An inspector general's report has accused the Biden-Harris Administration's Department of Homeland Security (DHS) of covering up a significant report regarding the Secret Service's response to the protest at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th.

As reported by the Daily Caller, Inspector General Joseph Cuffari, who was originally appointed by former President Donald Trump, has launched two investigations into the Secret Service's role during the peaceful protests on January 6th, 2021. As the Secret Service is under the jurisdiction of DHS, it is that agency which makes the final determination on which reports to release or withhold.

Jonathan Meyer, the current head lawyer for DHS, issued a statement denying Inspector General Cuffari's claims, saying that DHS will only redact "security sensitive" information, but otherwise will not prevent Congress from seeing any report they want to see.

Speaking to Politico, an anonymous source from within DHS said claimed that it is the inspector general who "has exclusive authority to determine when to release a report to Congress."

EU sets up Trump working group - FT

The EU has set up a dedicated team of officials to prepare for the potential return of Donald Trump as US president, the Financial Times has reported, citing sources.

The European Commission is seeking to assess the implications of possible policy changes that could ensue after the US election in November, especially on the issue of support for Ukraine, three people briefed on the matter told the outlet.

The team will also determine what impact a victory by the Democratic Party's presumed nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, could have on aid for Ukraine, FT writes. Brussels believes that Harris' policies "may not represent complete continuity" with those of current US President Joe Biden, it adds.

EU leaders have pledged to continue to provide military and financial support to Ukraine. Nearly €108 billion ($116.5 billion) has already been allocated to Kiev via the Solidarity with Ukraine fund since the start of Russia's military operation in February 2022.

The Biden administration has so far committed more than $55 billion in security assistance to Kiev.

Comment: Latest numbers for Biden's giveaway amount to over $55.4B plus a new approval of $1.7B by the Pentagon...and tomorrow?

Comment: Considering the US is literally broke, Trump scale-backs will only slow the leakage. Nothing, however, is going to erase a self-propelled gabillion-dollar deficit. Not one cent. Expect a run on ink and paper.

US escalates on behalf of mad dog Israel: Pentagon to deploy 'land-based' firepower and additional troops to counter Iranian threats

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has ordered more US troops, ships, fighter jets and "land-based" firepower to the Middle East to counter Iranian threats in the region, the Pentagon announced Friday.

The US military "posture adjustments" come as Israel gears up for a likely retaliatory strike from Iran and its proxies related to the recent assassinations of top Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah military commander Fuad Shukr.

"[S]ecretary Austin has ordered additional ballistic missile defense-capable cruisers and destroyers to the US European Command and US Central Command regions," Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said in a statement outlining the additional resources being sent to the region.

Comment: With US weapons stocks drained by Ukraine, and fuel reserves drained by the feckless Joe Biden, how long does Austin think the carrier groups can last? The Houthis have already forced them to leave the Red Sea because the logistics were to complicated and expensive. And this bit of lunacy will be different how?

Kamala Harris: The Soros candidate?

The Hungarian billionaire may have hit the jackpot with the presumptive Democrat nominee for the US presidential election.

The old joke that a 'color revolution' is impossible in the United States because there is no American embassy there no longer seems quite as funny. Especially from anyone who has followed American affairs closely in recent weeks.

We've had the sudden withdrawal of the incumbent president from the electoral race, hastily organized support for a replacement - who only a few weeks ago was considered an unlikely heir - and the murky story of an assassination attempt on the opposition candidate. Furthermore, as the icing on the cake, the name Soros, a constant presence in all 'color revolutions,' has been filling column inches again.

Shooting down Russian missiles an 'act of war' - Ritter

Vladimir Zelensky's demand is desperate and unrealistic, the former US Marine has said.

Vladimir Zelensky's idea to have Poland shoot down Russian missiles would directly involve NATO in the conflict with Moscow, former US Marine and UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter has said.

Ukraine's leader has asked his Western partners for a "defense shield" for months. He claimed to have finally received a commitment from Warsaw in early July, as part of a security pact. Poland has said it would not target Russian missiles without NATO approval, which the US-led bloc has yet to give.

Ritter told YouTube host Danny Haiphong in an interview posted on Tuesday:
"Zelensky is operating on the assumption that NATO can have Patriot missiles in Poland that can shoot down Russian missiles that are headed towards militarily sensitive targets in the vicinity of Lviv.

"He doesn't understand: that's an act of war. That's Russian military equipment, on a Russian military mission, in support of a Russian national security objective."
Shooting down those missiles, even locking on to them with radar, would make NATO "literally a party to the conflict," Ritter explained.

Trump or Harris, the US-enabled chaos in the Middle East will continue

Despite being portrayed as diametrical opposites in the media, neither of the presidential candidates can say no to Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to the United States has been labeled many things, yet most analysts have missed the fact that he has proven that whoever is in the White House, the West Asia strategy of the American government will remain on the same path to self-destruction. This is evidenced by the Washington's refusal to change course and accept compromise.

The US corporate media has attempted to portray Kamala Harris and Donald Trump as each other's polar opposites, yet the strategy adopted by both parties towards the Arab World and wider region is to pursue hegemony through an offensive alliance, relying on Israel as its spearhead.

Coronation: Kamala Harris gets enough delegates to secure Dem nomination — despite never winning a primary

Vice President Kamala Harris got enough delegate votes Friday in the virtual roll call process to become the official Democratic nominee.

The deadline for DNC delegates to turn in their electronic ballot is on Monday, but by Friday afternoon, Harris already had the majority of delegate support secured.

"I am so proud to confirm that Vice President Harris has earned more than a majority of votes from all convention delegates and will be the nominee of the Democratic Party following the close of voting on Monday," DNC chair Jaime Harrison said in a call.

Comment: Harris' ascent is "unprecedented" because it was the only way the Obama clan could shoehorn such an inept puppet into the slot. Harris could never win a nomination on her own. This is a woman who lost the 2020 Dem primary in her own state.

US senator introduces new bill calling for 'military force' against Iran

US Senator Lindsey Graham has introduced legislation that would authorize military action against Iran if Hezbollah attacks Israel, or if Washington determines Tehran is on the cusp of acquiring nuclear weapons.

Presented on Wednesday, the South Carolina Republican's first resolution states that the US should recognize a major Hezbollah attack on Israel as an attack by Iran, and keep "all options on the table, including military force," according to the Jerusalem Post.

The second resolution would authorize the US president to "use all necessary and appropriate force against the Islamic Republic of Iran" if the president determines that Iran "is in the process of possessing a nuclear weapon" or "possesses uranium enriched to weapons-grade level, possesses a nuclear warhead, or possesses a delivery vehicle capable of carrying a nuclear warhead."

Comment: Both resolutions are, intentionally, very vague.

Comment: Israel has been escalating its attacks but with such mild responses from the axis of resistance it seems that the West is now having to resort to even greater provocations.

Kamala Harris: Into the weird!

"What we are witnessing is nothing less than the failure of the greatest propaganda apparatus in history." — Mattias Desmet
Have you noticed yet? — the weird thing about Veep Kamala Harris is how weirdly brisk her transfiguration was from a sit-com character to Wonder Woman, overnight in the reality-optional news media. In a party burdened with complex ideology, she was known only for tautology: "The significance of the passage of time, right? The significance of the passage of time," she repeated solemnly on a tour of a Louisiana library in 2022. "So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time." Yes, ma'am. You nailed that ol' coonskin to the wall, all righty!

Suddenly her time has come! Everything is Kamala Kamala Kamala. Lights! Camera! Action! But, as you have already been informed, time does not stand still. If it did, then everything would happen at once, which would be a great inconvenience to all. In what seems like a magically extended moment since someone told "Joe Biden" to go dangle, Kamala acquired a lance and halo and rode forth to save our democracy.

Comment: Time to stock up on popcorn as the clown show rolls on. Whether or not any of Kunstler's projections come to pass, we're in for a rough ride in the foreseeable future.
