Blinken authorizes $200M in new defense aid for Ukraine following Biden request

Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Saturday announced that he had authorized $200 million in defensive assistance for Ukraine following a request from President Biden. He said in a statement: "I have immediately authorized today, pursuant to a delegation by the President, a fourth Presidential Drawdown of up to $200 million for additional military assistance for Ukraine's defense. This package will include further defensive assistance to help Ukraine meet the armored, airborne, and other threats it is facing." Blinken noted that the additional funds would bring the total amount of U.S. security assistance provided to Ukraine since Jan. 2021 to $1.2 billion, saying that the fourth drawdown in less than a year was "unprecedented."

Comment: The funds are printing so every American can share this $1.2B gift to Ukraine.

Vice President Harris says US backs Kiev 'in defense of NATO alliance'

Warsaw, Poland • March 10, 2022
Ukraine is not a NATO member and Kiev has recently indicated it is now 'less passionate' about joining.

US Vice President Kamala Harris has said that, by fighting Russia, Ukraine is defending the US-led NATO alliance in an apparent gaffe.

In a speech to the Democratic National Committee's (DNC) winter meeting in Washington, DC on Saturday, Harris argued that Russia's offensive in Ukraine "threatens not just Ukraine's democracy" but "democracy and security across Europe," as well as overseas. "The ocean that separates us will not leave us untouched by this aggression," Harris claimed, before seemingly suggesting that Ukraine is doing NATO's bidding:
"So I will say what I know we all say, and I will say over and over again: The United States stands firmly with the Ukrainian people in defense of the NATO alliance."

Comment: The Democrats got exactly what they voted for: Two gaffers.

Taiwan claims Chinese Air Force planes entered its defense zone

The Chinese People's Liberation Army sent 13 planes to the Taiwanese coast on Monday, triggering a response from the island's air force, Taiwan's Defense Ministry said. The maneuver was reportedly part of a two-week reservist exercise.

According to the ministry, the aircraft group included seven Chinese J-10 and five J-16 fighters plus a Y-8 electronic warfare plane, all flying over an area northeast of the Pratas Islands, which Taiwan considers part of its territory.

Taiwanese jets were scrambled to "warn" the Chinese planes away, while air defense missiles were rolled out to "monitor the activities" of the aircraft.

Beijing did not immediately react to Taipei's claims.

Zelensky reveals his goal is to meet directly with Putin

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video address on Sunday night that the main goal for Kiev's negotiators is to pave the way for a direct meeting with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin. He also hopes that the talks will lead to security guarantees.

"Our delegates have a clear task - to do all they can so the meeting between presidents takes place, the meeting I'm sure the people are waiting for," he said in a video address published on the president's official Telegram channel.

According to him, the goal of the negotiations is to obtain "effective" security guarantees, "not like in Budapest or like on our skies," but guarantees about which the Ukrainian side could "say: this works, these are the guarantees."

Comment: Axios reports on Zelensky's attempt to garner more support from the U.S.:
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will address Congress virtually on Wednesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced Monday.

The big picture: Last week, Congress passed a $1.5 trillion budget bill to fund the government that includes $13.6 billion in humanitarian and security assistance for Ukraine as Russia's unprovoked invasion of the country continues.
  • The White House had originally asked Congress to provide $6.4 billion in aid for Ukraine.
What they're saying: "The Congress remains unwavering in our commitment to supporting Ukraine as they face Putin's cruel and diabolical aggression, and to passing legislation to cripple and isolate the Russian economy as well as deliver humanitarian, security and economic assistance to Ukraine," Pelosi and Schumer said in a joint statement.
  • "We look forward to the privilege of welcoming President Zelensky's address to the House and Senate and to convey our support to the people of Ukraine as they bravely defend democracy."

Kremlin memos urged Russian media to use Tucker Carlson clips - report

Tucker Arizona

Russian government document instructed outlets to show Fox News host 'as much as possible', Mother Jones says.

The Fox News primetime host Tucker Carlson has been widely accused of echoing Russian propaganda about the invasion of Ukraine. According to a report on Sunday, earlier this month the Putin regime in Moscow sent out an instruction to friendly media outlets: use more clips of Carlson.

Mother Jones, a progressive magazine, said it had obtained memos produced by the Russian department of information and telecommunications support.

Comment: Why wouldn't the Kremlin want to encourage redistribution of American personalities who are speaking the truth about the Ukraine situation? It's rather telling that Tucker is the only one on their list.

Twice in a Century: Russia faces a war of annihilation

A war of annihilation is a war in which the goal is the complete obliteration of the state and the extermination of its people. It is defined as a radicalized form of warfare in which "all psycho-physical limits" are abolished and the strategic goals are pursued by any means necessary. It is war without rules, restrictions or moral constraints. The United States is in the early phases of a war of annihilation against Russia the aim of which is the total destruction of the economy, the culture, the population and the nation.
"We have seen 5 waves of NATO expansion. Now NATO is in Romania and Poland and they are deploying their missile-attack systems there. That's what we are talking about. You need to understand, we are not threatening anyone. Russia did not come to the US borders or the UK borders. No. You came to our borders and now you are saying, 'Ukraine will join NATO and will deploy their systems there. They will deploy their military bases and their attack-systems.' We are concerned about our security. Do you understand what that means?" Vladimir Putin, press conference, You Tube

Question- Is there a justification for Russia's invasion of Ukraine?

Answer- Yes, there is. Russia was being threatened by developments in Ukraine, so it told Ukraine to either stop what it was doing or suffer the consequences. Ukraine chose to ignore those warnings, so Russia invaded. That is basically what happened.

Question- But how does that justify the invasion, after all, Ukraine is a sovereign country and sovereign countries should be able to do whatever they want to on their own territory, right?

Answer- No, that's wrong. Ukraine does not have the right to do whatever it wants on its own territory. Ukraine and more than 50 other countries signed treaties ("at the OSCE summits in Istanbul in 1999 and in Astana in 2010") agreeing that they would not strengthen their own security at the expense of other's security. This is called the "indivisibility of security", but in practical terms it just means that you can't put artillery pieces and tanks on your driveway and point them at my house. Because that would undermine my security. Do you understand? The same rule applies to nations.

If we accept your reasoning on the matter, then we'd have to conclude that John Kennedy had no right to challenge Fidel Castro for putting nuclear weapons in Cuba. But he did have the right because Castro's action put the US at risk of a nuclear attack. In other words, Castro had no right to improve his own security at the expense of the United States. This is no different. Putin has every right to defend the safety and security of the Russian people, in fact, that is what people expect of their leaders.

Question- You're not making any sense. Putin invaded Ukraine, therefore, Putin is an aggressor.

Answer- I disagree, but instead of arguing about it, let's use an analogy:

Let's say, I hold a gun to your head and threaten to blow your brains out. But you quickly grab the gun and shoot me in the leg. Who is to blame for that incident?

If you think that I am responsible, you're right. The victim, in this case, simply reacted in a way that would best ensure his own safety. That's called self-defense which is perfectly legal.

Backlash: Meta narrows content moderation policy, prohibits calls for death of head of state

Facebook owner Meta Platforms on Sunday said that it plans to narrow its guidance on its content moderation that temporarily allows users in some countries to call for violence against Russian aggressors and soldiers within the context of the war in Ukraine.

The updated policy will prohibit calls for the death of a head of state, Reuters reported, citing an internal company post.

"We are now narrowing the focus to make it explicitly clear in the guidance that it is never to be interpreted as condoning violence against Russians in general," Meta global affairs President Nick Clegg wrote in the post, according to the news service.

When fanatical ideology bumps up against stone cold reality

wolf and bear
I have avoided writing anything on recent events in Ukraine thus far, partly because I wanted to see how events were panning out, partly because I still don't quite understand how this all fits in with the two year Globalist PsyOp that ended abruptly on 24th February — the same day as the Russian military operation started, as coincidence would have it — but mainly because the experience of trying to write rational analysis in the midst of propaganda that would have made the editors of Pravda blush is no easy task.

As a brief defence against those who will inevitably smear my attempts to analyse the context behind all this as somehow pro-Russian, let me ask them not to bother. I really don't even understand the frame of reference, since I don't view the world in the absurd black hat/white hat terms that lead to such jibes. And in any case, I am pro-God and pro-Truth, as well as being a patriotic Englishman who writes on such topics because he believes this once green and pleasant land is now run by terminally foolish clowns and Globalist ideologues who do not govern for the people but in the interests of others. I would also point out that I was writing about atrocities committed against Ukrainians years before it became fashionable to do so. However, unfortunately it seems I was supporting the wrong Ukrainians — the ones nobody cares about — in the Donbass, who have been killed, terrorised and forced to leave the country by their own brutal Government for eight years, with some even deliberately burned alive by the neo-Nazis formations that apparently don't exist. Those caveats aside, let's press on.

Can India facilitate the Global South's alternative financial transactions with Russia?

digital rupee india
It might take time for Russia to devise similar alternative solutions with its myriad Global South partners, especially those that aren't as much of a priority for it as India is, which is why everyone involved might find it much more convenient to simply rely on the Indian bank(s) that could reportedly be used to this end for conducting their bilateral trade. India would profit, impressively flex its strategic autonomy, and uphold its shared Neo-NAM vision with Russia.

The Hindustan Times reported on Sunday that India is on the brink of finalizing an alternative payment system to carry on trade with Russia, one which would be conducted in national currencies. The outlet quoted JNU trade economist Biswajit Dhar who explained that "When an Indian bank is finalised, Russia will deposit ruble in it, while India will deposit rupees...Russian will use all the rupees it gets from Indian importers to then buy goods from India. Indian exporters will use all the rubles they get from Russia to pay for imports from Russia." If it enters into force, then this would be a pragmatic workaround for continuing trade without the threat of the US' so-called "secondary sanctions". It would also make good on their recently reaffirmed strategic partnership's ambitious economic and financial vision.

US warns China it will face 'consequences' if it helps Russia evade sanctions

Jake Sullivan
© EPAMr Sullivan, seen here in a file picture, warned that the US would not allow China to provide a "lifeline" to Russia
The US has said China will face "consequences" if it helps Russia evade sanctions in its invasion of Ukraine.

Unnamed US officials reportedly told multiple US news outlets that Russia had asked China to provide military assistance after it began the invasion.

The Chinese foreign ministry did not address the allegation directly, but accused the US of maliciously spreading disinformation about China.

The exchanges come as top US and Chinese officials are to meet in Rome.

Comment: The US just pledged $13.6 BILLION for Ukraine in its proxy war against Russia, as well as shipping its terrorist army over from the Middle East and bus loads of mercenaries from around the world, and so it looks like the US doesn't intend to stop adding 'fuel to the fire' anytime soon.
