"We have about 50% of the world's wealth but only 6.3% of its population. This disparity is particularly great as between ourselves and the peoples of Asia. In this situation, we cannot fail to be the object of envy and resentment. Our real task in the coming period is to devise a pattern of relationships which will permit us to maintain this position of disparity without positive detriment to our national security. To do so, we will have to dispense with all sentimentality and day-dreaming; and our attention will have to be concentrated everywhere on our immediate national objectives. We need not deceive ourselves that we can afford today the luxury of altruism and world-benefaction."
~ US State Department, 1948

It's surprising to see Sputnik - and SoTT - publishing such obvious military-industrial complex propaganda bullshit.
Probably someone somewhere is quietly laughing into their sleeves and saying 'That's so low tech, bro'. So last century.
I have read --
The F-35 can't fly more than 10 minutes at speed without the engine overheating…so it has to open its weapons bay door, which of course makes it decidedly un-stealthy.
It can't fly within 25 miles of a thunderstorm, for fear that it will explode from a lightning strike.
The radar software crashes mid-flight…and the pilots have to call their enemy to ask for a time-out for their software to reboot (I made that last part up…I think).
Giving the plane mission data requires going off-base to a public Wifi spot and sending the data from there to the plane.
The plane potentially will kill an ejecting pilot (imagine the headline -- Pilot dies in premature ejection).
The plane gets out-maneuvered by anything built in the last 40 years - part of this problem is that the pilot's helmet is so large that he can't turn his head properly to see the enemy behind him.
Like the F-22, it probably can't be repaired outside of the USA - so any damaged planes will have to be transported thousands of miles back to a Lockheed-approved repair facility…or a Jiffy Lube.
We might as well just built these turkeys and send them straight to the junkyard. Lockheed makes their money, so what else matters?
These F-35 duds are good news for normal, peace-loving human beings. Keep on producing WMDs that's junk, US. What we're seeing is the manifestation of a pathocratic state based on violence and oppression.
Corruption.
