the candidates for the various positions during the secret vote."

Moreover, the cabinet of Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders wanted the delegation to seek the opportunity "to inform the various candidates, including Saudi Arabia" about its support, despite the vote being secret.

Venezuela's embattled president, Nicolas Maduro, said he is convening the Constituent Assembly in a bid to fight a "fascist" takeover. The opposition called the move a "coup" and a "scam," calling on supporters to take to the streets.

In an attempt to find a way out of the political turmoil which Venezuela has found itself in since last month, Maduro announced he was invoking provisions of the Venezuelan Constitution, which, he argued, enable him to call a vote for a new constituent assembly.
