As it happened: Trump announces 'historic' peace deal for Israel's war on Gaza

Press conference at the White House in Washington DC • 29 September 2025
The US president positioned himself as a peacemaker who was going to bring a lasting peace to the Middle East.

US President Donald Trump announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted a proposal to end Israel's war on Gaza on Monday. Trump said the deal is still to be accepted by Hamas.

In a press briefing with the two leaders at the White House that began more than an hour late, Trump said: "We're at a minimum, very, very close. And I think we're beyond, very close" to securing the proposed ceasefire deal for Gaza, calling it "one of the greatest days in civilization".

Much of Trump's speech was peppered with his assertions that the achievement was a "historic first" and that allies had commended his administration's ability to reach a Middle East "peace" deal.

The US president added that there had been "extensive consultation with friends and partners across the region" and that the plan had the support of Arab and Muslim leaders and European allies.

He hailed it as a "new chapter of security, peace and prosperity for the entire region", and heaped praise on the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, Pakistan and Egypt, whom he had met with last week at the United Nations General Assembly.

Comment: The full text of the plan:
1. Gaza will be a deradicalised terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbours.

2. Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough.

3. If both sides agree to this proposal, the war will immediately end. Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed upon line to prepare for a hostage release. During this time, all military operations, including aerial and artillery bombardment, will be suspended, and battle lines will remain frozen until conditions are met for the complete staged withdrawal.

4. Within 72 hours of Israel publicly accepting this agreement, all hostages, alive and deceased, will be returned.

5. Once all hostages are released, Israel will release 250 life sentence prisoners plus 1,700 Gazans who were detained after October 7th 2023, including all women and children detained in that context. For every Israeli hostage whose remains are released, Israel will release the remains of 15 deceased Gazans.

6. Once all hostages are returned, Hamas members who commit to peaceful co-existence and to decommission their weapons will be given amnesty. Members of Hamas who wish to leave Gaza will be provided safe passage to receiving countries.

7. Upon acceptance of this agreement, full aid will be immediately sent into the Gaza Strip. At a minimum, aid quantities will be consistent with what was included in the January 19, 2025, agreement regarding humanitarian aid, including rehabilitation of infrastructure (water, electricity, sewage), rehabilitation of hospitals and bakeries, and entry of necessary equipment to remove rubble and open roads.

8. Entry of distribution and aid in the Gaza Strip will proceed without interference from the two parties through the United Nations and its agencies, and the Red Crescent, in addition to other international institutions not associated in any manner with either party. Opening the Rafah crossing in both directions will be subject to the same mechanism implemented under the January 19, 2025, agreement.

9. Gaza will be governed under the temporary transitional governance of a technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee, responsible for delivering the day-to-day running of public services and municipalities for the people in Gaza. This committee will be made up of qualified Palestinians and international experts, with oversight and supervision by a new international transitional body, the "Board of Peace," which will be headed and chaired by President Donald J Trump, with other members and heads of State to be announced, including Former Prime Minister Tony Blair. This body will set the framework and handle the funding for the redevelopment of Gaza until such time as the Palestinian Authority has completed its reform program, as outlined in various proposals, including President Trump's peace plan in 2020 and the Saudi-French proposal, and can securely and effectively take back control of Gaza. This body will call on best international standards to create modern and efficient governance that serves the people of Gaza and is conducive to attracting investment.

10. A Trump economic development plan to rebuild and energize Gaza will be created by convening a panel of experts who have helped birth some of the thriving modern miracle cities in the Middle East. Many thoughtful investment proposals and exciting development ideas have been crafted by well-meaning international groups, and will be considered to synthesize the security and governance frameworks to attract and facilitate these investments that will create jobs, opportunity, and hope for future Gaza.

11. A special economic zone will be established with preferred tariff and access rates to be negotiated with participating countries.

12. No one will be forced to leave Gaza, and those who wish to leave will be free to do so and free to return. We will encourage people to stay and offer them the opportunity to build a better Gaza.

13. Hamas and other factions agree to not have any role in the governance of Gaza, directly, indirectly, or in any form. All military, terror, and offensive infrastructure, including tunnels and weapon production facilities, will be destroyed and not rebuilt. There will be a process of demilitarization of Gaza under the supervision of independent monitors, which will include placing weapons permanently beyond use through an agreed process of decommissioning, and supported by an internationally funded buy back and reintegration program all verified by the independent monitors. New Gaza will be fully committed to building a prosperous economy and to peaceful coexistence with their neighbors.

14. A guarantee will be provided by regional partners to ensure that Hamas, and the factions, comply with their obligations and that New Gaza poses no threat to its neighbors or its people.

15. The United States will work with Arab and international partners to develop a temporary International Stabilization Force (ISF) to immediately deploy in Gaza. The ISF will train and provide support to vetted Palestinian police forces in Gaza, and will consult with Jordan and Egypt who have extensive experience in this field. This force will be the long-term internal security solution. The ISF will work with Israel and Egypt to help secure border areas, along with newly trained Palestinian police forces. It is critical to prevent munitions from entering Gaza and to facilitate the rapid and secure flow of goods to rebuild and revitalize Gaza. A deconfliction mechanism will be agreed upon by the parties.

16. Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza. As the ISF establishes control and stability, the [Israeli military] will withdraw based on standards, milestones, and timeframes linked to demilitarization that will be agreed upon between the [Israeli military], ISF, the guarantors, and the Unites States, with the objective of a secure Gaza that no longer poses a threat to Israel, Egypt, or its citizens. Practically, the [Israeli military] will progressively hand over the Gaza territory it occupies to the ISF according to an agreement they will make with the transitional authority until they are withdrawn completely from Gaza, save for a security perimeter presence that will remain until Gaza is properly secure from any resurgent terror threat.

17. In the event Hamas delays or rejects this proposal, the above, including the scaled-up aid operation, will proceed in the terror-free areas handed over from the [Israeli military] to the ISF.

18. An interfaith dialogue process will be established based on the values of tolerance and peaceful co-existence to try and change mindsets and narratives of Palestinians and Israelis by emphasizing the benefits that can be derived from peace.

19. While Gaza re-development advances and when the PA reform program is faithfully carried out, the conditions may finally be in place for a credible pathway to Palestinian self-determination and statehood, which we recognize as the aspiration of the Palestinian people.

20. The United States will establish a dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to agree on a political horizon for peaceful and prosperous co-existence.

Ecocide, Imperialism and Palestine Liberation

The devastation in Gaza is not just genocide but also ecocide - the intentional destruction of the ecology. Israel's assault shows how settler-colonial violence is tied to environmental harm, and why climate justice depends on Palestinian liberation.

At first glance, it may feel misplaced or even inappropriate to write about climate and ecological issues in the context of the ongoing genocide in Gaza. However, what is unfolding in Gaza is not merely genocide: it is also ecocide — or what some have described as a holocide: the deliberate annihilation of an entire social and ecological fabric. Gaza is strewn with more than 40 million tonnes of debris and hazardous material, much of it containing human remains. By early 2024, a significant portion of Gaza's farmland had already been decimated, with orchards, greenhouses, and vital crops wiped out by relentless bombardment. Olive groves and farms have been reduced to packed earth, and munitions and toxins contaminate soil and groundwater. Meanwhile, Gaza's seawater is choked with sewage and waste due to Israel's cutting off of electricity to power, and its destruction of, treatment plants.

Comprehending the ecological destruction taking place within Israel's genocide illuminates the critical intersections that exist between the climate/ecological crisis and the Palestinian liberation struggle. There can be no true global climate justice without Palestinian liberation, just as the fight for Palestinian freedom is inherently tied to the survival of the earth and humanity. What follows traces the deep entanglement between Israel's ecological devastation and its settler-colonial violence in Palestine, which has reached a peak in the current genocide. It shows how environmental harm has, from the start, been a core feature of Zionist colonial domination, used as a weapon of control and erasure. From there, the analysis moves through key terrains: the disproportionate climate vulnerabilities imposed on Palestinians, Israel's deployment of greenwashing and eco-normalization to mask its occupation and apartheid, the current ecocide in Gaza, and Israel's place within the global fossil capitalist order. The analysis ends with a focus on Palestinians' resistance through practices rooted in land, culture, and care — offering not just a rejection of domination but a vision of environmental justice that is anchored in liberation.

Comment: A masterpiece article - an education (with stunning artwork) - well worth the read.

"If you want a friend in DC, get a dog. We're coming for you."
— Dan Bongino, Deputy Director, FBI
You better believe Martha Stewart baked a cake last night — the lovely Gâteau Opéra perhaps? — when she got the news that the ham sandwich known as James Comey got indicted by a federal grand jury twenty-two years after that same ham sandwich indicted the goddess of hearth and home for lying to the FBI and the SEC over a trumped-up insider-trading rap, and sent her to federal prison for a five-month stretch plus five additional months of confined home-making and two years of supervised redecorating.

Mr. Comey's indictment is probably just the opening salvo in what will be a barrage of indictments coming down against government officials who used their powers-under-law to harass, disable, cancel, dis-bar, bankrupt, persecute and ruin thousands of their fellow citizens, including especially the 45th president and the people who worked for him.

Orban reveals what he told Trump about Russian oil

Cutting energy ties with Moscow would put Hungary's economy "on its knees," the country's prime minister has said.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban told US President Donald Trump in a recent phone call that his country's economy would plummet almost instantly if it stopped receiving Russian oil and gas.

Budapest continues to resist mounting pressure from Brussels and Washington to end its reliance on Russian energy, citing geographic and infrastructural constraints as well as national security interests.

In his regular interview on Friday, Orban said:
"If Hungary is cut off from Russian oil and natural gas, immediately, within a minute, Hungarian economic performance will drop by 4%. It means the Hungarian economy would be on its knees."
Asked whether Trump accepted his arguments during their phone call on Thursday, Orban replied:
"America has its arguments and interests, Hungary has its own. Our task is to express and represent them clearly. If we are friends, we listen to each other - and then everyone does what they think is right."

Comey indicted for alleged false statements, obstruction of congressional proceeding

James Comey
© Reuters/Jonathan ErnstFormer FBI Director James Comey is sworn in prior to testifying before a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing on Russia's alleged interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election on Capitol Hill in Washington June 8, 2017.
Former FBI Director James Comey was indicted by a grand jury on two counts, alleged false statements within jurisdiction of the legislative branch and obstruction of congressional proceeding, Fox News Digital has learned.

Comey will reportedly turn himself in on Friday and his arraignment is set for 10 a.m. on Oct. 9, in Alexandria Courtroom 600 before District Juge Michael S. Nachmanoff.

Fox News Digital exclusively reported in July that Comey was under criminal investigation by the FBI. The probe into Comey centered on whether he lied to Congress during his Sept. 30, 2020, testimony about his handling of the original Trump-Russia probe at the FBI, known inside the bureau as "Crossfire Hurricane."

Comment: This action only scratches the surface of a ponerized FBI.

Howard Rubin, ex-NYC financier with ties to George Soros, arrested for allegedly sex-trafficking women to 'sex dungeon' penthouse: feds

Retired NYC financier Howard Rubin

A retired Big Apple financier who worked for years at George Soros' investment firm allegedly "tortured" former Playboy models and other women in a Midtown penthouse-turned-BDSM "sex dungeon" for about a decade, federal prosecutors said.

Howard Rubin, 70, was busted by the feds at his Fairfield, Conn., home Friday morning on sex-trafficking charges for allegedly luring "dozens" of women to New York City between 2009 and 2019 — where he restrained, beat and electrocuted them, the Brooklyn US Attorney's Office said.

The famed former money manager - known as "Howie" or "H" and worth at least tens of millions of dollars - even appeared to revel in the stomach-turning encounters in text messages with his personal assistant, Jennifer Powers, who is also facing sex-trafficking charges tied to the scheme.

Best of the Web: Recognition of Palestine is a repeat of the West's Oslo 'peace' fraud

Britain's Keir Starmer is already pulling the rug from under his own grudging declaration. The only hope of change is of the unintended consequences variety

The reluctant recognition of Palestinian statehood by Britain, France, Australia, and Canada this week is a con - it is the same switch and bait that has been blocking the creation of a Palestinian state for three decades now.

Imagine that these four leading western countries had recognised Palestine not in late 2025, when Palestine is in the final stages of being eradicated, but in the late 1990s, during a period of supposed Palestinian state-building.

That was when the Oslo accords were signed with western backing. The Palestinian Authority (PA) was established under Yasser Arafat with the apparent aim that Israel would gradually withdraw from the territories it still occupies in Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem and the PA begin ruling an emergent Palestinian state.

Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly

Mr. President, families of our beloved hostages who are languishing in the jails of Gaza, ladies and gentlemen.

Last year, I stood at this podium and showed you this map. This map represents the curse of Iran's terrorists, the axis of terrorism that threatens the peace of the entire world, that threatens the stability of our region, that threatens the very existence of my country, Israel. Iran was rapidly developing a massive nuclear weapons program, a massive ballistic missile program that aimed not only to destroy Israel, but also to threaten the United States, to hold nations everywhere hostage, to blackmail them. Yahya Sinwar, from Gaza, launched waves of Hamas terrorists who penetrated Israel on October 7, who committed acts of unspeakable savagery.

From Lebanon, Hassan Nasrallah fired thousands of rockets toward our cities, terrorizing our citizens. In Syria, the bloodthirsty dictator Assad tightened the noose of death around our necks. In Yemen, the Houthis launched ballistic missiles toward Israel, while stifling trade in the Red Sea.

What happened this year? We smashed the Houthis just yesterday. We suppressed the Hamas terror machine. We decimated most of Hezbollah's leadership, destroyed most of its arsenal — don't forget last year's pagers. Believe me, Hezbollah got the message. Thousands of terrorists have fallen. We destroyed Assad's weapons in Syria, deterred Shiite militias in Iraq, and, most importantly, beyond anything I could tell you about what we've done over the past year, over the past decade, we've devastated Iran's ballistic missile and nuclear weapons programs.

It's gotta be the mic he was wearing on his shirt. This week we examine new, clearer footage of Charlie Kirk the moment he was assassinated at Utah Valley University on September 10th. His 'billowing t-shirt', the 'lack of an exit wound', and the unusual characteristics found in the gunfire sound's 'crack-bang' acoustics are all accounted for by something that's been right under our noses the whole time.

Also on this NewsReal: the farcical 'Russian drone war' in Europe, Netanyahu's antics at the UN General Assembly, the wholesale buy-up of mainstream and social media platforms 'by Israel', Trump's apparent u-turn on supporting Ukraine 'to the last Ukrainian', and the revelation that there were in fact hundreds of feds among the crowd at the Capitol on January 6th 2021.

European recognition of a Palestinian state is not an act of solidarity but a betrayal of Palestinian liberation

StarmerMacron

Recent recognitions of a Palestinian state by several European countries are not acts of solidarity but a profound betrayal that undermines our struggle for liberation by legitimizing Zionism.

"Definitions belong to the definers, not the defined." - Toni Morrison

The recognition of the State of Palestine is not a gesture of solidarity — it is my enemy. Most Palestinians disagree with a two-state solution, which is what all the recent moves to recognize a Palestinian state are contingent on. It is only the Palestinian Authority (PA) elite, who continue to subcontract the Israeli colonial regime, who embrace this recognition in order to fulfill their role in a sub-colonial project. They have accumulated wealth, status, and shallow control benefiting from neoliberal governance under military occupation, while internationally serving liberal imperialists who champion a two-state solution that unapologetically shrinks Palestine and grants Zionists more time to expand their settler-colonial project across historic Palestine.

Again, the recognition of the State of Palestine is not a gesture of solidarity — it is my enemy.
