A court unsealed documents from a lawsuit filed by an accuser of Jeffrey Epstein that claim a number of powerful men were involved in Epstein's alleged ring of abuse — and that President Trump and former president Clinton took previously unreported trips with the former financier.
  • Virginia Guiffre filed this lawsuit against close Epstein associate Ghislane Maxwell, alleging Maxwell exploited her as part of a sex-trafficking network of underage girls to Epstein and a number of his famous friends. Maxwell denies the allegation.
  • The documents were ordered unsealed in July, a portion of which were finally made public Friday.
  • More documents are under review by the judge and may be unsealed in the coming days.
Previously unreported allegations of abuse:

In a 2016 deposition of Giuffre, she claims that Maxwell ordered her to have sex with friends of Epstein, and she complied. They included former New Mexico governor Bill Richardson, billionaire Glenn Dubin, modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, former U.S. senator George Mitchell and the late MIT scientist Marvin Minsky.

Richardson, Dubin and Mitchell have all denied the allegations to Forbes:

"These allegations and inferences are completely false. Governor Richardson has never even been contacted by any party regarding this lawsuit. To be clear, in Governor Richardson's limited interactions with Mr. Epstein, he never saw him in the presence of young or underage girls. Governor Richardson has never been to Mr. Epstein's residence in the Virgin Islands. Governor Richardson has never met Ms. Giuffre," said a spokesperson for Richardson in a statement.

"Glenn and Eva Dubin are outraged by the allegations in the unsealed court records, which are demonstrably false and defamatory. The Dubins have flight records and other evidence that definitively disprove that any such events occurred," a spokesperson for the Dubins said in a statement.

"The allegation contained in the released documents is false. I have never met, spoken with or had any contact with Ms. Giuffre. In my contacts with Mr. Epstein I never observed or suspected any inappropriate conduct with underage girls. I only learned of his actions when they were reported in the media related to his prosecution in Florida. We have had no further contact," said Mitchell in a statement.

Brunel has not responded to requests for comment.

In that same depostion, Giuffre claimed Maxwell ordered her to have sex with Prince Andrew. This allegation, previously reported, has been denied by the prince.

The victims:

According to a deposition by a former Epstein butler, a 15-year-old Swedish girl told him she was forced to have sex with Epstein and others on the private island. In another deposition, a former house manager estimated over 100 "females" visited Epstein's house to give massages in a ten-year period.

Amazon purchases:

A 2005 receipt allegedly shows that Epstein purchased the following titles: SM 101: A Realistic Introduction, SlaveCraft: Roadmaps for Erotic Servitude and Training with Miss Abernathy: A Workbook for Erotic Slaves and Their Owners.

Also mentioned in the unsealed documents:

Bill Clinton:

The former president visited Epstein's private island while Giuffre was there, she claims in one of her depositions. Giuffre stated that Epstein held a dinner for Clinton on the island. (In a statement previously made to Forbes, Clinton denied ever visiting Epstein's private island.)

President Trump:

According to newly unsealed flight logs, Trump flew on Epstein's private jet in 1997. The White House has not yet commented on the new information.

Key background:

Epstein has been under scrutiny since a 2007 federal sex crimes indictment, alleging he sexually abused dozens of underage girls, resulted in a lenient Florida plea deal. The Miami Herald's 2018 investigative series detailed how a federal prosecutor, Alexander Acosta, helped broker the plea deal. The agreement granted Epstein and his anonymous coconspirators immunity and sealed all documents. Epstein served 13 months in a Florida jail after conviction on a prostitution charge and registered as a sex offender. After his release from county jail, Epstein went free until his July 6 arrest by federal prosecutors, when he was charged with sex trafficking and sex conspiracy. He pleaded not guilty and was denied bail. Epstein's lawyers have not responded to requests for comment.
