He's baack: Tony Blair in discussions to run transitional Gaza authority

Former UK Prime Minister Sir Tony Blair has been involved in discussions about leading a post-war transitional authority in Gaza, the BBC understands.

The proposal, which is said to have backing from the White House, would see Blair lead a governing authority supported by the UN and Gulf nations - before handing control back to Palestinians.

His office said he would not support any proposal that displaced the people of Gaza.

Sir Tony, who took the UK into the Iraq War in 2003, has been part of high-level planning talks with the US and other parties about the future of Gaza.

Comment: For some strange reason Blair is constantly involved with the Palestinian crises. Could it be because he won't accomplish much for the Palestinians?

Israeli Knesset advances bill to execute Palestinian prisoners who killed Jews

In yet another development which will certainly complicate current Trump administration efforts to find peace in Gaza, the National Security Committee in the Israeli Knesset is advancing a bill to impose the death penalty on Palestinian prisoners detained for killing Israelis.

Killings which are deemed motivated by "racism or hostility to the public" or aimed at harming the "State of Israel" or seeking to thwart the "revival of the Jewish people" would be a capital offensive, according to the legislation. Interestingly, the wording highlights Jewish citizens of Israel are the priority - and not for example Christian, Muslim, or Druze citizens.

It has unleashed immediate controversy both within and outside of Israel. For starters, some Israeli officials as well as families of Oct.7 victims fear that this puts the remaining hostages in Gaza at immediate risk. Notably, the bill does not apply the opposite direction - that is, it would not apply to Israelis who kill Palestinians.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coordinator for negotiations on the captives, Gal Hirsch, has gone on record as vehemently opposing the bill.

"It's not for nothing that we are asking not to hold this discussion. I completely disagree with your assessment of the situation, Minister [Itamar] Ben Gvir," he said in a communication protesting the initiative. "Especially when we are engaged in a combined military and diplomatic effort to bring back the hostages, this discussion does not help us."

Palestinian Authority backs Trump peace plan

Partnership with the US is essential for bringing stability to the region, a statement released on Tuesday has claimed.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) has said it welcomes US President Donald Trump's "sincere and determined efforts" to achieve peace in Gaza, after Trump unveiled his roadmap to stop the fighting between Israel and Hamas.

The 20-point plan, released by the White House during Trump's meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, calls for an immediate ceasefire and the exchange of all hostages held by Hamas for Palestinian prisoners in Israel. It envisions turning Gaza into a "deradicalized, terror-free zone" after the withdrawal of Israeli forces, with Hamas excluded from governing the enclave.

The Palestinian Authority, which governs the West Bank, said in a statement on Tuesday that it has confidence in Trump's ability to find a path toward peace in Gaza. Partnership with the US is essential in bringing stability to the region, it added.

Comment: Buyer Beware! There is a lot of hate riding on 'sudden peace'.

Trump says Israel can 'finish the job' in Gaza if Hamas rejects latest ceasefire plan

Donald Trump says Benjamin Netanyahu accepted the latest U.S.-backed "peace plan" in Gaza and threatened Hamas that if it rejects the proposal, Israel would have his "full backing to finish the job" of destroying the group.

President Donald Trump says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted the latest U.S.-backed "peace plan," which is ostensibly aimed at securing a ceasefire in Gaza.

Trump made the announcement during a joint press conference with Netanyahu, which followed a White House meeting between the two leaders. It's Netanyahu's fourth trip to Washington since Trump began his term in January.

During the meeting, Trump facilitated an Oval Office phone call between Netanyahu and Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, in which the Israeli leader apologized for the September 9 attack on Doha.

No surprise: Israel Paying US Social Media Influencers $7,000 Per Post As Right-Wing Support Craters

Following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's meeting in New York on Friday with a group of pro-Israel influencers, we learn that Israel is likely paying them a whopping $7,000 per pro-Israel social-media post in a desperate drive to bolster plummeting support of Israel among America's young conservatives.

That's the conclusion of Responsible Statecraft's Nick Cleveland-Stout, based on analysis of a disclosure filed with the US Department of Justice as required by the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). While pro-Israel lobbying heavyweight AIPAC is notoriously exempt from FARA registration, the social media operation comes under the transparency law's provisions because Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is paying for it.

Comment: The battle for our hearts and minds is heating up. Discernment will be a critical skill needed in these times.

Senators draft plan to limit hidden L-1 visa migration program

A bipartisan duo in the Senate has drafted an unprecedented bill to curb the little-known but huge L-1 visa program, which allows multinationals to import hundreds of thousands of white collar workers while paying them home country wages.

The L-1 reform is combined with a reform of the H-1B visa, which keeps roughly one million foreign white collar workers in the Fortune 500 jobs that are needed by skilled American graduates and innovative professionals.

"Congress created the H-1B and L-1 visa programs as limited pathways for businesses to acquire top talent when it can't be found at home," said a Monday statement from Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the Republican chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. He added:

Trump administration presses Supreme Court on executive order restricting birthright citizenship

Federal courts initially blocked order that could deny automatic citizenship to children born in US to illegal immigrants

The Trump administration in June filed a petition asking the U.S. Supreme Court to review President Trump's executive order restricting birthright citizenship, a move that could redefine a long-standing constitutional guarantee. That appeal has not yet been docketed, but justices are expected in coming weeks to decide whether to hear the case.

According to CNN, the filing by Solicitor General D. John Sauer argued that the prevailing interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment is "mistaken" and has had "destructive consequences." CNN reported Sauer wrote that lower-court rulings against the order improperly conferred "the privilege of American citizenship on hundreds of thousands of unqualified people."

At stake is whether the U.S. will continue to recognize nearly all children born on its soil as citizens, a principle the Supreme Court decided in "United States v. Wong Kim Ark" (1898).

Comment:
Insomnous posted a good explainer:
First, according to the statements and writings of the people who actually wrote the relevant part of the Constitution, the Constitution never had "birthright citizenship". That was a clear misinterpretation forced on us many decades ago by an incompetent Supreme Court. None of this involves getting rid of a Constitutionally provided power. It's removing from the government a power that it never properly had.

Second, it would work as it works with almost every other nation on Earth: citizenship would derive from parentage, and naturalization (there are a few exotic exceptions, but that's almost all of it).

These are, roughly, the criteria that are used by most nations, and would probably be used here:
1. If one of your parents was a legal American citizen at the time that you were conceived, or was naturalized by the time of your birth, then you have a claim to citizenship.

2. If you came to America legally, on the proper visa, and successfully completed the legal process to become a citizen, then you have a claim to citizenship.

3. Otherwise, you have no claim to citizenship.
That's it. That's more or less the way that almost every nation on Earth does it, and has done it for a long time.

For decades, America has had some of the broadest criteria on Earth for becoming a citizen, just as we've measurably (and measured, and the results of said measurements published in the peer-reviewed literature) had almost the highest level of "diversity", and the lowest level of racism, among nations.

Liberals have continually lied about that, because if Americans knew that, then most of said liberals' emotional appeals for liberal immigration policies, which are almost entirely dependent on invoking guilt in the listener, would fail. Which Americans would feel guilty about too little diversity, or too much racism, if they knew that America had long had more diversity, and less racism, than almost any other nation on Earth?
Or, as one Xitter user put it: "If your cow wanders into my field and drops a calf, does that make me responsible for its care and feeding for life?"

Boondoggle: European defense ministers agree to press on with 'drone wall' project

European defense ministers agreed on Friday to develop a "drone wall" along their borders with Russia and Ukraine to better detect, track and intercept drones violating Europe's airspace.

The decision comes after a spate of incidents in which Europe's borders and airports have been tested by rogue drones. Russia has been blamed for some of them but denies that anything was done on purpose or that it played a role.

"Russia is testing the EU and NATO, and our response must be firm, united and immediate," EU Defense Commissioner Andrius Kubilius said after chairing a virtual meeting of 10 countries on Europe's eastern flank. Ukrainian and NATO officials also took part in the talks.

Comment: The whole circus was set off by a pathetic attempt at a false-flag blaming Russia:

Then there were the drones over Denmark and other Scandinavian countries which the MSM tried to pin on Russia, though the Danes managed to hold to common sense and didn't blame them. Privately, they were probably terrified.

Current winners? The MIC, of course.

Exposing JFK airport's hidden arms pipeline to Israel

Shipping records obtained by Mondoweiss show New York's JFK Airport is a key transit hub for U.S. weapons parts headed to Israel's genocide in Gaza.

On July 16, 2025, a Boeing 747 operated by Challenge Airlines lifted off from JFK Airport in New York. The cargo manifest listed a 347-kilogram shipment from Lockheed Martin. Inside was a BRU-68 bomb release unit, a mechanism that allows an F-35 fighter jet to drop 2,000-pound bombs.

The flight's final stop was Nevatim Air Base in southern Israel, home to the F-35I fleet bombing Gaza.

This was not an isolated transfer. Internal shipping records shared by the Palestinian Youth Movement, and cross-referenced with public flight-tracking data, reveal a steady flow of U.S.-made weapons components moving from New York to Israel. Parts for fighter jets, missile launchers, and ammunition have routinely left JFK on commercial cargo flights while Israel's air campaign destroys homes, schools, and hospitals.

These shipments started before the current genocide, but have increased greatly since October 7, 2023. They continue now despite mounting evidence of war crimes and calls for an arms embargo. What they reveal is that New York City is a crucial logistical hub in the supply chain arming Israel's assault.

Trump can't rely on CIA - ex-national security advisor

Mike Flynn's idea of a White House intel unit has been backed by a Putin aide, who said the "deep state" is targeting the US leader.

The White House needs its own operations center to provide President Donald Trump with reliable intelligence, operating in parallel to the Pentagon and CIA, according to former US National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Speaking in an interview with Alex Jones on Saturday, the retired general argued that the president cannot fully trust the US intelligence community to avoid manipulating its reports.
"The CIA has a very robust operations center. You can see and do anything you want from there - certainly globally. And you [could] understand what's happening, if you had a CIA that was actually working on your behalf.

"What President Trump requires is an operations center that's working on his behalf and responding to every single thing happening around the world."
Flynn's proposal was endorsed by Kirill Dmitriev, an economic adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin involved in normalization talks with Washington.
