The West mocked BRICS for years but now it's paying attention

The idea of a multipolar world has long been used in two distinct contexts. One is when global hegemony is solid and unchallenged, as it was for the decade and a half following the Cold War. In that case, 'multipolarity' serves as little more than a slogan - a symbolic protest against US dominance, with no practical strategy behind it.

The other is when that hegemony has fully collapsed, and international relations revert to their historical norm: a fluid, unpredictable interplay of states with differing levels of power. Then, multipolarity becomes a fact, and actions are guided by immediate context.

Today's world fits neither condition. The old unipolar order is fading, but its structures and reflexes remain. That is why the current moment is so peculiar - and why BRICS has become such an important indicator of the transition underway. This group of nations, for all its diversity and contradictions, reflects the emerging outlines of a world less shaped by Western control.

Comment: The 'West' will wallow in its own misery instead of congratulating the transition underway and becoming a beneficial part of the future.

Trump ready to back new Russia sanctions bill - Politico

The legislation contains a 500% tariff on nations trading with Moscow...

US President Donald Trump is ready to sign a bill aimed at eliminating Russia's trade under certain conditions, Politico reported on Wednesday, citing a senior administration official.

If adopted, the "bone-crushing" legislation spearheaded by hawkish Senator Lindsey Graham would impose a 500% tariff on countries buying oil, gas, uranium, and other goods from Russia. Although the bill grants the president the power to exempt nations from the tariff for up to 180 days, Trump reportedly wants Congress to give him sole authority to decide on the sanctions.

"The administration is not going to be micromanaged by the Congress on the president's foreign policy. The bill needs a waiver authority that is complete," an official told Politico. The source added that otherwise, "conceptually there's an openness" to signing the legislation.

Graham said on Tuesday that the Senate would soon vote on the draft. "The Senate bill has a presidential waiver to give President Trump maximum leverage," he wrote on X. According to the New York Times, the vote could take place as soon as this month.

Comment: How to attack and manipulate an entire country from within without firing a shot? Financially.

Trump terrified by BRICS strategic threat

This is it. The ruling classes of the Empire of Chaos, plus the current, clownish Circus Ringmaster have finally realized that BRICS is a serious strategic threat - and existential challenge - to their unilateral domination of the current system of international relations.

They didn't come to this conclusion by carefully scrutinizing the BRICS annual summit in Rio - or last year's ground-breaking summit in Kazan for that matter: they are lousy at doing basic homework.

It's more like they were awakened from their torpor by feeling in their skins which way the - global - wind is blowing, in terms of all sorts of models being tested to bypass the U.S. dollar and the iron-clad control of the Bretton Woods institutions.

The conclusion was inescapable: BRICS have crossed the ultimate red line. No more Mr. Nice Guy talk shop. The 130-plus point Rio declaration, released at the first day of the summit, spells it out, politely but decisively: this is what we are, a systemic alternative; and we're going to write the rules of the new system our way.

Instigating Murder

The US Attack on Francesca Albanese is even worse than meets the eye.

Sometimes - or, actually, very often - the behavior of the West's ruling "elites" (if that is the word) is so obviously absurd and vicious that it's, literally, stunning. In the sense that it almost knocks out a sane and morally decent individual's capacity to fully grasp all aspects of any given new piece of depravity.

Instead, if you are still halfway normal in this West ruled by the clearly criminal and perverse, their frequent peak performances in depravity leave you with a dazed sense of "What just happened, again?" And once you recover from that shock, you can't entirely shake the eerie feeling that you'll never quite catch up with "their" constant and, again literally, limitless production of new evils.

None of the above is abstract. On the contrary, concrete examples abound. Recently, for instance, we have witnessed Israeli genocider-in-chief and fugitive under international law Benjamin Netanyahu publicly nominate genocide co-perpetrator Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Together with his gang, the same Donald Trump, also of course serving as president of the still single most powerful (alas!) rogue state on the planet, has attempted to simply wipe out the memory of the Epstein sex abuse (at least) and political blackmail scandal. Most likely - as in, we all know it - because he himself and many of his donors were ensnared in that Israeli operation of controlling the West's "elites" and depriving the West's populations of the last, miserable shreds of having a say in their own countries.

Meanwhile, in Britain, those who resist the Gaza Genocide perpetrated by Israel and the West together are brutally suppressed as "terrorists," while cabinet minister Lisa Nandy literally conspires with Israeli diplomats to make the already outrageously pro-Zionist BBC even more so.

And then, essentially at the same time, there has been America's massive and unambiguously criminal attack on the UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese. And that is, perhaps, the case displaying with greatest clarity that odd, stunning quality of the West's atrocities and outrages.

US sanctions Francesca Albanese, UN expert critical of Israel's war in Gaza

The United States said on Wednesday it was imposing sanctions on Francesca Albanese, the United Nations' special rapporteur on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, who has been very critical of U.S. ally Israel's war in Gaza.

"Today I am imposing sanctions on UN Human Rights Council Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese for her illegitimate and shameful efforts to prompt (International Criminal Court) action against U.S. and Israeli officials, companies, and executives," Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a statement.

In a post on X late on Wednesday, Albanese wrote that she stood "firmly and convincingly on the side of justice, as I have always done," without directly mentioning the U.S. sanctions. In a text message to Al Jazeera, she was quoted as dismissing the U.S. move as "mafia style intimidation techniques."

Flux Rules

We're trapped in a structure. We named the Structure 'Jeffrey Epstein'." — Eric Weinstein

No one in America — not even the most deranged, spike-faced, pink-haired transtifas — believes the latest Epstein story as played out by Mr. Trump and AG Bondi in this week's cabinet parlay: nuthin to see, just a bunch of pointless child porn, fuggeddabowdit. . .

But stay! Much is moving, flowing unseen. The world is yugely in flux, large events in human affairs are in motion, many things are breaking, rotating, dissolving and re-forming, while others wind into giant hairballs. . . so many players acting as though they live in one great hall of mirrors, and treachery abides at every turn. Nobody seems to be actually managing any of it, though there is plenty of pretense, jockeying, staging. The public's anger and anxiety rise in tandem.

One thing about Epstein is likely certain: it was an intel operation. And one thing is probable: it was a joint operation between the CIA, Israel's Mossad, and the UK's MI6. The object: to get as many political poohbahs on-the-hook for disgraceful behavior of the lowest kind and blackmail-able. Under the thumb. Theories and suppositions abound.

If Mr. Trump was in on the Epstein sex shenanigans, as Elon blurted this week, why did the Democratic Party not go after him for it in three election campaigns (and all the many months in between)? Well, not to put too fine a point on it, Elon appears to be losing his shit. His CEO at "X" bailed on him this week. His A-I app, Grok, started spouting Hitler gags, and his empire of world-beating genius is tottering on a broken business model.

You can write all that Elon stuff off as a sideshow for now — wildly grotesque as it may be. But what is actually going on in the three rings of this circus? Flux in the Middle East is one. Whatever else the "Twelve Day War" was about, it's the end of Israel threatening to bomb Iran's nuke program out of existence. We've done that favor for them, or pretended to, as some are saying, kabukied it out. So, Israel, shut up about that for now . . . is the policy.

Can Bibi convince Trump to finish the Iran job?

Don and Net

Can there be anything more repulsive if not comical than Benjamin Netanyahu nominating Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize?

Trump himself always complained that Obama got the esteemed prize for doing more or less nothing, while he aims to get one by being a genocidal maniac and wiping Palestine off the face of the earth, while also being dragged into WWIII with Iran. Or will he? The Iran question still remains aloof regardless of how many pundits are lining up the podcast circuit to say that it is inevitable that the U.S. will play a pivotal role in the second stage of Israel's Iran campaign. Bibi in the White House will of course be leaning on Trump now to "finish off the job" as Alastair Crooke recently put it during an interview. But how would phase II look?

There are a number of problems for the Israelis to go ahead with such a project leaving even more emphasis on the U.S. to play an even bigger role than the first time round. Of course both these men behind close doors might be slapping one another on the back over the Iran attacks, but the reality is far from rosy from a western perspective. The main objective for the initial attacks by Iran was to topple the regime. Not only did this happen, but in reality it was the opposite which transpired.

The IDF has shut out the UN, installing its own group to hand out food to the starving Palestinians...except it distributes death instead.

For nearly 630 days, the world has watched the Israeli slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza, primarily by bombing, sniping, and starvation. Off-camera, we've read about the rape and torture of Palestinian hostages, including the torturing to death of three doctors from the enclave.

For the last 100 days, Israel has reinforced a full blockade on Gaza, depriving starving Palestinians of food, drinking water, medicines, and fuel - meaning ambulances cannot function. This is following prior blockades last year, and the overall blockade of the strip, which has lasted over 17 years.

Since late May, we've been seeing horrific video footage of skeletal Palestinians lined up hoping for food aid being gunned down by US mercenaries and Israeli soldiers.

The endless dance: Fed judge blocks Trump's birthright citizenship ban for all infants, testing lower court powers

joseph laplant judge trump birthright citizenshp
President Donald Trump and U.S. District Judge Joseph LaPlante
Justice Department had planned to begin enforcing the landmark immigration policy as early as July 27

A federal judge in New Hampshire blocked President Donald Trump's executive order banning birthright citizenship and granted nationwide class certification status to all infants impacted by the order on Thursday.

U.S. District Judge Joseph LaPlante said he will issue a written ruling by the end of the day further explaining his decision. The injunction also narrows down the scope of the class to infants, removing parents from the case.

In his order, LaPlante ruled that deprivation of citizenship, as held by the 14th Amendment, and changes in long-standing policy would create "irreparable harm."

Comment: Opinion on social media:

Full text:

This is Joseph Normand LaPlante, a Bush-appointed district court judge with a severe case of TDS who wants to fill the country with as many illegals as possible.

Today LaPlante decided he can unilaterally overrule the Supreme Court's decision on nationwide injunctions. He took it upon himself to declare the children of illegal aliens part of a class action so he could once again block Trump's birthright citizenship order.

He's the same judge who issued a nationwide injunction against Trump's order barring asylum applications outside official ports of entry.

He's also the judge who attempted to block Trump's cancellation of TPS for Haitians.

It's time to arrest and deport this traitor to South Sudan.

Surge in Red Sea attacks after months of calm potentially signals revival of Houthis' campaign over Gaza war.

Six crew members have been rescued from a Liberian-flagged cargo ship in the Red Sea, according to a European Union naval force, after an attack claimed by Yemen's Houthi rebels.

The assault, which sank the Greek-owned vessel on Wednesday, also killed at least four sailors and left 15 others missing, the Reuters news agency reported, citing maritime officials.

The Houthis said the attack on the Eternity C had been conducted on Monday using an unmanned boat and missiles, and was carried out in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, to pressure the Israeli military to end its assault on the besieged enclave.

Comment: Houthis or Ansrallah as they prefer to be known, are stepping up for the Palestinians the way no other Arab state has.
