Musk, Soros and the end of the media

Soros
So, Elon Musk sure shook things up the other day with his interview on CNBC where he dared to break the Fourth Wall of media when he took a shot at George Soros comparing him to Magneto from Marvel's X-Men.

It's a brutally funny exchange as Musk carefully measures his response, takes his time and then goes into full pop culture legend mode invoking Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride.

The Club of Rome: How climate hysteria is being used to create global governance

club of Rome
In the early 1970s the US and much of the western world was shifting into a stagflationary economic crisis. Nixon removed the dollar completely from the gold standard in 1971 with the aid of the Federal Reserve (or perhaps under the direction of the Fed) which ultimately escalated inflation pressures. Europe's post war boom came to an abrupt end, while prices on goods (and oil/gasoline) in the US skyrocketed up until 1981-1982, when the Federal Reserve jacked interest rates up to around 20% and created a deliberate recessionary crash.

Interestingly, the IMF had created the SDR system in 1969 just before the gold standard was cut (the same SDR which the IMF is poised to use as the foundation of a global digital currency mechanism). And, the World Economic Forum was founded in 1971.

The time period is often depicted in films as a happy-go-lucky era of disco, drugs, hippies and rock n' roll, but the reality is that the early 1970s was the beginning of the end for the west - it was the moment that our economic foundations were sabotaged and the affluence of the middle class was slowly but surely stolen by inflation.

The agency refused to provide the document Monday in a private meeting with the House Oversight Committee.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation failed to turn over a document subpoenaed by House Republicans that allegedly details a bribery scheme from then-Vice President Joe Biden.

The agency refused to provide the document Monday in a private meeting with the House Oversight and Accountability Committee. The unclassified FD-1023 document details criminal allegations of a pay-to-play scheme related to the Biden family's business dealings, according to a whistleblower at the agency who spoke with Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.

The inside story of Russia-Iran-India connectivity

The G7 is stupefied by the dynamic progress of the multipolar order embodied by the Russian-led INSTC and the Chinese-led BRI, with Iran's strategic port of Chabahar now poised to play a transformative role.

Make no mistake about what the G7's Hiroshima Communique is all about.

The setting: a city in neo-colony Japan nuclear-bombed 78 years ago by the United States, for which it made no excuses.

The message: the G7, actually G9 (augmented by two unelected Eurocrats) declares war - hybrid and otherwise - against BRICS+, which has 25 nations on its waiting list and counting.

The G7's key strategic objective is the defeat of Russia, followed by the subjugation of China. For the G7/G9, these - real - powers are the main "global threats" to "freedom and democracy."

The corollary is that the Global South must toe the line - or else. Call it a remix of the early 2000s "you're either with us or against us."

Meanwhile, in the real world - that of productive economies - the dogs of war bark while the New Silk Road caravans keep marching on.

The key New Silk Roads of emerging multipolarity are China's ambitious, multi-trillion-dollar Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Russia-Iran-India International North South Transportation Corridor (INSTC). They have evolved in parallel and may sometimes overlap. What is clear is the G7/G9 will go to the ends of the earth to undermine them.

Evidence shows Jack Teixeira was under investigation and surveillance for six months prior to Pentagon documents 'leak'

Jack Teixeira hearing pentagon leak
Evidence from the US Air Force (USAF) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released in federal court this week ahead of a bail hearing for Jack Teixeira, the junior airman accused of leaking top secret Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) briefing papers, reveals that Teixeira was under close surveillance and official investigation from September 2022 through February 2023. That is six months before he allegedly printed out the JCS documents, and then published photographs of the papers on a social media site.

The new USAF and FBI evidence records Teixeira pocketing handwritten notes of what he had been reading; there is no evidence of his being able to print out copies of the documents.

The court hearing, held on Friday afternoon May 19 in US federal district court in Worcester, Massachusetts, ended in a ruling by Judge David Hennessy to deny bail for Teixeira and keep him in prison while his state trial is prepared. "The danger he poses to the community is a grave one," Hennessy said during the 45-minute hearing. "Court states the relative law with respective to this matter," the court clerk has recorded in the case docket. "Court grants the Government's motion for detention, ordering the Defendant detained, and states reasons therefore."

Comment: This bears out many analysts' theory that 'reality-based' members of the military wanted to get the truth of the Ukraine war and the lunacy of taking on China, out in any way they could. The MSM certainly wasn't going to report it. The young serviceman is, unfortunately, collateral damage.

The leaks exposed many more nuggets of information citizens were entitled to have:

Fade to black in Ukraine

"Following the ouster of Mr. Trump in 2020, this new-new-left had exactly what it had been clamoring for, a liberal Democrat in the White House. Given the sense of impending catastrophe at present, it may be difficult to remember precisely how much sniveling bullshit went into selling Joe Biden." — Rob Urie
Have you noticed that the president of Ukraine (or, governor of America's fifty-first state), Mr. Zelensky, has been globe-trotting for weeks: London, Helsinki, Paris, Hiroshima? That's because this is one of those months when years happen; the world is changing at hyper-speed. He seems to be running scared, a little bit, trying to keep ahead of the changing game. What sounded like a great idea to a certain claque of so-called neo-cons in our country — to use Ukraine as a bear trap — has instead rather suddenly revealed Europe's and America's manifold bankruptcies and revolted the whole rest of the world outside of Western Civ. Oh, the wonder and nausea!

Try to imagine Mr. Zelensky's predicament. Mighty America and redoubtable Europe conned the former comedian to thinking that if he went along with a genius scheme to ruin Russia and knock Vlad Putin off the global gameboard, his sad-sack country would be transformed into something like Ukro-Disneyworld, while he, Mr. Z, would be lionized and made rich beyond his wildest imaginings. His backup was the greatest hegemonic power the world has ever seen. The game was called Let's You and Him Fight.

G7 has descended into an 'anti-China workshop': Global Times editorial

Rowboat
© Liu Rui/GTGroup of 7
The Group of Seven (G7) Hiroshima summit concluded on May 21, and unlike the usual practice, the G7 communiqué was released a day before the closing. Some Japanese media said that it was due to the fear that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Hiroshima on the same day would steal the attention from the communiqué. However, even so, this G7 communiqué of dozens of pages still seems to draw little interest from the outside world, except for the part that targets China. According to the Financial Times, the G7 has issued its strongest condemnation of China, and most of the other international mainstream media also highlight that it "amps up pressure on China." It seems that the only way for the G7 to catch people's attention and show its sense of presence is to speculate on the issues related to China.

As a "rich countries' club" that once accounted for up to 70% of the global economy, the G7 has been facing a serious existential crisis in recent years as its economic weight has been declining, coupled with a decline in global population share and perceived attractiveness. In previous years, the G7 summits were always out of the loop because of internal differences and disagreements among the member countries. But since 2021, the G7 communiqué began to target China, which gradually became its "traffic code." Its full name is "the Group of Seven industrial powers," but now it operates like a small workshop specializing in the mass production of "shoddy products." Those anti-China products, without factual basis, legal ground or moral principles, are mostly from the G7 countries.

Russia and Islamic world share geopolitical vision - Syrian envoy

Forum

'Russia - Islamic World' • Kazan, Russia • May 19, 2023
Russia and Islamic nations share many common views on global affairs and geopolitical developments, Syrian Ambassador to Moscow Bashar Jaafari told RT.

Speaking this week on the sidelines of Russia's International Economic Forum in the city of Kazan, Jaafari said that Moscow and Muslim nations should send what he called a crystal-clear political message about this shared vision, as it is urgent for the world to hear this.

Statements by the participants of the 'Russia-Islamic World' forum - which hosted over 7,000 attendees from 85 nations - only strengthened this view, he added.

"I heard today such beautiful and fruitful and very interesting statements coming from here and there, from the participants," he said, calling for a formal "political declaration" to be signed by Russian and Islamic leaders.

Jaafari did not say what the document would include, but explained that the existing model of international relations needs to change soon. "The world needs to quickly move from the unipolar system to the multipolar system," he said, calling for "more balance" and "more justice."

US must make security deal with Russia - Hungary

orban
© Attila Kisbenedek/AFPHungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban
An agreement between the US and Russia is the only thing that can end the conflict in Ukraine, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated on Monday. Orban has repeatedly accused EU leaders of serving American, rather than European, interests by continuing to bankroll Kiev.

Speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha on Tuesday, Orban reiterated his position that Ukraine cannot win on the battlefield, and that Kiev and its Western backers must pursue peace talks with Russia.
"First we should have a ceasefire. Then let's talk about the new security architecture of the European continent. The only peace agreement that could close this whole conflict is if it is between Russia and the United States. What is at stake is the future security of Europe. It's obvious that without the US there is no security architecture for Europe, and now the war can only be stopped if the Russians can make an agreement with the United States."
As a European I am not happy with that," he added. "But this is the only way out."

Comment: Orban is a realist not caught up in the Ukraine fairy tale:
It's "obvious" that Kiev can't win the war against Moscow. Orban, noting Hungary views the ongoing hostilities from a special angle, stated:
"Emotionally, it's tragic, all of our hearts are with the Ukrainians. But I'm speaking as a politician who should save lives. Hungary itself is losing lives daily as well due to the conflict."
Orban refered to members of Ukraine's Hungarian ethnic minority that have been "conscripted" to fight Russia. He abstained from condemning Moscow for the "invasion" of Ukraine, stating only that the hostilities were due to a major failure in diplomacy.
"[The] position of Hungary was, from the very first moment, that this war is the failure of diplomacy, it should have never happened. For us it's obvious that the battlefield solution does not work. My position is that, looking at the reality, looking at the figures, looking at the surroundings, looking at the fact that NATO is not ready to send troops, it's obvious that there's no victory for the poor Ukrainians on the battlefield."
Orban's remarks come as Hungary has opted to block a new €500 million ($544 million) military aid package from the EU's so-called European Peace Facility (EPF). The fund - which is designed to reimburse the bloc's own members to send arms and equipment overseas, as well as to finance foreign militaries directly - has been used almost exclusively to pour weaponry into Ukraine.

Hungary has taken a neutral stance on the ongoing hostilities between Russia and Ukraine, consistently refusing to provide military aid to Kiev or even allow the transport of military shipments through its territory. Budapest has also opposed the EU's anti-Russian sanctions, particularly those that would have damaged the country's own economy, including its nuclear and conventional energy sectors.

Ukrainian raid on Russian border region injures eight civilians - Kremlin calls out Kiev for 'resorting to terrorism' after Bakhmut loss

Russian servicemen
© SputnikRussian servicemen pictured during training
An intrusion by a Ukrainian saboteur group into Russia's Belgorod Region on Monday has left at least eight civilians wounded, local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov has said.

The official visited hospitals to check up on the inured, according to a video address posted to his Telegram channel. No civilians were killed during the incursion, he noted.

Earlier in the day, the governor placed "anti-terrorism operation" regulations on the area over the incident, providing additional power to law enforcement and restricting certain civil liberties. The police can now check documents and vehicles based solely on suspicion, ban traffic in designated areas, restrict telecom services, allow servicemen partaking in the operation to enter private properties freely, and so on. Gladkov did not provide any estimates on how long the special regime would be in effect.

The incident was acknowledged by Moscow, with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stating earlier in the day that the Russian military, the National Guard, border patrol agents and Federal Security Service (FSB) "are taking all the necessary measures to destroy the enemy."

Comment: The Kremlin has responded to this latest aggression, saying that Kiev has resorted to terrorism against civilians after the recent defeat in Bakhmut. Video of the terrorist group's destruction was also released by the Kremlin, with a statement saying, "the remnants of the nationalists were driven back to the territory of Ukraine, where they continued to be hit until they were completely eliminated." It claimed that over 70 Ukrainian terrorists, four armored combat vehicles, and five pickup trucks had been destroyed in the process.
