I believe no inmate in Gitmo to my knowledge has been declared innocent, or released without some kind of intervention, they have lived and were captured in conflict areas where depleted uranium is used, the birth defects from Iraq alone are horrendous. Maybe the inmates themselves are radioactive. Of course we will never know, they are terrorist, they are not human.
So if they choose to represent the inmates of Gitmo for whatever there motives, a dance with the devil never pays off.
“The Devil pulls the strings which make us dance;
We find delight in the most loathsome things;
Some furtherance of Hell each new day brings,
And yet we feel no horror in that rank advance.”
― Charles Baudelaire
